Nice to get the assist but his decision making was yet again atrocious throughout the game. Everyone is being cute in here, but let’s be honest, he’s fecking annoying.

He is both injured and exhausted. Needs to work on his decision making. Was rather poor today.

He definitely needs a rest so if it is a minor injury then could be a bonus as he's been out of sorts for ages. A rested Rashford might come back in purple patch form and help us finish season strongly.

I’d be tempted to rest him until Leicester if possible.

I'm no doctor but presumably the shoulder problem that requires surgery and his general fatigue are quite different things? One can be alleviated with a few games off but I don't think we're gonna get a fully fit Rashford just by him missing a few games with a minor leg injury.

Any news about his injury? I would not find any myself.

I think he was good today. Challenging, many good runs, good defensive work. He did not play his best match, but was quite good.

He needs a rest

Can't believe I'm going to say this but he needed to be a bit more selfish today. It's annoying how when he has a great position to shoot, he tries a difficult pass. But he would rather shoot when there's 4 bodies in front of him (or he will try dribble through them)

He had a good game overall and clearly scared City with his pace

I hope to god Ole doesn't rush him back for Milan. Let him rest and recover and hope he hits form for the last 10 games in the league

Great run by Rashford to do that back check.

He's overplayed, I'm worried Oli is running him into the ground, and he'll become injury prone before his prime.

I feel this injury will be good for him. It won't take him out for more than 2 monts worstcase, so he will get a much needed rest and will be able to recharge his batteries for the season finish and the Euros.

Frustrating again today. For a so called striker he sure is reluctant to shoot

Cmon guys. When he shoots he gets criticised for being selfish, when he passes he gets criticised for being reluctant to shoot. It's about decision making which he lacks sometimes. But he also often get's it right as for the assist today.

His workrate was very, good today. He was a constant threat and the so called current best manager subbed on Walker only because of him. (At least that was my impression)

Another bad game with poor decision making.

Interestingly, Ole didn't mention of his supposed shoulder and foot injuries in the post match interview but did highlight that both Martial and Shaw faced late fitness tests this morning ahead of today's game, but all we hear and talk about is Rashford injuries...

I wouldn't mind him not shooting if the alternative wasnt passing directly to a City player.

Its like he’s developing but the wiring is all wrong.
Passed when he had to shoot - shoots when there is an easy pass. So infuriating

He annoyed me slightly less than normal so that’s positive. Played okay, he’s quite clearly injured though so perhaps I’ve been too harsh recently. Really he’s a victim of his own high standards and top level performances, his bottom level though is shockingly bad.

I’m sure it’ll all come together for him in the next little while. He’s clearly talented but super frustrating with his final decision. I was so surprised when he set Shaw up there. His decision making and work rate this season has been consistently horrible all while he’s been putting up respectable numbers. It makes me think once he’s fully fit and we have some more quality around him I think he’ll come alive again and he could be capable of doing a Salah or a Bale before he left England. If Shaw can become the best LB in the league after a leg break then I must remind myself, even though I always felt Shaw would come good again, that i shouldn’t be so quick to totally write off players after a bad few months or even a bad season. I just want to see work rate and mentality when things aren’t coming off in the meantime!

He again worked really hard for the team. I just hope he can sometimes be a little bit more selfish in the box to try a quick shot rather than to slow down to try to assist the teammates. Especially in a tight game like today, if you don’t shoot, you won’t score.
We became immediately vulnerable on both wide areas when he was forced off. Hope his injury is not serious. We don’t know how to play without him.
He was red through and through. Remind me that Ole’s trace back so many years ago.

Shoots when he should pass and passes When he should shoot
Always seems to be looking for the highlight play

He can reach close to 25-30 goals this season, but hopefully won't be occupied by paying long term price at the end.

Last season he struggled a bit vs Sevilla, this time we need to use him properly or pay the same price, or even bigger if the injury is serious matter.

His decision making was a bit off in some of the crucial moments, but he got another assist and he’s such an important weapon in the way we play. When he went off, we offered practically nothing. You can see why ole likes to play him all the time.

10x better than the palace performance from him today

Anyone else worried that opposition players might start taking sly digs until his back?

He was holding his back after yhe header he went up for literally 5 seconds into the game! Had me worried...

I thought he was much better today performance wise anyway.

I recently re-watched Rashford's individual performance against City last season and its quite telling how Marcus moves more freely around the pitch.
He looks more flexible, less rigid/stiff and uptight in-comparison to this seasons campaign.

I would really recommend people watching it, especially those who think this 'back injury' is just another excuse for certain fans to make for Rashford whenever he puts in a less than convincing display in certain areas.

As we witnessed today, he still has a issue regarding his back.

If Cavani can get fit, this may be the time to just get his shoulder op done, with the international break coming up, and he may have a niggle anyway it could help us to have him back 100% for end of this season, start of next.

After getting so much shit for his (lack of) defensive effort (some of it deserved) it’s worth noting that he injured himself at the end of a 60 yard defensive sprint. Good to see.
Some say you can injure yourself doing something you’re not used to doing.

My emojis aren’t working to add one

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
He was better than he has been recently and obviously worked quite a bit harder (the play where he got injured was great work). Obviously he still wasn't great but it least it was a step the right way. Hopefully the injury isn't too bad. He could probably do with a bit of a break but now wouldn't be the best time with the quality of the opposition over the next few weeks and the injuries to other players.

I'd really like him to take a pop at goal at times. Why did he ever stop? He's doing a good job getting in positions to curl it in the far corner of the goal but for some reason all he does is pass.

He's not been good for a while, needs a long rest. I don't really want to see him at the Euros, wish he got a rest instead.

Thought he looked knackered in the first half, opted out of 50-50's. Better in the second half, attitude wise as well, decision making is still poor.

Hope we rest him, as a minimum, to the cup match against Leicester.

He's really out of form. Might be general fatigue, might be the injury he's carrying, but something needs to be done because his form has been poor for a while.

Underhit passes ruining promising attacks.
Dribbling into players
Shooting when he's got a crowd of players in front of him
Not shooting when there's a good chance
Ignoring or not seeing teammates in good positions.
Walking around the pitch too often

These have all become staples of his recent performances. We're not doing ourselves any favours by playing him week in and week out, but he needs to be doing better too.

Depending on the operation shoulder surgery could have him out for 6 to 8 weeks. Possibly longer. Not something you can squeeze in over an international break.

Marcus is clearly carrying a bunch of injuries. It says a lot about our squad that we're flogging him, rather than letting him rest.

He obviously needs a few weeks off (at least) and I hope both the club and England give it to him.

Those deficiencies are not recent or new.
They’ve been evident for a couple of seasons, even when he’s been in the best form, scoring goals and make a positive impact.
We’ve been willing to overlook these shortcomings, or turned a blind eye to them.
