I’d stick with him as no 9 and give him a decent run. He was unlucky today and the goals will come.
Yeah, he's a striker not a winger. Played down the middle and looked far more dangerous than he has for ages. Give him a good run up there.

He’s doing alright! He gets into dangerous positions quite often. Feel sorry for him not getting his goal.
I mean that Fabianski save first half was absolutely class. Greenwood looked brilliant facing the opponent down. I do think it will click for him soon.

What a strange season it's been for Greenwood.

His overall play has been excellent at times. He's had some quiet games, but generally he hasn't let us down when he's got the ball. Most of the time he is taking the right option. Some of his crossing is great to see, usually the chances are being spurned, unfortunately.

It feels like it should come together in the next few years. He's snatching at attempts he was hitting cleanly last season. However a feeling and it actually happening are two different things, so it's a case of fingers crossed.

Also I do think he needs to work on areas of his game that will allow him to score more goals. He's never really on the end of anything in terms of running across a defender or heading ability. So many balls seem to just meander through the opponent's box with no hint any of our forwards have a desire to get on the end of it, he is one of the culprits. Not every goal can be a shimmy from just inside the box and blasted into the corner.

I think it’s as a result of the quality of our build up, but he drifts out to the wings a bit too much, sends in a good ball but as a result there’s no one there to meet it.

Played well but just not happening for him in front of goal and even when he sets up a team mate they fluff it. Luck will change sooner or later.

Very good today, a performance that deserved a couple of goals for sure. His all round play was very good. He had a moment which looked like very good hold up play which was given as a foul against him, mad decision.

Very unlucky with his finish against the post. Made the right decision and totally wrong-footed Fabianski, as he seems so good at doing.

I disagree, he's actually created a lot of good chances today by putting some really dangerous crosses in. The problem is that no one made any type of run

His all round game has improved massively. He does seem like he’s a bit too far away from goal sometimes though.

Good performance, should have got himself two goals, good save from Fabianski on the first.

If he keeps playing well and getting himself involved his luck with change and I’m sure Ole will be reminding him of that.

We need him to hit a run of form in this run in, would be a great boost.

Impressive performance. Best player on the pitch by a mile. Unfortunate not to score, one super shot that hit the post, another that the keeper saved onto the post. Created a big chance that Rashford headed wide, several dangerous crosses that were cut-out. Flick from Shaw's early cross that was deflected then saved. Another two shots from an angle that were blocked.

If he continues getting involved like today he will soon start scoring again.

Once he gets a run of games uo top, the goals will flow. Positioning and overall intelligence on the pitch is great, would like to see more conviction but I think that is due to lack of games where he is striker.

Thought he was MOTM today after he picked it up a bit. Should’ve had an assist and a goal at least if he had even an ounce of luck atm!

He's a gem and the future of our club. While it's tempting to buy a big name striker but then what do we do with him? Reckon he could be a better version of Van Persie and that'd be a hell of a player.

I think he is been taking step after step back towards his form from last season. Was good last match and even better today. If one of his shots had found the net he would have been my Motm but now it goes to Harry.

There were parts of his game that were class but then others that had me pulling what's left of my hair out

Hes not a long term #9. Not in this kind of scheme anyway.

He would have been my choice for the MOTM if not for Maguire's performance.

Right now Mason looks dangerous until he's in front of goal, which is a pretty big issue when he's playing centre forward.

Thought he had a great game today. He dropped deep more than usual and held the ball well. Thought that suited him as he's got a great touch, turn and change of pace, more of that please! Reminded me a little of Lukaku but with a better touch and worse finishing!

Remember when he came in to the scene and everyone didn't know his stronger foot? Well he's turned very left footed, almost never uses his right!

Had a good game, unlucky not to score. The main thing he needs to do is to try and stay central more often instead of drifting wide.

His passing was fantastic today. His interchange play with Bruno, his spreading it out wide. His crosses into the box. He has an appetite for goal like all top strikers do but his passing was great.

We have a lot to sort out, striker, right wing, the midfield duo, center back, right back depth, whatever we do with goalkeeper... Some of these can sort themselves out, striker being one of them with Greenwood. But he is only 19, so it's understandable. Haaland is the Ibra type and it's pretty well documented that he wants to move around and win all around, so even if we bought him, I'd bet it's a max of 4-5 years we have him anyway. Anyone else isn't getting for striker though and it's better to focus elsewhere.

Hes not a long term #9. Not in this kind of scheme anyway.
He 100% is a long term #9, no matter the scheme. He's 19 so has a lot to develop and learn, but that's his long term position and he will be our striker long term, I'd guarantee it.

Red Card for Casemiro!
MOTM today. Play him upfront and he starts becoming such a threat. His link-up play, control and two-footedness are such assets close to goal. He just needs some confidence back.

I actually think we could try a 4-4-2 at times with Cavani and Greenwood up top, I reckon they'd do great. Amad, RM.

I'm not convinced by this v.Persie comparison. Aesthetically speaking there is something very reminiscent.

But I feel Greenwood might just be a wide player. I think he might even become quite a creative player as he's composed and good technically on either foot and can cross superbly, especially if we have a better target in the box. He also has the pace to play there. He can also find more space out wide which suits a lot of his current skills of shifting onto either foot, if he's down the middle he'll have no space to do that with regularity and even more of his play will be facing away from goal rather than towards it.

I don't really see a striker in him without a lot of development of areas he currently looks short in. That could of course happen but I see no reason to try and force that outcome. I'm not sure he has the presence to play up front. He's not somebody that naturally makes runs in behind or across the posts, his aerial weakness has already been mentioned by the manager. Like a lot of our forward options his most notable work is coming towards the ball, unless there is a counter attack. Nothing apart from flashes of finishing suggests a number 9, but finishing is also valued for his current position so it doesn't automatically follow that clean ball striking means he's a striker in the making.

It will be interesting to see how his skillset develops.

That’s pretty much his best game of the season so far. He looks like he’s about to start scoring again. He burst into life around this time last season so let’s hope he kicks on again. I think Martial is going to start knocking them in again too when he comes back. He had some better form before the injury. It’ll almost be like two new signings... :wenger:

Neville actually gave it to Shaw. I mean he was solid again but Maguire or Greenwood for me.

Played really well and has looked much brighter in recent weeks. He just needs a goal or two now to set him up for a strong finish to the season. One of those players we‘re all desperate to do well!

I'm surprised he's being so highly rated today. I thought he started the match really well and also had another good 10-15 minute period in the second half, but the rest of the time he was fairly average.
Difficult to do a lot more than what he did against a parked bus.

he didn’t hide, dropped off to help the build up and should/could have scored twice, thanks to a great save and the post.

he does need to predict the crosses coming and make more gambling runs across the front post but that will come.

As others have said. Created a sitter for Rashford, put in some dangerous balls apart from that, hit the post twice... another day he easily could've had 2 goals and an assist. He had a good performance and did what you want from your striker, everything apart from hitting the back of the net instead of the post.
