Why are we only team in rebuilding? And how long that rebuilding will last? It is his 3rd season. Some players who he bought will be out of contract and he will still talk about rebuilding.
There is no long term rebuilding at this level. It is only another excuse for him.
The rebuild will last as long as it takes. The board needs to put money on the table so we can get the players we desperatly need, and once thats done we can start judging Ole as a manager. But as of now its way too early, removing Ole now is NOT the solution! We still have players like Jones, Matic, Mata + more in the squad who needs to go and get replaced. We only have 2-3 worldclass players in Bruno and Pogba.

I'm intrigued to hear your thinking behind this? Because to me it sounds like Ole's improvement/level correlates nicely with the quality of players at his disposal or the amount of money he can pump into the team. Apart from a happy, positive environment for players, I struggle to see exactly what he brings to the table.
What the feck is this.

Saying OgS is useless apparently destroys arguments but claiming the team will get better based on signings we’ll make whilst you don’t even rate his football is a coherent argument?

I’ve never called OgS useless, he obviously has his merits but ‘we play the same against every team’ & have done so for 2+ years yet ‘Next year he will be even better’. . . yea ok.
I don't rate his football as I don't think it can win us the PL or CL. His football however is good enough for Top 4 every year. He keeps the dressing room happy and motivated which is not a given with every manager as we have seen in the past. His coaching with regards to defending is decent. His coaching with regards to counterattacks is exceptional. For the rest (possession, breaking down low blocks, patterns of play, etc.) he requires exceptional players to fill in some of the blanks.

His football went from mid-table level before Bruno to top 4 level after Bruno. Similarly when we get a better striker or RW our football will improve. I personally don't think this is enough to be the manager of a club like United but he is hitting the targets set by the club and is going to be here next year.

The man has no clue or his coaching staff has no clue. Any team needs a structure. It does not matter if the players are world class or not. Look at teams like Brighton etc. They are in the relegation fight because they could score for anything. Their players could not hit a barn. Their control is not up to the top standards. Yet, yes, yet they move into the right space and they pass well and get into good positions. Their individual ability let them down.
Not with out lot. Most of them have the individual ability. It is their lack of structure and movement off and on the ball that is the biggest issue. It is a coaching issue. Look at the RVN interview. He said they practiced and practiced so it became second nature and do not have to think about what the player with the ball is attempt to do. He knows where it is going to go.
Look at what Keane said. Control, pass and move.

The whole rebuild narrative is honestly the most tragic of all the narratives that our fan base has latched onto. This goes for all managers and not just Ole.

A rebuild makes sense if you are Klopp now - you built a team that was successful but is looking like it is weaker than it was & it's best players are near/past their peak. SAF did this multiple times and there were years where we weren't great under him because we were transitioning but the whole point is there was a recent example of success to draw upon. A manager earns the right to a rebuild once they prove themselves capable of building a successful team.

Ridiculous the manager is 3 seasons in spent just under 300 million. Does the club need to sign Mbappe, Sancho and Varane before the manager can accurately be assessed ?

Seriously? A football team is never complete, it's always changing, so no matter who we sign, there'll always be further possibilities.

A football manager is always judged, and that's the why it should be. The only question is, whether he is judged fairly. If people expect us to challenge this City side right now, it's not very realistic. If they expect to see better, cohesive football, then that should be realistic.

You don't have to reach that stage in which you supposedly 'complete' a side in order to judge whether the manager is doing well enough with what he has and if he should stay. And I don't see the kind of football which makes me think all we need is different players and we'll be fine.

Semantics. You think anybody is implying that Ole’s already had a great side and is currently doing a re-build? No, the re-build refers to restoring United as we’ve known it since the Premiership started.

What have you seen so far that suggests Ole is the solution? I don't understand how anyone can still believe he has some master plan he's going to kick into action the moment we get Haaland, Sancho, etc. It'll be the same improvised shit, just with better players. Regardless of what you think of him, there's no denying that there are two aspects of our game (there's more than two for me, but for the sake of this I'll narrow it down to these two) that he (and the coaches) are mostly at fault for. Our complete inability to defend set-plays, and our insistence on playing our from the back, even though we're fecking shite at it.

Now it's either this group of players aren't good enough to do it (which they aren't) or Ole and the coaching staff aren't good enough at coaching it. Either way, it's on the manager. Even when we haven't conceded from playing it out, we've still absolutely butchered it. When the opposition team sits back and allows us to do it then it's obviously not an issue, but when there's even the slightest hint of a press it goes to shit, and we often end up launching it or, even worse, losing it. It's painful to watch.

We're not going to do better than top 4 under Ole.

The ceiling has been reached.

Hopefully the board realizes this in the summer.
Yes but with Chelsea getting better, all it takes is the likes of Spurs or Liverpool to get their act together and if we can't push for the league by either next season we will begin to dwindle.

One thing that isn't helping Ole is time. His conservative approach to win a trophy will cause him headaches in the long run because the increase financial spending on first team players will increase the necessity of the league becoming a minimum requirement. If Ole has per say 160 million to spend over two more windows if we aren't talking the league and a serious competition he should be shown the door.

This obsession with keeping clean sheets and grinding out 1-0's, hitting teams on the counter is the worst for me. Absolutely sick of seeing this shi* football, playing not to lose, not playing to win. Consistently playing a back 6 trying to nick a goal. He has to go. This is Manchester United and I was hoping Ole above all else would understand the Utd ethos of attacking football and entertaining fans.

Don't you find it slightly worrying that the only way it appears Ole will succeed is if he has the perfect side. Then there is no guarantee he will succeed, that he still won't know how to use players to their best. Surely if he is even moderately competent he should be able to find a way to get this squad to play a form of attractive football. Him and his coaches should be able to get this team to defend set pieces properly. What are they doing?

It's something very simple that people here can't realize.

Teams like Brighton and Leeds can play good football consistently, how is that?

The answer is obvious, it's because they're coached better.

I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.
I think the opposite is true. Give Ole PSG squad or Man City squad and he will win. Give Pep or Poch our squad and they will not.
I've got a better one. Give Ole Leicester's squad and give Rodgers our squad.

Exactly. I can't bare to think of going into another season of this.

Indeed. A manager doesn't just get time and money and players. He has to earn that, he has to show that his work is worth the investment of time and money.

From the transfers that we've made to the football that we're playing, I don't see how he's earned that trust. I think his history with us and the trauma from his predecessors is clouding people's judgement. Sure, there are elements to his work that are better that LVG and Mourinho, but come on, their standards were hardly impressive.

The 6-1 defeat at Spurs changed him I think. Since then he's erred on the side of caution and seldom taken any risks. It has made us harder to beat but my goodness the football has been dour. The last thing I wanted is a Norwegian Mourinho or Van Gaal, and one without the illustrious career at that.

I think those were very likely Woodward decisions. He seems to have a fear of player contracts running out irrespective of how useless they are and seems delusional enough to hope he could fetch a decent price for them.

Isn’t that what Pep does?
Don't see what Pep has to do with the above conversation. I also don't see any comparison with either of the managers one is a winner (far more immediate pressure to win) the other a novice competitively.

Solskjaer has a team good enough now for him to be judged. If he still had the likes of Dalot, Lingard and Lukaku as starting players then it would be completely different.

Ole probably shouldnt have shunted Lukaku to the wing then sold him in all honesty. Were still looking for a 9 whilst another manager is getting the best out of him.

Don’t get me wrong Lukaku wasnt perfect but he was the best 9 we had and we still havent got a better one since letting him go.

Ole probably shouldnt have shunted Smalling then complain about wanting a CB with pace so we can play higher up the pitch.

Alot of us want more replaced than DDG Matic and Lindelof. (Personally I would keep Lindelof but thats another story)
Lukaku might be performing well for Inter, but for us he was inconsistent for two years, and didn't do enough to be our first choice no. 9.

The mistake wasn't selling him, but not replacing him.

Smalling would leave us unable to play out from the back. Today every top team play out from the back.

If Ole was heavily against it, then it looks even worse for him.

His subs yesterday were shocking once again.
I always wonder why does he wait 15 or 20 minutes into the half before reacting. Maybe his mentality is to take the game as deep as possible and then do the thing but that's a stupid stupid tactic. Always find his game management to be poor and yesterday was no different. Fred should have been hooked off and Mctominay should have immediately been on. Then could have been braver by subbing matic and bringing on bruno for him.

No of course not, but at least give some more time to finish building his own team up before you want him out. Like I said, we still see progress which, 2nd in the league and still have a chance to win the EL. This squad is far from ready to win the big trophies though, for that we need a better squad with more depth in.

There is no way we know for sure. The buck stops with the manager though. He signed off on all of them just like the VDB signing and he has to live with those decisions being his.

Vultures have found their voice again

Oh come on - it's fecking true!

What are your favourite memories as a Utd fan? I bet 99% of them are those which led to/directly involved winning trophies.

Even since SAF left, the best moments have been the 3 "major" trophies we've won. Nothing else. No one off performances which temporarily derailed our big rivals. No finishing "best of the rest".

You've got to be winning or prioritising winning at this club, end of. We've fallen off so badly if we're putting up with this drivel.

You Ole cultists are weird.
Ole cultist  I have been called Ole outer few months back.

Truth is Ogden is a moron. Twisting what Ole said and got that article out when we lost against Leicester. His last hit piece on Ole was when Arteta beat Ole and apparently how Arteta has all the answer and Ole was clueless. Then Ole perfomed and Ogden went into hiding. Hence why I wrote Vultures
