Brighton have some decent players, but Bissouma is by far the pick of the bunch. We ought to be in for him as he is certain to leave the south coast and would be the perfect anchor for our midfield. Great tackler and his positioning is superb.

I'd rather go for Sander Berge, better player and will come cheaper since Sheffield are being relegated.

I’d love to see Ole break from the 4-2-3-1 & play 2 forward thinking centre midfielders. Playing 2 DMs & a 10 leaves a gaping hole in our midfield. Is Bailly fit? I feel like we play the pivot to compensate the lack of speed at the back.

    Henderson
    AWB Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matic
    Bruno Pogba
    Greenwood Martial James

I think this team could play some good football. The “McFred” pivot just fills me with dread.

It's only been 9 days but I miss watching United! International breaks suck. Hoping we get back on track here - 2-0 win.
Feels like an eternity since we last played a game. The squad will be fresher at least, so there's that.

Trossard is in good form recently after being very meh most of the season. Bagged 2 goals for Belgium last night too.

I agree with the sentiment behind your team selection and definitely agree with the McFred criticism.

But I actually think Brighton are one of those rare bottom 10 teams where we’d be better off with the McFred pivot. They won’t sit deep in a low block and will actually try and be progressive with the ball. McTominay and Fred’s strengths will be needed in this game.

Fred, in particular, I think is essential. Counter attacks will win us the game imo and he’s the best at helping initiate those quick transitions from midfield.

I really like Brighton and the way Potter sets his team up but it should hopefully play right into our strengths.

Brighton aren't going down. They're 6 points clear of the relegation zone with a much better goal difference and a game in hand. It's also pretty obvious if you watch them regularly that they're a proper CF away from being a top 10 team employing an attractive and proactive style of football that puts them in a clear contrast to most of the teams around them.

I also prefer their style to ours; it's not 'blinkered or narrow minded' to say that they play a more appealing brand of football than we do. It doesn't mean it's more effective, it just means it's more pleasant on the eye. Plus it's the only real way you can actually compare the two teams. If you narrow it down exclusively to results of course we're better - we spent about £20 million more on Maguire than Brighton have on their entire starting XI. The clubs don't operate in the same spheres.

LIKE for like the only BHA player that scores more is Dunk over Maguire.

This has got draw written all over it for me. We are struggling to score more than 1 in a game at the moment, since the City game. 1-1.

Agreed. Though, I was dreading the City game and it went well. Hopefully, my concerns are just that - concerns, and we get a solid win. Finishing behind Leicester at the end of the season would feel sour.

Good break from United that and now looking forward to this one, good that a lot of our players will have had at least 1 weeks rest from playing if not longer

Jakub Moder (BHA) scores for Poland and Maguire wins it for England, adds a nice little sub plot to this game.

Eh what gives you the impression he's better? I haven't seen anything special from Berge at all.

Bissouma is a much better DM, and actually plays in a possession based side so knows how to handle the ball.

This has been a relatively good break though, with a number of our football obsessed players (Rashford and Bruno) who've been playing on fumes forced to rest, Pogba building up match fitness, James and Maguire getting a confidence boost, the folks left at home getting time to rest and work on specific things.

Apart from Martial's knock (he got an assist btw), which apparently is not serious, it's been great.

I'm Norwegian, he's Norwegian. This is a total homer comment.

    But he's also better

I see, if you take off your Noggy glasses I think you'll see he isn't. Honestly Berge for his reputation has been a bit of a disappointment in England IMO.

Whether he'll leave now they're relegated and do better elsewhere, perhaps. Sheffield aren't a great side to show his talents, but right now Bissouma is the better player for us.

Should be an easy win but I'm sure we'll make hard work of it...

They better win this one, it is on my birthday, there is no party, there is no gifts, (maybe just a few), so nice little birthday gift from Ole and the boys in a shape of great game and nice and easy win would be more than enough.

Given how few of our players are actually getting minutes for their national teams, we should at the very least be a bit more rested (finally).

Whether it'll make any difference, who knows.

Really no excuse here. We have had time to prepare properly with most of the starting eleven at Carrington during big parts of the national break (Cavani, AWB, Fred, Rashford, Bruno, Lindelof, Greenwood). Ole and his boys really have to show something here. Show progress. Show that we are a team, because too many times we have just looked like a bunch of strangers, including in our last game.

I can see us score if we get space. Brighton won't sit back but they have been more solid lately, so we might not get so much space as the last couple of times. Will be interesting to see how the game plans out though. 2-1 to Brighton or 4-0 to United, nothing surprises me.

It will be De Gea I'm sure, though I'd keep Henderson in place as he's not done much to deserve dropping in my view but that was never the situation to begin with.

We're going to need at least a couple of goals in this one to overcome the inevitable Welbeck cup final performance - maybe we should play McTominay upfront? :D

McT played 270 minutes during the international break, so I would guess a well rested Fred/Matic start this one.

No Martial and Lindelof for this game, with Rashford and Greenwood both back from injury, I hope Ole will play his best XI, with especially players that stayed at Carrington this week.

Not sure why so many has Bailly in their lineup.

He is behind Lindelof in the pecking order and Lindelof has only been in Europe during the internationals.

Bailly has been in Africa and had a game two days ago in Abidjan... Even though Bailly dont start for Ivory Coast he is in the squad so he has to travel all the way to Africa.

I think its highly unlikely he will start
