Wow, one of these teams is second in the league and the other is not far from the relegation zone position wise.

Is this was someone’s introduction to football then they’d say United are the team much lower down the table.

I know the whole attack has been poor today, but Bruno has been so frustrating for a long while. Its so annoying to see him dick around with stupid passes, when he can keep it simple deep in his own half, or if we just need to catch a breath and keep possession.
To be fair to Bruno and Pogba the movement ahead of them isn't great, but yes they have both been poor.

That was a very poor half. We need improvements all over the pitch as, just like earlier in the season, Brighton have been the better team.

We had a great start and once they scored our heads dropped completely and we stopped doing what is needed to open up Brighton: fast decisive passes and movement in and around the box. We can play like that last half hour all night and not score against this Brighton side. Their plan is obvious but very effective against us.

Can aaaaaalways count on this pissing crap club making me miss the otherwise most universally hated football phenomenon - international breaks - within 45 minutes. I absolutely would be setting fire to myself in anger this halftime, as a manager. fecking crap all of you. Laughable.

Maybe his manager should be telling him...
I guess. Maybe I'm harsh because Pogba and Greenwood have had moments of just giving the ball away and Rashford is over dribbling often.

Absolutely drab. Rashford doesn’t look fit. Pogba and Fred can’t string a pass together. Wan Bissaka terrible when a ball is played towards him. Cavanis head is in South America. Should have been a comfortable night tonight - open up a nice gap on Leicester. But no, not United.

Once again, the most concerning thing is that we've created feck all in this half. We had a well-struck Greenwood volley and that's it. No threat whatsoever, and that's with arguably our best front six.

This isn't a shock performance or result so far, imo. The mistakes that we're making are the same mistakes that we've been making over the season. Sloppy passing, too slow to move the ball, lack of width, lack of players making runs, giving the ball away too much, etc.

We had decent/good control in that opening 10 mins and it was a promising start. We've lost that control since and even when we do have the ball, we keep making basic errors when transferring from midfield to attack.

It's only 1-0, but at the moment we need to move the ball better and create better chances. We're just making it so easy for them. The lack of movement means that their back four only have to hold their line because they know we can't get around or behind them.

I've tried to be positive with him this year but the last few matches have really pissed me off. Ole just isn't getting it done. That was a shocking half, he was completely done by Potter.

And see this, your original post.

You're now arguing something completely different.
When we try and create something we give the ball away. I posted that just after we gave the ball away sloppily. Just because we have more possession doesn’t mean we can’t be wasteful with the ball.

Damn ... They ain't even trying to play.

A goal against the run of the game in the first 15 mins, since then BHA marshalled us away from their box and kept us at bay and launched few attacks..

    While us being absolutely clueless

Another first 45 minutes where we've no tempo, energy, aggression or any resemblance of a plan whatsoever.

How is this allowed? It's been a glaring issue all season. It doesn't even matter if we win this 2-1 in the end, how is it these players seem to repeatedly just expect to "turn up" against the lesser teams.

What's even more bizarre is how often we've seen that we're clearly not good enough to do that, and it still happens.

Pathetic, again. Almost getting on the Ole out wagon but Glazers is the main issue here. No manager is getting fully backed, so it's all moot complaining. We have clear holes in our squad. Bang average. We might get Champions League but wont do shit in it
Can't blame Glazers for this lacklustre performance and tactical borefest, this is on the manager and the players

Fitness has feck all to do with some of his decision making. Running into blind alleys if you're not fit makes no sense
It does have a lot to do with it, IMO. If you’ve ever tried to play football injured you’d know that your decision making goes out of the window - your touch and composure isn’t there because you have one eye on whatever is niggling you so you DO end up going down blind alleys, making poor choices etc.

I bet you as soon as he’s genuinely fit he starts playing like the best Rashford again. That is if we don’t completely ruin him in the meantime

Quite a bit of misguided anger I think, but then we've all got our opinions. I can't believe people think this is even close to the best this group of players are capable of, we're playing well below our potential once again.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
Despite a lot of these players playing together for years now there is 0 cohesion, 0 effort, just standing around ball watching. I just don't understand what we are doing on the training pitch, how do we still manage to look so unbelievable clueless against small teams is beyond me.

Why are you getting so stressed? It’s a football match.
I’m not stressed I just seem to remember you predicted us to win 4-0 as I thought at the time it seemed mental, now you say we have shit players. Bit weird to be honest.

This is not about tactics or anything else but just basic workrate. Rashford and Greenwood should be ashamed. Again. Solskjaer need to be though and take them out if they don’t perform even if it means We get ”worse” giftes players in.

Brighton making much better use of 37% possession than United and are defending better. Leading because of a defensive error.

Uphill task to win now, at least 2 goals required and not even Man City at home to Brighton recently scored 2 goals.

Lots of valid criticism going in. Of course when we win which we will given our quality it'll be called negative moaning or 'proven wrong'. Because playing badly for 60mins a game so often is fine..

We know our front 5 players are talented because they have shown to be in the past, however look at them this season and apart from maybe Bruno you wouldnt really say. They look incredibly average at football, they dont do anything special, anything clever, are continuously found out by average defenders.

Potter showing (again) how easy it is to set up against Ole’s United. These Brighton players aren’t great but outplaying us in every position. Similar to the first game this season too.
Yet again, we have been appalling. How anyone can see Ole is the man for us is clinically blind.

Also, if you watch our movement the next time we get in the last third of the pitch, just move your eyes to our forward players, they're all in a static line doing feck all. That's not going to work against a team with everyone back. Everything is in front of them and it's the easiest thing to defend in the world.

We have spells like this in every single game. We are incapable of playing well for more than 5-10mins at a time.
Thats not true. But it is valid that we struggle to sustain it over 90 mins. We’ve had many good 45-70 minute patches in games this season. Which is often enough. We’ve also won a lot of games only playing well for 10-20 mins and being resilient the rest.

I will agree that we’ve only turned up for 5 minutes so far.

cavani looks like an OAP. Rashford no space to run into. Fernandes completely nullified by Bissouma. Pogba is offering the only glimpse of something creative.

Against such a packed defence, that is so brilliantly organised, we need to create more one on ones and beat the man. Only way to open it up. Looking at the bench there is only Amad who can do it, and I don’t think he’s anywhere near ready but sometimes you have to take a chance.

Brighton really are a very good team. Extended period of bad luck for them to be at the bottom half of the league when performance wise, all season long they've been arguably a top 7 team.

Anyway we've been shit. Fred done well, Greenwood ok at best but the rest have been really poor. Cavani a complete 0 today, not working hard and gave it away everytime he got it. Bruno and Pogba both sloppy. Rashford being crowded out. Wan Bissaka and Shaw really bad too.

We have a great ability to not score in our best periods. A bit of sharpness in the final third, and we would have scored in the first 10-15 minutes, when we were on top. Instead we have to claw our way back against a team that is extremely compact, and will get more and more confident as the time goes on. Maybe we should get Big Sam in to teach composure and decision making in attacking situations.

I hope I will be wrong, but I can just imagine how this will go in the second half. Nothing will happen for a while, suddenly there is only 15 minutes left and we will start to panick. One or two half opportunities will present themselves, but it won't be enough to win.

Cavani has been shocking. I’d have him off for probably VdB and push Pogba up the pitch.

Loads of the ball but very few ideas with it and ultimately don't look like we have a clue on how to go about this game. We need to push this Brighton team back into their own box using a high tempo and good possession football, just seem really loose and disjointed on the ball at the moment.
