A Flick led Bayern are playing the best football in the sport but you're happy to lose him because you like Leipzig play? Wow.
Would i take Nagelsmann as a coach over Flick? Yes.
That is only my opinion. Btw, Bayern hasn’t been playing well this season. Their defense is the worst in many many years and they rely on Lewandowski bailing them out.

What do the Bayern fans think of Alaba's performance over the two legs?

I genuinely hope we do not go for him. As a midfielder and leftback he provides plenty of running but very little actual quality on the ball. I also think Goretzka would probably have finished one of those chances that fell to him outside of the box.

Bye Hansi. Hi Erik.
He would know what Bayern's plans are for players more than we do. If he feels the team may decline, that German National Team is a pretty sweet gig with all the young German players coming through.
Which are those?

The defense has been bad, but Bayern's collective unit on the ball is still amazing. Bayern in the first leg was truly great, for example. They are a team that creates A LOT (even if that was not the case today) and Lewa finishes those chances.

Overall, Bayern this season was plagued by tiredness, many injuries and lack of good bench. Still a truly top team. This season shouldn't take away Flick's credit from the previous season and how he drastically improved the team and rescued players that were in decline such as Müller, a season in which Bayern was steamrolling everyone after Flick took over, though he deserves criticisms for the defense now. He is still a top coach, let's not be immediatist, like when people wanted Guardiola out in City's last season and at the start of this one.

Fjortoft on Twitter is a proper source of information. Tells us what's being said on the same German Sky that everyone else is watching too, and then follows it with the most basic question possible. Amazing stuff.

Why are they doing this before a huge CL match?

Last week they told Boeteng they will not be renewing his contract right before the CL game too.

Truly bizarre!

Flick has been on collision course with the board and I don't quite know why. But one thing is clear, he's not going to get more power at Bayern, and why would he.
He can either be satisfied with what he gets or he can feck off if he prefers the Germany job.

Flick wants a better bench.

Flick did so much to Bayern, where is your gratitude for him? And I'm not even a Bayern supporter

I love what Flick is doing. It's amazing. But he doesn't get to complain about the squad.

And what is Bayern supposed to do, print money? Also consider that his wishes were Havertz and Werner... does anyone think those would have helped us especially for that money?
Bayern could just as easily ask where is Flick's gratitude, I mean Flick was a complete nobody as a coach, no BL club would have even considered him as coach and only the circumstances and some trust from our leadership gave him this opportunity. It's also not like anyone at the club doesn't recognise what he has done, he was and is constantly praised for what he managed to do.
That doesn't change that the club simply can't spent crazy money in Corona times and yet we still signed Sane and a couple of squad players, not to mention that we have a good youth setup with some promising talents. Musiala is the obvious one but not the only one especially if you look towards the next 1, 2 years.
So let's be clear here, this is a discussion initiated and kept alive by Flick. He could have easily ended like Klopp did but the truth is that he probably WANTS to be the german NT coach. That's fine by me (and many other Bayern supporters) but it's not okay if now the club is made the bad party in all of this. Noone at Bayern asked for all of this, Flick's contract was afterall signed just last year and always had complete support and despite everything Flick has recently said the club leadership has shown a lot of patience/understanding.

Because even Bayern-fans know, even if most wont admit it(this one did, by accident), that they will run all over the league no matter who the coach is.
Hence why they dont really care much about Flick either.

How dare the septuple winning manager complain about squad depth? This is Bayern Munich, you know. He should be lucky they even let him wear the badge on his tracksuit in training.

He got trusted to be head coach of Bayern München when his only previous managerial job was coaching Hoffenheim back when they were 4th tier, more than a decade ago. He's a known entity of course for his assistant role with the NT.

He did an amazing job, the stuff we play is exhilarating. He made us happy again. I wish he will stay as long as he wants, fecking legend.
But we are not going to change our club structure for him. He will not have the sole final say in transfers. He will need to get on with the sporting executive. It is what it is.

Bayern won the setuple also because of him. They wouldn't have won it with Kovac. Kovac could win Bundesliga, but not UCL for Bayern. And Bayern has problems of squad depth, I was thinking this even before this season started. And look how many injuries got Bayern, how Kimmich has played to exhaustion and so on. Bayern needs someone to replace Thiago and allow more rest to Kimmich.

Because even Bayern-fans know, even if most wont admit it(this one did, by accident), that they will run all over the league no matter who the coach is.
Hence why they dont really care much about Flick either.
But what about the UCL? Kovac won Bundesligas, but his Bayern wouldn't win the UCL, Flick improved Bayern's collective play almost overnight. Winning two UCLs in a row is hard, not even Guardiola's Barcelona did.
And what is Bayern supposed to do, print money? Also consider that his wishes were Havertz and Werner... does anyone think those would have helped us especially for that money?

The board has Corona now as a fair justification, but both Bayern's board and Liverpool's aren't far from Scrooges. They have been like this for years.

Lewa being injured and squad depth lost Bayern this tie, maybe Hansi had it right all along when he had the nerve to tell it how it is. That bench tonight was nothing if not shocking. Hope he leaves this job and does well for Germany. Hoeneß and Rummi can stick that Mia San Mia shit right up their.... If this was any other team then PSG I would have been glad but you guys had one job really and that was to save us from Oil polluted CL final.

Noone is expecting him to do that, why do you even bring that up? Again, he has the full support of the club and has never been questioned even despite some obvious problems this season. Everyone at the club understands that you can't have a season like last year every year.

The board has Corona now as a fair justification, but both Bayern's board and Liverpool's aren't far from Scrooges. They have been like this for years.
Because these clubs have to actually earn the money they spent. We (Bayern) also need to think about the future ie there will be a time when we have to replace players like Lewandowski, Neuer, Müller etc. and thus it doesn't make sense to spent crazy for some worst-case scenario or to increase the chance of winning the CL by like 1-2%.
Maybe that means you sometimes aren't at 100% in the present but it's always lead to long term success and stability and let's be honest even clubs like PSG or City aren't without limits in regards to who they can sign, not to mention that this is also not "news" to anyone. Our club structure has been like this for ages, it's part of the job and I'm sure noone promised Flick in the middle of Corona that we will suddenly make huge moves on the transfer market after just winning everything there is to win.
Just let me add that the problems in regards to squad depth are one of the areas where you can have valid criticism of Flick. Even Musiala didn't get many minutes in recent weeks despite the injuries and many games, not to mention that Flick did neglect a few other players. Don't get me wrong, that isn't a big issue for me but at the same time it's always easy for coaches to complain about squad depth and a lack of options but when it comes to using your existing options and developing players/talents they get defensive.
Hernandez for example has been our best defender all season and yet Davies was often preferred despite having a really bad season (I think everyone could see the difference between the two today too). So then you have people complaining about squad depth while a 80m player often sits on the bench...

I never diminished what Flick has achieved and simply stated, that i would preferred Nagelsmann as a coach if he became available. That is all i said.
and i know what is going on at Bayern and that it is always a power struggle. After all i have been supporting them for something like 35 years.

Which are those?
Musiala, Havertz, Wirtz, Adeyemi, Moukoko, Dardai, Baku, Rhein, Netz, Sieb, etc. Plus, Kimmich, Goretzka, Gnabry, Sane, Werner, Suele, Brandt, Ter Stegen are not that old. They have minimum 5-6 years left at the highest level. It would be a good gig for Flick.

He's alrady coaching Musiala and the best ones of the latter bunch. Of the rest, apart from Moukoko if he survives the hype mentally, I predict none will be top players. German talent is on the decline. It's really only Havertz.

Looked like Bayern really missed Lewandowski last night. Sane was awful in the final pass, something I'm sure that gave Bernardo the nod from pep over him on the wings. The defending was also abysmal but irrespective Bayern still have a very good foundation for a team.

Flick for me from what I've seen is a quality manager if he's got domestic ambition he should look to Spain maybe Barcelona / Juve.

For me, Adeyemi is an incredible talent. I think only injuries can stop him from reaching the top. I am surprised that you don't rate Wirtz.

The National Team results and performances in the last 5 years are Loew's fault. He is making the players look way worse than they actually are. This has maybe negatively affected your impression of the German talents. I mean yes there were 3 or 4 consecutive age groups which were relatively bad but there are finally good ones coming up so I don't believe that German talent is on the decline. These things can be cyclical. The national team has a lot of potential but needs the right coach.

As for Flick, Bayern would be stupid to let him walk away. I have a feeling that he wants to stay. If the rumors that he will replace Jogi come true, I will be delighted. For now I refuse to get excited over this. Regarding Nagelsmann, I think he should stay at Leipzig for a couple more years at the very least. Going to Bayern now is too early in his career. He doesn't need to rush. Still only 33. He is at the right place learning the ropes. He has his whole life ahead of him.

Sucks going out on away goals but thats how it is sometimes, we'll be back stronger next year. Good news is Lucas was finally getting to shine at CB really looking forward to the Hernandez-Uppemacano combo next year. Really getting frustrated with Sané though he's been awful lately and he dosen't step up in the big games, he dosen't have easy shoes to fill but i did expect more from him, his final pass and endproduct has been amateur like and his backtracking is non existent. Imagine if we didnt waste money on jesters like Sarr and spent them on keeping Perisic, oh well.

It might be caused by the fact that he does ignore some players, which could be a reason why key players are injured - they just played to much. This makes the situation now a lot worse then it might have been if he made better use of the squad he has.

Roca and Hernandez are the most obvious over the whole season, Musiala played very little in the last few weeks, and yes with the thin squad he has, using an academy player now and then in the league would have been a wise decision to prevent the best players from breaking down / being overplayed.

So that Hernandez is world's 3rd most expensive defender, right? Thought he was so poor yesterday and overall looks like a 6/10 player.

Their usual bench looks something like: Sane, Tolisso, Süle, Hernandez, Sarr, Roca, Martinez, Musiala, Choupo. It's not the best bench in the world, but it's not terrible either.
Like what's your point? Watched Bayern for the first time last night and think it was the best their squad had to offer in general?

It's fair to mention last CL campaign Bayern gained a lot from BuLi finishing 3 weeks before La Liga and 4 before Premier League. It definitely made them look better.

A bad Barcelona being thrashed 8-1 and only having to play one game per round also helped them a lot

Oh please, that bench is a mess by any standards let alone big club standards. My point is his complaints are valid. A midfield injury shouldn't cause so many parts to shuffle. How a club of that size, that regularly plays with 2 strikers find themselves with Choupa as their next option is baffling.

Their bench was a mess yesterday due to having something like 9 players out injured or with Covid. Their usual bench is absolutely okay and Lewandowski, Gnabry, Choupo is fine for the striker position.
Who would you have bought to sit on the bench there?
They should have kept Perisic though as stupid as that sounds...

They did incredibly well over the two legs considering their injury crisis but how on earth that a side like Bayern that have a stranglehold on the Bundesliga and are always in the mix for the champions league every season that they have had to resort their back up striker being choupo.

I did not expect Bayern to be so poor. Psg could have smashed them like they did to Barca.
Very fun game to watch though. Bayern normally gives you goals when they play.

I find it unbelievable that they've found an amazing coach and are seemingly close to letting him go away due to a conflict with Sporting Director.
