I work for BT and get BT Sport for free. For that reason alone, I hope it doesn't happen.

But it was the 'brainchild' of Gavin Williamson, who was pushed out of the door a couple of years ago, and shares have nosedived ever since it was brought in, so it's not surprising that they're looking to get rid of it.

Great, back to sky having a monopoly and not showing as many games as they should.

Hope Amazon buy the rights to the games they show.

Also hope whoever buys them gets LaLiga back on there.

I get it cheap with BT internet although I imagine that might go, won't be a bad thing as I'm stuck on the package cos the internet makes the BT Sports so cheap! (Fiver a month compared to about 35 I think) and then internet is awful.

Dazn are apparently the favourites and have been making a play at a lot of sports, they have matchroom boxing done apparently so I'd say they would be more competitive for Sky, especially if the price is afforadable.

So unbelievably sexist to be linking pink to femininity.

It’a not on Sky to choose how many games are sold for UK TV rights.

Was much better when everything was on Sky and you didn’t need multiple subscriptions. Will be interesting to see whether they bid for CL rights again.

Hopefully this means we’ll get rid of Darren Fletcher, Jenas, Mcmanamanananan etc. Just awful pundits.

So long as the rights are not sold to a streaming only service, I won't care.

Watching football on Amazon is shite.
Agreed.

I'm on either slow or average home internet and games on Amazon were so much more awkward to watch on the laptop than Sky through Now tv, or BT.
You literally can't be doing anything else at the same time, whereas Now tv/bt you can run Netflix etc on another session.

Ifollow is the only worse platform, for lower league stuff.

UCL back on itv please! The 15 mins analysis after the game was enough. Don’t need an hour to see why the left back was so influential

Why would you start a thread linking an article which is behind a pay wall, without copying the text?

From the headline alone, maybe Amazon will buy them?

I’m already a prime subscriber so Amazon would be great for me, £7.99 for the football & a big video library & free next day delivery, as opposed to £40 a month for virgin just to watch the football.
If they got the BT package it would deffo increase.

I have prime as well.

competition in this space has just caused the consumer to pay more if they want to watch everything.

In the past though we’ve had to pay top ridiculous prices to sky to see about a third of the games.

When they are the only provider it’s a nightmare in the UK.

Yeah I would be happy if everything was on one subscription however a lot of the time you would have games that weren’t televised. That improved when other providers took on other games to broadcast as well (as long as you had both subscriptions of course.)

I want as much football as possible. Not a set amount that sky can be arsed showing for a high monthly fee.

There's not a chance in hell Amazon would keep it as part of their £8 prime subscription if they did buy up that many games. I'd still expect it to be cheaper than BT though.

Since Sky no longer have a monopoly it's become more expensive to watch football. You have to have a Sky account, a BT account and even an Amazon account now to cover all bases unless you use rivers.

Why is it so good for fans to have multiple stations? I don't get the logic.
