Completely and utterly support the fans behind this. It's their city, their club. They have spent tons of money and emotion for many years and have every right to show their discontent.

Hard to feel too outraged at the copper getting some digs in. If we’re not going to let a few fans being thugs tarnish the protest as a whole I don’t think we can also take mortal offence at a few coppers getting carried away. For all we know they just saw one of their pals have his face opened with a bottle so understandable if they’re a bit strung out.
Centrist Dad angle aside, I don't think anyone was taking mortal offence. The angle being spun, however, is not that of a few fans being thugs by the media and a level of balance reflecting that in tense situations like this there'll be some who feel the need to be pricks amongst the Police as well as the fans is unlikely to be forthcoming.
...and I'll leave the fact that, being the Police, you'd probably prefer them not to beat the feck out of people.

It was a proud day. I've been going home and away for 20 years. I cant think of many better.

But you focus on that one incident mate.
I think it's important to bring it to everyone's attention so next time the organisers make sure something like this won't happen again.

I'm sure I've seen people saying that debts are normal in businesses here before, in an attempt to justify what the Glazers has done to United.

What were we doing between 1931 and 2005? Those people in charge of the club must have been pretty clueless back then.

Haven’s read any media coverage. Just seen loads of posts on here pointing out that a handful of protesters being violent arseholes shouldn’t distract from the bigger picture. Which I agree with 100%.

I just think it would be weird to simultaneously hold that few and get worked up about one or two cops giving someone a relatively tame beating. Now I don’t know if anyone really is worked up about that footage. I was just explaining why it doesn’t bother me. If anyone ever chooses to get involved in violent protests where police get hurt I would say a few digs from the boys in blue is an acceptable occupational hazard.

Proud to be a United fan today. It might have gotten ugly on a few occasions but overall this protest sent shockwaves throughout the football world.

Neither is acceptable.

What's the point of deleting it once it's gone viral?
It was posted on Twitter and was deleted for some reason, and sometimes stuff gets deleted from Reddit too, so I posted a Youtube link as a backup in case the Reddit video gets removed for any reason.

Apologies if I misunderstood your post/question

I’ve had a few pints this evening so I better hold my tongue lest I get banned from the caf, but I’m buzzing after these protests. Feck the Glazers, we’ve had enough. We had enough years ago, the message must continue.

It's a fair cop Sir although I'd argue that the violence on both sides is equally unacceptable and I'm fairly sure that the coverage will only discuss that unacceptability from one perspective.

You expect more from your police force.

You have to comment on everything remotely related to law enforcement, didn't you know?

Also, why the feck don't the cops do something about my noisy neigbours?
I think oddly some on the Caf will use whatever they can to justify violence. Not sure I understand really. Not of it is acceptable and you often find the ones trying to justify it have never been near anything like that in their lives nor will they ever.

He actually does do that, particularly in this thread, hence why I thought he'd be interested.
I took offence to you saying feck the police earlier as I have friends working today involved in that.

Give your head a wobble. You might be able to post something that doesn't sound like it's been put together by a child.

What had the guy who they were punching actually done? Or was just being there enough for you to be ok with it?

To be honest, I don’t think there’s much he could have done to justify summary justice from the cops. I’m not saying what they did was justified. It was definitely out of order. I just think a) it’s not a particularly violent/shocking incident and b) incidents like that are to be expected in skirmishes like we saw today.

Yes and no. With yank cops regularly showing us what it looks like to have law enforcement actually go rogue it’s hard to feel bothered about some low level scuffling during events like today.
Honestly, that's what I was thinking while watching that. If it happened here, no way it would have resulted with only a facial cut and a cop getting a few punches in. :nervous:

No I'm saying that I can't see the point of Riddit deleting it once it's viral. Once it's out there, it's out there but yeah there is no harm posting it from different sources so that we are sure it stays available. :)

Doubt they’d have gone home from the hotel if it was tomorrow.
Do they actually stay overnight in the hotel, or just meet up there though?

And it wouldn't have been decided by the time they'd left anyway.

You joke but this is genuinely one of the most common things police deal with

I am sorry if someone got hurt, but let's lay the facts here.
Glazers knew there will be protest today. They just don't want to put money in. In this case they were hoping that British government would pay for security. Another case of nonivestment from Glazers.

But anybody who has said that this has gone too far today.
just peaceful protest doesnt work on Glazers.

They have taken 1,5 billion pound out of the club
Club still has 500 million pound debt which is all on Glazers
Glazers have not put 1 cent of their own money into the club
During Fergies time under Glazers, Fergie made Glazers profit on transfers.
Carrington and our Academy needs investment
And as we could all see now, Old Trafford needs investment

And the biggest problem is that Glazers dont have money to invest and they WILL NEVER PUT THEIR OWN MONEY INTO THE CLUB. they wont.
Their rules are
1) Dividends for themselves
2) Debt repayments
3) plastering over the cracks
4) bonus payments to Glazer boardmembers for good for that they did last year
5) what is left goes to other boardmembers bonus payments
6) then comes transfers
...
104) investment into the club

sorry, but time is over for peaceful protest. It doesnt work on someone who is not human
So you suggest what? Violent protests? That's such a stupid notion - Against who exactly? I'm sure Joel Glazer wasn't even in the vicinity.
