He’s young, clearly has potential, can play right back, left back & has looked decent as a right winger. Probably a better option as backup to AWB than Williams?

Considering we’d probably lose money on him if we sell, worth bringing back? He’s got a good cross on him. How has his injury situation been this season?

We will bring him back I think, he's done good at Milan and was praised by Ole when we played them.

I'd bring dalot of our old players back, but not him.

Ole said Sanchez and Smalling would be coming back. I think he is doing the same here. He will be moved on IMO.

No. He’s not good enough for Milan and he isn’t good enough for us.

Still think we might go back for Trippier as sounds like it was on for January until he got the ban, yes I know that he's another one of those players who divides opinion on here

He got plenty of game time in Milan, and has done very well. We should have him back as a rotation option with AWB.

Really? Can't say I watch him religiously but having read some opinions on him on the Milan forums they seem to beg to differ. Looks like he had a decent enough start to his time there but overall they seem very disappointed with him looks to be better on the left too which would make him coming back even less likely when we have cover for Shaw with Telles already.

A lot of them seem to be questioning his defensive abilities, apparently not progressing enough on that front and seen a few of them suggest he'd be much better played further up the pitch. General consensus is that they wouldn't be sad to see him leave because Conti looks to be the better player.

A lot depends on if we're planning on bringing in a better understudy for AWB.

If we are, then obviously Dalot and Williams need to be loaned out again or sold. If we're not, then I think Dalot has more potential than Williams and I'd rather have him as understudy next year and Williams loaned out. Or maybe even use Tuanzebe there instead of either?

Personally, I doubt whether Dalot or Williams have what it takes to make it here. So a better understudy would be the ideal. But with more pressing areas to address, then I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't bring in an alternative understudy so I'd go for Dalot or Tuanzebe ahead of Williams (and Laird needs another year on loan).

Depends if Ole genuinely consider him as trustable squad player.

No point bringing him back to replace Williams when he's hardly played this season given he's the only understudy for AWB.

I think he'll be sold but we do need another right back as cover.

It's pretty impressive that Mourinho with all his Portugese and Porto connections went shopping for a RB at Porto and came out with Dalot instead of Ricardo. To answer the OP, it's not really a choice for us to make. Milan will send him back. Ideally, we'd loan out Williams and Laird leaving Dalot as backup RB for a season.

he’s youngish - I’ll give you that.

don’t want him back, don’t care if we lose money on him, that’s not a reason to keep him.

he was clearly a poor signing. Was he a Mendes client by any chance? Seen nothing in three years to suggest he’s going to make it.

I don’t think Ole rates him. When he started TFM over him, it was basically clear that Dalot will not have a career at Utd.

Is he still terrible at defending?

I like the idea of Dalot but every time he plays the entire right flank is like a gaping chasm.

Not good enough for us but better than Williams. Really both should be sold and we bring in better competition for AWB.

I would keep Telles and bring Tripper in. I'd sell Dalot.

He used to be lightning quick but injuries fecked him. Still has a decent cross but barely ever used it when he played for us... think he's just another Telles now

Is this the same Dalot we had here your describing?

Jokes aside, no offence, I’ve been waiting for the first bit of remote positivity from you and you come up with this? Dalot?

Diogo Dalot? He’s fecking awful.

Yeah this is what I'd look to do as well but would Madrid want to sell Trippier and would he want to come and be back up here? But a Telles like signing at RB and sell Dalot and loan Williams should be the order of business

Yep, both left in the same summer for the same amount of money. Madness.

Im not sure Trippier would be interested, he started in the potential title decider vs Barca yesterday, and we’re expecting him to accept playing second fiddle to AWB. I wouldn’t go for that if it was me.

Let's cash on him. Surely a team will pay £10 Million for him?

He won't ever be good enough to displace AWB so might aswell buy an experienced head or a better option than him to compete.

Same, although have no idea how either have performed on their respective loans.
Can't claim to have watched every MK Dons game but their fans rate him.

I reckon Laird should get a chance to show what he can do on pre-season tour. If he impresses he should be integrated into the first team squad. I can't see how he could be that much worse than Dalot and Williams have been for us in recent years. Got a lot of hope for Laird.

Cash in and reinvest if we can.

He's average, and isn't going to get much better imo.
