Pool will not come close to getting enough points for Top 4, LCFC will be fine.
Not sure about that. Looking at the fixtures and taking into account current form, Leicester could easily lose their last three games. Which would leave Liverpool needing six points out of twelve to finish above them, assuming they make up the slight goal difference currently between them.

To all those who wants us to lose just for Liverpool not being in Champions League, don’t you remember what SAF said about city ? That it was a small club because they were obsessed with us.
Meaning, if we want to go back to our former self we just need to concentrate on ourself, winning every game we are playing. Anything else is small time.
Don’t care about pool, if we go back winning they will be miserable anyway, champions league or not.

Keeping Liverpool out of Europe is in our interests. Keeping them in Europa is also in our interests.Tricky

I want us to win every game and I'll want us to win when watching in Tuesday. That said if we got to the end of the season and the scousers made top 4 in part because of the results we have on Tuesday and Thursday then I'd be disappointed.

They really don't deserve to get top 4.

I don't care whether we beat Leicester or liverpool. But we must win at least one of these games.

We have a small chance to win the league, can't stomach the thought of losing any points now.

Pool will not come close to getting enough points for Top 4, LCFC will be fine.
They’ve a great chance , Leicester have us , Chelsea and Spurs to play , not an easy run in

It's absolutely nonsensical to not want us to win.

Taking Liverpool out of the picture. If we win our next 2 games we could be 4 points off top.

I understand it's highly unlikely that we will win the league and it's not even a realistic thought right now.

But theoretically if we win these next two games we would be knocking on the door. Newcastle have hit a bit of form recently and have good form against City at home. 1W 2D 1L.

Then Brighton is obviously the unlikely one to go our way but they may still be needing a point to secure premier League status and may have an extra incentive of stopping a city title too. And then the final game of the season is a very well organised Everton side who are capable of causing an upset.

I know it's very unrealistic but while we are still in with a slight chance of winning our first title in pretty much a decade, then I think we should be focusing on ourselves.

I feel playing our players every game increase injury risk too. Thus I would not risk it against Leicester.

I say we can play this team. De Gea, Telles, Tuanzebe, Bailly, Williams, Matic, Van de Beak, Mctominay, Mata, Cavani, Diallo

It’s weird but I fancy us against Leicester even more with our B team.

Hm, difficult one. When I read the OP post I was going to say yes please, lose to Leicester and beat Liverpool. Yes I'm obsessed with Liverpool but so are they with us and it's a proper rivalry.

I had written off the title long ago however coming in and reading these posts I can't believe so many still think we have a chance, but it has got me thinking now...

Maybe I'm a bitter old man, but I still take great joy in watching our true rivals suffer.

Where we are now, (we can't win the league anyway), the next best thing is watching Liverpool not make the top 4 and taking solace in their fans suffering.

Agree which is why I want strongest team vs Liverpool to try to stop them.

Rather than have a tired 11 that fails in both games due to fatigue.

This. Everyone is ignoring the fact that if Liverpool miss put on Europe then they'll have around 48 games maximum next year and 40 games minimum. They don't have a squad to maintain their level of geggenpressengessenressen
Great point. I'd never thought of it that way. Knowing these feckers though they could just as easily go on and win the champions League anyway. Especially since the big European teams are not as strong as they used to be.

I am more worried on who is playing than the result. I will be happy if the lineup is after 9-10 changes.

If we beat both teams we’re 4 off City yet some people are more bothered about clubs further down

We can all hope that we win it all and City bottle 3 games, but it is not happening. We should have won other games like Leeds, Palace, Sheffield etc.

Win win win. Win all around us for the rest of the season. The closer we get, the more it's believable next season.

Fortunately Ole doesn't give a damn where Liverpool finish the season. He's stated many times before they take it one match at a time. That does not mean he will not have a future match in mind due to injuries and fitness but he's surely not thinking to himself, if we lose to Leicester, Liverpool lose out on CL.

Go for the win against Leicester, then two days later we go for the win against Liverpool.

Complete and total reserves for this and I still think we have a good chance. Leicester's heads have gone, the Newcastle match showed this, and they have the FA Cup final taking their attention.

Grant (Why not?)

Williams
Bailly
Tuanzebe
Telles

Mata
Matic
Van De Beek

Amad
James
Some u23 guy.

1-1.

Well it is mathematical possible, but I think the odds is like like 1/500 or worse. Ok I looked up the odds and it is 1/200 only, but that is bookies playing it safe I guess.

I feel for City not getting the 2 points they need 1/50 with the fixtures they got. Then for us to win it all with so little rest is like 1/10.

We literally wont play anybody who appeared today bar Henderson, Matic and Bailly.

The rest wont start 2 games in 3 days in a covid season. No chance.
This doesn't mean we will play for a loss. A weaken team for sure, but gear for counter-attack with James, Greenwood and perhaps Amad, might be as punishing. If Leicester looks for a draw then so be it. Remember Leicester also has a FA final coming up. B team Vs B team is also possible.

Would love for us to reach 80 points, just to psychologically put down that marker. Huge ask given our drop off in quality and surreal schedule.

If we rest all the main players on Tuesday and come away with a point I'll be happy.

Pep won't let his team drop 9 points, City have the title. Nevertheless, I want to finish on 82 points and could not care less about looking down at Liverpool. Leicester are my second team and have been for a long time, but United always come first for me and I'd never go into a game hoping we lost. I'd like to see a strong team personally, I know injuries and fatigue are a risk, but I'd want to see Rashford not play, Bruno play only a part and Shaw not play.

Hendo, AWB, Tuanzabe, Bailey, Telles, Matic, Mctominay, DVB, James, Greenwood Amad.

Cavni, Bruno and Pogba to come off the bench and be ready for Thurs. For some reason, our team seems to thrive with no rest. One thing for sure is they all deserve a massive breakbafter the 23rd.

I want us to win every game left. Also want Bruno to start these next two games as ive got him triple captain in my FF :)

But id take a draw and a win which means we should finish second guaranteed.

Watch us loose to BOTH Leicester and Liverpool.

No but seriously...we should aim to win every game in front of us. We are only now starting to look like a proper team.

Dunno about "even more," but...

I think we can get away with playing this team and it should be enough for a draw if we play well -

Henderson (De Gea v ‘pool)

Tuanzebe
Lindelof
Bailly
Telles

Matic
DVB
Mata

Greenwood (for a half if poss)
Cavani (as above)
Amad

As far as being bothered - I think all Utd supporters and players should expect to win any game, no matter the circumstances
I'd wager every one of this lineup would start for Newcastle, and most for West Ham, bar Amad.

I hate the idea that we will automatically lose because we're swapping out most of the squad. It'll be shaky, but look at Leceister's form over the last five.

Also, don't be surprised if Bruno gets the first half. He's gonna be in Ole's ear all day tomorrow.

Basically the same as most, as long as we play a complete second string I'm not too fussed what the result is.

I'd like to keep Liverpool out the top 4, but finishing as close to City as possible would also be nice.

Did a Utd fan really ask that? Why bother beating Liverpool?

Even if it is only a pre season friendly that thought should never enter any Utd fans head.
Not about losing to Liverpool. Read again my friend, and take the entire context this time.

The point was of course we want to beat Leicester, especially as we have an albeit incredibly slim chance of the league still and we don’t just want to roll over for City and let them win it.
But if we’re not going to put out a team to beat Leicester then why bother winning again, whether it’s Liverpool, Fulham, Wolves or whoever. Why did we bother beating Villa? We’ve already qualified for top 4, and we’ve got a European final on the horizon. May as well rest for that, but that isn’t what Man Utd are about. To quote LVG “we go for it!”.

This is too easy choice. With us nothing to lose, and a potential 50m loss to Liverpool by missing CL spot? That 50m could buy a decent player for them next season.

hmmm..
