I will console myself by going to the RAWK thread.

If we beat the scousers on Thursday that will really make up for today :)

Happy with that to be honest, lads gave a decent account of themselves considering the circumstances.

Some people i'm sure will make sweeping statements, but really, why anyone would making any judgements from a game like this is just silly.

Not the worst result considering the changes. I do think we need a crash course in set pieces alongside some good signings before next season though.

I guess, given the starting line up, we can't have expected much more than that.

Weird having lost but not really caring. Beat Liverpool on Thursday and play that same team from tonight in the last 2. Win the EL and finish 2nd. Decent season

Always going to be difficult with so many changes and players who don’t play regularly. Midfield was overrun. Would have liked to see some more from the players playing but onto the next one.

Well, that was a bit shit, especially the second half. This 'midfield' we had out there might as well have been off the pitch.

1 shot on target, Mata and Matic don’t have the legs for the premiership any more.

I know everyone wants Leicester to qualify ahead of Liverpool, but there’s just something really unlikable about Leicester. It may be Rodgers or Maddison’s stupid hair.

We already secured top 4 obviously but I hate to see us lose a friendly nevermind a Premier league game.

Still 4 more points needed to mathematically secure 2nd place.

Disappointing defeat, but we knew when we made the changes to the team that it was going to be a tough ask, we did well in the 1st half but feel we could have done better in the 2nd, the winner was avoidable, never sub on a corner!

We should be in good shape for Thursdays match which in all fairness is the one we want to win the most.

Ole playing a blinder making them subs before the corner and having Rashford mark their biggest target.

Edit. Didn't want to lose the game as I would rather City earn it, but I can look on the bright side, feck Liverpool!

Not bad considering the changes, thought both the young wingers did well. Greenwood again scoring is good too. Results at this point don’t really matter with us being top four anyway, and Fulham and Wolves should be winnable matches.

VDB was poor, especially in the second half. Elanga was also poor, but he is young.

Amad had some good touches. Greenwood probably our best attacking player.

As expected really. Good for some to get a run out, promising performances by a few and some clearly aren't good enough.

Onto the next one.

Think Matic & Mata shown theyre completely done at this level.

Tuanzabe seemed to have a very good game, a couple of moments on the ball were ropey but did well defensively.

Other than that I thought it was a good run our for a few players. Never want to drop points but this was probably the best scenario in which to do so. If we win on Thursday it will have been worth it.

Why are people so pleased we lost?
Because a win over Liverpool on Thursday night condemns them to Thursday nights, a serious hit to their income and the probable loss of their best player.

Well worth dropping 3 points in a title race that was over well before tonight. It makes Thursdays game a cracker now.

I'm way more pissed off about that than i probably should be

Leicester celebrating like they've beaten prime Barcelona, Rodgers the smug looking cnut
City confirmed as champions
The senior players stink the place out (including those who came on)
The PL making us play this game in the first place and essentially hand the title to City
We've now lost the joint least amount of games rather than the least

Feck this I'm off, let's beat the scousers (though looking at that defence without Maguire I doubt it)

I mean the game was a waste of time for most things, they didn't even look like they wanted it that much. But my takeaways...

Amad looked sharp but very clearly far away from being ready. Technically he's good, physically he is a child. Greenwood isn't that far off from being good enough to just become our main striker imo. Another year of learning under Cavani will do him wonders. Williams needs a loan/sale to the championship for his own good. Tuanzebe and Bailly are both really mediocre. Telles is a solid backup to Shaw.

Title was never for ours to get. I'll just repeat what I had said after Maguire's injury. Don't give a shit, play the best 11 against the Scousers, rest them all in every other game before the final

Never likely to get the win with the team out, which in the circumstances was the best we could. I think it was a respectable performance considering the situation. But never nice to witness a loss that hands City the title, no matter how inevitable it may have been.

I was hoping to see van der Beek play really well here, but thought he made some poor choices, he isn't very quick at all and while he called for the ball plenty, there are times his teammates just didn't want to pass to him. He has good intentions, but just isn't at that level yet.
