EL final is two weeks from the Leicester game. You don't think that would factor into player rotation so early?
It wouldn't if United was playing Liverpool on Saturday or Sunday instead of Thursday.

On the topic of early rotation before the EL final Villarreal already at it, they only started 3 first choice players against Celta Vigo at the weekend and lost 4-2.

Question.

If Chelsea finish 5th and win CL, they get in the CL are also pot 1.
If Chelsea finish 3rd/4th and win CL, they get CL, a lower ranked country gets promoted to group stage, but does Chelsea keep pot 1?

The way Leicester are playing, I'd doubt they'd even fancy their chances against our second team. Nervous bunch.
Not even against Sheff Utd to be honest, we played great first half against West Brom, Rodgers for some reason wasn't happy with that 45 minutes (even publically), and then the team has been timid since. We playing in a manner we scared of losing the ball so players cannot express themselves.

Fofana was running forward with the ball a lot in his early games, and isn't doing it at all now, everyone is playing with chains.

Basically am praying you guys go easy on us, we somehow get the win, and then for Liverpool to bottle a result or two, they themselves are still not at their best so that's the hope, but they are the favourites over us for sure now.

Also Maddison been forced back into the team at the cost of an in form Perez has upset the attacking harmony.

It's only true if we play our first team and lose.

Bruno Fernandes doesnt lose all his confidence when our U23 team loses.
Doesn't always work like that, our fall under Lampard started with the B team drawing to Krasnador.

If you do fully rotate vs Leicester it will still be first team squad players which will include players proven at the biggest stage like De Gea and Van De Beek.

Yeah I think one Chelsea win is enough. GD is good enough for all but some freak winning streak for Liverpool

Not sure if I have this right - so it's almost certain that one, if not two, of the top four EPL teams will automatically qualify for the CL next year by virtue of winning the CL/EL. Does that mean that the fifth placed team would qualify for CL? I think there's a five team per league limit for qualifying?
(Trying to figure out if pool have to finish fifth or sixth in order to miss out on CL next year.)

I think we only have 5 teams if a team that finishes outside the top 4 wins either CL or EL. If Chelsea win the CL and finish 4th it will still just be top 4.

5th gets a team CL next year if that team wins the CL this year. Hence just Chelsea could do that but shouldn't be finishing 5th anyway. Livepool need top 4.

If we finish in the top four and Chelsea finish 5th, then win the CL, they qualify as the fifth team from England along side the top four.

If United finished 6th and won EL, and Chelsea finished 5th and won the CL, then 4th place would drop from the CL to the EL.

United can't finish 6th barring points being docked.

So Liverpool need 4 more wins and need Leicester to lose in one of their remaining two games?

Not really. It’s pretty feasible that Liverpool could beat West Brom, Burnley and Palace and Leicester lose to Chelsea and Spurs. In fact, I’d say that may be the most likely outcome save for maybe Leicester v Spurs.

We beat Liverpool on Thursday. Chelsea beat Arsenal and then they and Leicester play out a scrappy, boring 0-0 draw against one another :D

There could be nothing significant to play for in the league on the final day other than who qualifies for the Europa League & Europa Conference League

Still fancy Liverpool. An extremely soft final 3 games which will wipe out Leicester's slim GD advantage.

Spurs to play party poopers on the final day.

Yeah but we're awful against 'easier opposition. More chance of us beating United away than an already relegated West Brom and Burnley.

Liverpool are 6th for a reason. Struggled to beat Southampton after drawing v Leeds and Newcastle. There is noting feasible about them going on a 4 game run. That game v Burnley stands out a mile to me.

It's not quite over. Result in Thursday is big.

Leicseter need 4 right now. That's assuming Liverpool win all their games.

Leicester have Chelsea and Spurs to play so could conceivably get 0 points.

So our game against them will be a major factor

If we beat Liverpool Leicester will need only a point to get CL football which I fancy them to get vs an average Spurs team.
No chance we lose twice in a week so reckon worst case scenario is a draw on Thursday but reckon we get all 3 points. People are giving LFC a little too much credit even though their remaining fixtures look easy on paper those are the games that have cost them this season and I won't be shocked if they drop more before matchday 38

Exactly so it's far from over. Leicesters last two games are very difficult. And bar us Liverpools are very winnable.

Leicester favourites for sure but a win for Liverpool on Thursday and things will be very sticky

I'm at a loss as to why it's even being asked.

Never before had a 5th spot opened up when a top 4 team has won the CL/EL so why on earth has so many people come to the conclusion that may be the case now?
