I doubt there will be much celebrating. A sigh of relief maybe and a little bit of anger over having to make it so hard on ourselves. This team is built to win the league and major trophies as evidenced by the way we battered united today.
So scraping to get in the top four if that happens will be nice but it should’ve been a given.
Yeah once every three decades

What happens if Chelsea finish 5th and then win the CL?

Liverpool will hardly miss out now. Ffs. I think that Leicester will end up 5th
Not a certainty at all to be honest I still think they could drop points in any of their last three games .
My prediction is Chelsea win or Draw against Leicester and both of them winning their last game while Liverpool slipping in one of their matches and missing out on Champions league.

Rubbish. No team 'built to win the league' is getting top 4 through the skin of their teeth.

To be fair, they're ravaged by injuries early on and have some amount of misfortune throughout the year. Of course I wouldn't feel bad about it considering the incredible amount of luck they had the previous year, so basically it all evened out. They over-performed in their championship season, and under-performed now. We'll see what happen next season, I'm cautiously optimistic we can better them with a couple of shrewd investments~

Liverpool have this in the bag now. Cannot see Burnley or Palace stopping them.

Leicester bottling it again will be annoying but seems very possible now.

We are literally the reigning champions.
And you're relying on Leicester to drop points to get CL football next year. Football changes insanely fast nowadays. You're current squad was so far off a title challenge/regaining the title it's not even funny. It's going to take a very good summer for you to be back in contention. Is that disputable? With all due respect, getting top 4 now would be a massive coup. That speaks to where you're currently at.

This simply isn’t true. At all.

Someone has been lying to you.

Let's be clear, a team battling with all their might to gain a spot amongst the top four is clearly not one built to win major trophies.

Delusion and arrogance in equal measure mate , Klopp has been with Liverpool for almost 6 years give or take and he has done great with them ,while two major titles including long awaited League title and seriously challenging for major titles couple of other times is impressive in Liverpool's context but it hardly screams of team built for regular title tilts.

Doesn't really matter that much imo, a Leicester win and a draw would both be nice since it would be in our own hands to overtake Chelsea. A Chelsea win would too, I guess, but then it comes down to goal difference if we win out and Leicester wins at home against Spurs.

Serious question
Are Liverpool going to parade the PL trophy in their last home league game against Palace as fans will be allowed back in?

I’m Sure Klopp mentioned doing this

It would be super strange to see Liverpool AND Man City going that!

feck it, every team that's ever won the league should do it. Dust off those trophies and join in the ridiculousness.

Liverpool will win their 3 games and Chelsea will beat Leicester. Same top 4 as last season.

Delusion is incredibly strong amongst the Liverpool fanbase. This is a result of 3 decades of pain and misery and Andy Carrol.

Spending too much time on RAWK - buying into the fairy tale nonsense they peddle over there daily - can also negatively affect your psyche.

It's all very very sad.

Would they both be lifting the trophy on the same day / will both have the home game with fans on the same day?
Hopefully this happens so we have something to laugh about on the last day.

 ffs

The “team that’s been built to win the league and major trophies” is currently fifth in the league and knocked out of all cup competitions weeks ago. Was it built by Bob The Builder?

If Pool make Top4 that's extra 40M+ just from tv money, would allow them to make 1 or 2 decent signings. This season was tight and if United sign Pau or Kounde + Sancho then they should be the main favourites. Also Chelsea they have a lot of depth and individual quality, 2-3 good signings and on paper it's between them and United. Pool add Konate+2 squad options, Thiago in his 2nd season, VVD+Jota stay fit and they're up there targeting 85pts+finish.

They will probably bring out the CL trophy they won a couple of seasons ago. Think they did that last season when they lifted the PL trophy in their empty stadium.

Can't believe everyone is certain Liverpool are going to cake walk to 9 points in their last three games.

Crystal Palace is their bogey team (remember that 3-3 comeback?) and the other two are always annoying to play.

Benteke is going to cost them top 4, you read it here first :)

Urgh! Every couple of posts the same question. Read up the rules or the thread.
5 teams can qualify for the CL. 6 teams can’t. So 4th - let’s say Liverpool - would only miss out if:
Chelsea finished outside top 4 but won the CL
AND
Arsenal finished outside top 4 and won the EL.
Because if not then England would have 6 teams, but this is not allowed so 4th would miss out.

From the BBC website:

"Why Liverpool suddenly have top-four finish in their own hands
After Liverpool's significant victory at Manchester United, BBC Sport analyses the race to qualify for the Champions League."

1. Why? Well I imagine winning games of football has something to do with it.
2. It's not in their own hands.
