Feel we should go with a strong 11. Get abit of confidence back into the side.

This should be the game where we should be cementing 2nd place and also we don't want to finish too far behind city.

Only watching this for the crowds to be honest. We really shouldn't play any first choice for the final.

Yes but it needs to be a ‘good’ second place don’t you get it? Not just any old second place!
Yeah even that boat has gone, it's not a good second place regardless of how results for the remaining games

Anything short of a big win - against a side that I think is at least as poor as Sheffield United - would show how little progress we have really made. Some people are calling it irrelevant - nothing United do is irrelevant to me.

Please Ole, don't go with the usual seven holding midfielders...

They have as much goal scoring prowess as me with both legs broken and blinded in one eye
That's roughly about as strong a Sheffield United, who beat us 1-2 at Old Trafford.

This is a game we could easily drop points in if we take our eyes off the ball.

The Blades were in with a tiny chance of staying up back then. Fulham are done

I still remember when relegated Cardiff came to OT on the final day :nervous:

When we were already in free fall having been trashed by Everton. I don’t believe we even qualified for UCL, did we?

We have this time and I think we’ll have fans there for the first time. I can’t believe we’ll be so tepid again.

I've been wanting the likes of Leicester and Chelsea to lose, to help us guarantee 2nd before these last two matches, rather than win to help hinder Liverpool. And, despite the 'mocking certainty' of others on here, it's a damn good job they did lose some of those as, even so, 2nd isn't a certainty and 3rd only is because they play each other and can't both win.

We now have to take this game serious if 2nd place is a priority - which I think it is for Ole - as the Wolves game is a likely draw or defeat as it simply has to be a similar team selection to the Leicester match with everyone rested for a final in Poland just 3 days later.

This is why the rearranged Liverpool game wasn't just about 'one match'. It made all 3 games in 5 days less likely to win and in turn, depending on those results and on Chelsea and Leicester results, put more importance on the final two games which could, otherwise and ideally, have been meaningless.

Form and rhythm isn't something you just turn on and off at will, so we don't want to go into the final on the back of 4 disappointing results and missing out on 2nd place. Nor do we want to have to secure 2nd place by risking players v Wolves. So, in that respect, it's important to win this game.

We shouldn't risk anyone still struggling after the crazy schedule, but should otherwise go with as strong a line up that's available and make sure of 2nd place and then go very weak v Wolves.

The we only finished x points behind the champions trophy is a big one

You’re quite the optimist in general I’d say , you are mentioning Fulham like they’re world class or something . We will easily beat these and even a draw will guarantee us 2nd. I can’t see Leicester beating Chelsea

Win this for people like @Gavinb33 and his brother.
    Thanks man

Should be noted due to the 6pm kick off this has cost me a lot and I have to leave my brothers place at 5.20am to get back down south Wednesday.

We do need a solid win though to take some form into the final don't want to be going into the Villareal game, we don't want to go in with one win in 6 or whatever

I really don't understand cheap and silly comments like this.

I made no reference to Fulham's ability either way. And in no way said it would be a really tough game if we put out our strongest team.

I simply said that, due to the last two defeats, we now do have to take the game seriously if guaranteeing 2nd is a priority - which I think it is for Ole, to prove progress - as I don't want any of our first teamers selected for the Wolves game and so we need to get the job done v Fulham.

I'm not sure why that led to the latest mocking post.

You mean the match where we dominated and had a good goal disallowed and they had a goal that should have been disallowed which was confirmed by a referee's report?

I hope that there at no protests in the ground on Tuesday. I hope Ole picks his strongest side and doesn’t take it as an easy win because it’s Fulham and they have been relegated. Score two or three and then bring off the main players after 60 minutes. Ditto at Wolves.

Fulham are quite a odd side.
In one minute they can look resilient, dogged and have a good shape about them and then the next few minutes they've conceded two goals and end up losing all 3 points.

Being the second best team in the league is an achievement I’m pretty sure Ole and the players would take. Seeing how we were written off at the start of the season and Chelsea, Pool and City were going to fight it out for the top 3 spots, whilst it was us, Leicester, Spurs etc all going to battle for 4th.
No one is saying there’s a trophy for it, not sure where you get that from, you achieve by doing better than the previous season.

I hope the game goes ahead, as worried it’ll be protested off, as fans will have access to the stadium, but you can guarantee that fans not there to watch will try use that to access the stadium.

Thought the match was today at 6 pm and was wondering why there were no lineups in the thread and why the thread was pretty quiet. I am two days early

Oh ffs. I thought that this match was today. Why couldn’t the Liverpool game have been moved to this weekend if we aren’t playing?

Edit: I see Pool are playing right now, so that answers my question.
