Thornberry would be better but Burnham would be a lot better than the other shambling mounds of shite who seem to inhabit the Labour front benches these days. Even the principled ones that I like just come across as a bit useless / back bench fodder. Nandy is the fecking wurst.
As competent as Thornberry has been in several shadow briefs any chance of the leadership ended on 20th November 2014

It may be positive to have someone from areas that are a stronghold but whilst I don't follow it too much, I'm not sure he's changed the big things in Manchester.

He couldn't get the councils to agree on the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework which was a big thing for years and now scrapped.

It's not a very good scandal is it?
I don't think it's that it was a scandle... it was more the thing that was seen as a turning point in defining Labour's front bench as metropolitan elites who sneered at their traditional support... which is kinda a huge problem for them still (I'd suggest one of th me reasons people are suggesting Burnham is that is isn't another London mp)

So yeah in the grand scheme if scandle it's not that relevant... in terms of ending her chances of becoming labour leader... 100% finished

I certainly don't remember it, not sure it could end her chances completely. Burnham has a questionable history as well on some topics, doesn't mean he wouldn't come across better now. What did Boris say about the blue collar man?

Yet there it was front and centre as she failed to make it on to the leadership ballots in 2020
