He seemed to be slipping on the pitch rather than falling over. Think the pitch was obviously sodden and made the ground a bit too lose, he did a few quick turns and you could see he lost his footing.

lovely movement + first touch for the long ball from De Gea, I love that he instinctively looks to get in behind defences, he doesn't just stand there ball watching.

I do think he deserves more time, 8 minutes at the end of a frantic match just isn't enough. I hope he starts on the weekend personally.

He's clearly got the talent but he's going to need time to adapt to the league. Ole knows what he's doing, I'm sure we'll see him come into the team in the next season or 2.
Just one thing I realised after the game last night — Amad, like Pogba, is a Muslim so he was probably partaking in Ramadan. Possibly goes some way to explaining Solskjaer’s reluctance to use him over the last month?
Good point, never even thought of this.

Reasonable cameo with some good turns and touches but ultimately got nowhere. I'm also not sure what was going on between Rashford and him with that long ball, they both got in each others way.

He's a long way from the level required but i don't think we plan to use him regularly for another year or two at least. He's got the skill but lacks the strength and decision making, a summer in the gym should do wonders for him.

18 years old and physically still just a young kid.
Some develop physically much later than others and with Amad being quite small in the first place, it’s likely he’ll not be up to the physical demands of the PL for at least another season, maybe two.
I suspect we’ll see a bit more from him in the 1st team next season, but he won’t be a regular starter for a long time yet.

It's good control, but I can't work out if he'd just been better letting it go through for the on running Rashford? If it had gone past the last defender, which I can't work out if it was or not, then Rashford would've been through on goal.

A couple of times he was trying a dribble too many, but other than that I really liked what I saw. He's very composed for such a young player. And the weight of his pass when he put James through was just perfect.

Really looking forward to see his growth next season!

Doesn’t half get stuck in. He’s raw but you can see there’s a very good player in there, very excited to see his career progress.

Told you he’s not far off. Ole is going to do 19/20 Greenwood on him next season, slowly integrate him to first team and then all of sudden will start more games.

Very good performance for him. Definitely should be on bench Wednesday.

Think we can focus recruitment away from front 4

Looked decent. Best moment was his pass for Dan James' big chance in the 2nd half. Kept it very simple. One shot that was deflected then saved. Two successful dribbles out of 6 attempts. Too many backwards passes for my liking.

His not shy and very well understands the pace of the league. I think his problem is the physicality of the league. I'm not sure if he will get enough games next season to really adapt to it

Quality and intelligence. Very comfortable playing as a false 9.

Caf: ‘We need to be signing the likes of Sancho before they go to Dortmund’.

Well, this is what it looks like. Yet the impatience of many show that it’s lip service for me, as they would gladly pay the big money for Sancho to take away opportunities for Amad because he is two years older and more cooked.

For me, when we missed out of Sancho last summer, we signed an alternative, which was Amad. Let him grow.

He's gonna be absolutely class. His touch and technique is amazing.
Yup. He needs time to develop the cutting edge - a lot of his final third stuff downer come off, but that's how it goes with young players.

When it comes to quality on the ball, he looks fantastic. Tons of natural talent to work with.

There's nothing wrong with Amad being backup for now. To someone like Sancho.

There’s nothing wrong with him being back up for Greenwood. And it seems poor future planning to buy two right wingers of 19 and 21 for big money. Make a decision.

He is really good, you can see the talent in terms of his technique, dribbling skill etc. Some poor decisions in the first half but he'll learn to let the ball go in time.

The only thing that might prevent him from becoming world class is his lack of pace. A bit like a slow Hazard right now.

Excited to see him in a fully functioning team against weaker defences.

City do it. There the benchmark. Theyre who we will need to try better.

It’s one thing to have two wingers, it’s another to buy two young ones who need football.

If we bought Amad and a 28 year old to start, fair enough, but it seems just impulsive to buy Amad and Sancho. Doesn’t demonstrate that you actually know what it is you’re trying to do over the next 5 years.

We aren't "develop random young players FC". We are at a point where we want to challenge for the title. Amad will get his chances. He's nowhere near the level of being actually usable in most premier league games, he needs competitive games to get used to playing men's football more than anything. To challenge for the title, we need someone like Sancho in there. Amad will have his chances and get his games in the future, but he's not gonna be more than a fringe youngster getting a few minutes here and there next season.

Amad wasn't really for big money. Sancho will be. Mason will eventually be a striker. Already is, just coming off the right.

Do you guys think him & Greenwood are enough for the RW position next? or do we bring in Sancho?

I think we should bring Sancho, but at the same time Amad will need as much as game time he can get to develop.

We are if we choose to buy them.

And he’s obviously not a fecking ‘random young player’, he’s one we have made a significant investment in and obviously believe in.

Rio purring over him right now

Like Jenas said on commentary (the only decent thing he did say) the kids just got 'it'. You can see why he was so hyped in Italy

Why is that any better ? If Sancho is as good as a 28 year old, it makes no difference. Ferran Torres / Silva and Mahrez is for some reason fine?

We don't need to take a decision. We need to build a squad of quality players

Cant have enough quality so I would definitely add Sancho to our wide options next season. Plus, some argue Sancho's more effective on the left.

CB and CM are more important than RW imo

Greenwood absolutely has to be week in week out next season with Amad and then James the back ups

Rubbish. Amad has played about three games and we’re a couple of injuries away to fielding Dan James every week.

Greenwood, Rashford, Amad and (yes) Sancho on the flanks is exactly the kind of options we need if we are to actually make a dent against City.

City choose between Foden, Sterling, Mahrez, Torres and Bernardo in these areas. What’s the issue?

Of course he was for big money. He cost 20-40m and had played less than one hour of senior football. It was not even close to being the going rate.

Thought he showed lots of moments of great touches and gliding with the ball. Would have liked to see him sprint at players more, a lot of it was casual give & go's. Little drops of the shoulder here and there, but nothing explosive. I expect more running at players from the left and right wingers.
