Pig sick of rashford walking around injured all game long - every game - James is no United player I know but I’d prefer him over Rashford at the moment tbf

Not good enough to beat Villareal?

We lost tonight because Ole is not good enough. We had this game in our hands and pissed it up the wall because our manager is a deer in fecking headlights in these occasions.
We played our first choice XI, due to injuries. The Cafe is currently whinging that the manager got his subs (players and timing) wrong. So, if the starting XI needs 5 subs to beat Villareal, how are they good enough?

Look, you can say what you want about not having a good enough subs bench to make replacements earlier, that may be true, but EVERYONE knew that Dr Gea is hopeless on penalties and Henderson is good at them and yet he didn't make the sub, just dreadful management there.
You are right! Of course the most important sub is the keeper we think will save some penalties. Ddg is the best keeper in the game, bur he is useless in penalties. Make the f ..ing sub and make the opponent start thinking.....

If you and others like you are so fecking clueless and cannot see it's 99% down to the manager today, I suggest you go to a netball forum because that's where you fit in in terms of football knowledge.
It always is the fecking manager with this fecking forum.

Was always the manager with Jose, LVG, Moyes. Always the fecking manager.

If every time we lose you blame Ole, I suggest you go support Rangers/Celtic who win all the time. Maybe then you'll be happy.

That was our best team out there no question. Lack of squad depth and quality in about 3/4 areas is what stops us winning matches like this. Not the coach. The game plan was fine the quality isn’t

I can`t see, De Gea ever saving a penalty again. He has not saved one out of the last 36 penalties against him. No top club can have a keeper, who is that bad at saving penalties. It is not a small part of the game.

So our manager doesn’t make require subs as always, fails to win in full time against a much inferior team but it’s all our GKs fault as he didn’t bail us out in penalties l. Embarrassing really to see all the blame going De Gea’s way.
He's the highest paid goalie in the world who had to save 1 of 11 penalties. He didn't come close on most, even though he was off the line on half of them.

Rashford needs to fecking fix himself and put his fitness as a priority over playing in the euros.

Every season that fecking guy is limping around.

We really should go for Sancho because you just can't rely on our wing players. Too inconsistent and always crocked.
Absolutely. But he’ll go to the Euros (shouldn’t on form) then have some sort of operation and be out for the start of the season...you can just see it.

Rashford was poor, Pogba was poor, Mctomminay looked more likely to create something than Pogba. Bruno was marked out of the game and we had no plan to deal with that.

Subs were late and inappropriate. Rashford should have come off, Greenwood should have stayed, Taunzebe should have come on earlier.

Finally Henderson should have been in for the penalties.

This trophy is nothing, most fans doesn't care if we win or not. I just pissed with how Ole plans for this game. Pre-game, in-game substitution, tactics, extra time and penalty shot out. He should have drop Rashford if he is not up to it. He should sub him in the 70 mins if he is still shit. He should told Henderson that if it goes to penalty, I am counting on you. Have Henderson practicing saving penalty, analysing all the Villareal players preference spots. That's how I see it. Ole is just not good enough for me.

This was not on De Gea or any players - absolute diabolical game management from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

That's his ceiling - not being able to beat even a mediocre Spanish team - United should get rid, if they had any balls and foresight.

Rashford should have been replaced for James or even Amad or even for water boy. Why no subs at all? Why Ole? Mata could have open them up, the pace was slow like shite anyway. Not puting Hendo in for pens is beyond me...

Now we can see that Ole thinks that our bench sucks. So we need to replace more players than 3.

Another season without a trophy. Again... How long can we call ourselves a TOP club? We hae history but no trophies (from recent years).

fecking penalty merchants must have spent the last month practicing 10 men behind the ball, set pieces and penalty kicks. Dragged us down to their shit tier and beat us with experience. Gutting loss.

Again its a real shame the players weren't able to win it for Ole. Its sickening how some of caf are so entrenched in their hatred for this man, when he clearly has the club at heart and is building towards something great. How could you possibly put the blame on him for not winning the penalty shootout!?

We dominated the match from start to finish. They scored their only shot on goal. Its incredible how we weren't able to win. But those are the fine margins. If we had a better midfielder or winger/striker upfront we might have turned those draws into wins. Someone like Kane or Sancho.

Conceding the first was always a killer. I really really really think its time to replace lindelof. We can't possibly be using him in the first eleven next season. The man is a walking mistake. How many times has he cost us in big matches? Last season against sevilla was him too. This year against moreno as well. Just simple defending really.

The club needs to back Ole in the summer now. There are alot of players available at cheaper prices after covid has ravaged finances.

Now is the time to spend and take us to the next level. I have no doubts that Ole will be able to win a trophy next year and compete for the title if he gets his 3 players.

massive ole fan.. but that was really really poor. The summer business we do is massive now. Next season is huge, bigger than ever:
He’ll never win anything, so your saying let’s give to 2023 and still no trophies?
That will be 6 years, it’s bad enough that he defends the owners but he’s clearly clueless in big games, you don’t lose 4 semi finals and a Final unless your doing something wrong !
I love ole, I do but a player who was clearly world class was happy to sit on the bench because he believed other players were better than him, he loves talking about Sir Alex, but he’s the manager and unfortunately ole is not and will never be an elite manager Never

I would be flabbergasted if anyone defends that cowardly managerial performance from Ole.

To go from being utterly dominant in sec half to giving all initiative back to opposition because of cowardly tactics of not making subs can never be defended. He is limited average manager and under him we will never take the additional step to actually win anything.

Thanks for the 2 years but time to move on and hire a manager that can take a very good selection of players into a team.

He’s the bloody manager and he sat on his hands for 105 minutes!

Why is he bulletproof to you? Did you feel this way when fans turned on LVG or Mourinho?
He's not bulletproof.

But I don't fecking call for his job every time we lose.

Get over it. We lost. But this is not on Ole.

We lost on Pens.

If we'd won.

NO ONE WOULD GIVE A SINGLE FECK.

Give fecking over it will you, Ole is our manager and he is here to stay. We're moving in the right direction.

The way the subs went there’s no way we didn’t have an eye on penalties much earlier than the opposition manager. Can’t think of anything less like Manchester United.

Whilst I’m disappointed not to win it, I think we have to accept that there were two evenly matched teams out there tonight and they edged it. We’re kidding ourselves if we think that we can challenge the likes of City and Bayern etc now or at any time in the near future. Next year, we should really focus on winning one of the domestic cups to get ourselves back in track. However, all in all, 20/21 hasn’t been a bad season.

Result is on Ole. Team was more than good enough to win. We dominated the match, but Ole's refusal to make any substitutions meant the players had no energy in extra time. Ole is content for the game to go to penalties. Not good enough, especially given his personal history, why does he play for penalties? Really annoying.

How does he select de Gea over Henderson for the most important game in several years for this club?

As garbage as Rashford was, wasn't Fernandes offside on the build up to his chance?
I don't give a shit. A "world class" striker starting for Man Utd finishes that chance, or at least hits the fecking target, even if the provider is offside.
How many times have we had goals counted cause an arm hair was playing the attacker on? The striker should do his job and let the provider worry about offside.

You don't even know what 'game management' means. It's just something you've picked up and think it makes you sound knowledgeable.

Y’all fecking bang on about United not needing a player like Ronaldo... days like today are those when we need players like Ronaldo because they drag inexperienced youngsters up. They know how to win. It’s been the case with United for years

Really just poor game management. Yeah we can go on about the fact DDG didn’t save any penalties, Rashford missing a sitter ... all true. But my biggest issue is how we approached the game. Muddled, negative. And that nothing changed.

Game started well, but then we played into their hands, static, slow, tired, got worse as game went on. Disappointing, need to improve our depth. A big wake up call and a big summer ahead

Give it a rest lads. Spare us the outrage. Just take it on the chin.
Yes, agreed. 11-10 on penalties; shit happens. It was the narrowest possible way to lose. Of course we should have won it second half, but we didn't have the creativity to unlock them. Well done to Villarreal for sticking to the game plan and maintaining their concentration.

We already knew this team isn't the finished article. That remains the case.

Yep. Everyone wanted DDG to start yet now he should have been subbed??? It’s funny that. Henderson might have cocked up a lot more like he did in his last game at OT, but but he should have come on ...

That's not fair, he only had a striker the Cafe desperately wants us to sign up front with Son out wide. It's not like he was managing Neymar and Mbappe and couldn't win an one horse race.
Yeah exactly! The fecking state of some of these people.

We didn't play great

Ole really should have made changes earlier. Villareal dominated extra time and looked far fresher

Surely after the weekend he must have thought Amad/Mata/Van De Beek could make a difference

Anyone with a brain and functioning eyes who's not on the Glazers' payroll or in the Ole cult can see the problem today.

You are delusional.
