Have ye seen 'Sorcerer' a remake of 'The Wages of Fear' fae 1953? Both of them great, great films.
Yep it's my favourite of Friedkin films although he has got so many great one tbh. I've still got to see the 1953 film, just haven't found a decent copy of it.

I hope that Chloe Zhao doesn't spend too much time doing silly childish Marvel movies. One of the very few directors around right now whom I feel I must see what she is doing next. Nomadland looks fantastic! My local film theatre (when it opens back up) will be screening it. Everyone should check out 'The Rider' and 'Songs My Brother Taught Me'.
I was thinking the same, the cinemas over here open up next week and Nomadland does look interesting. Didn't know she had a marvel film coming up, hopefully it's a one off and maybe it's just a job she has taken so the studio will fund any future projects(I think Nolan had this type of arrangement with the Batman films)

Whereabouts are you located? BFI (British Film Institute) released an absolutely smashing copy of 'The Wages of Fear' on Bu Ray back in 2017. I think you can also stream films on their website, would imagine you'd be able to get it there, too.

Cheers, yeah I'm in the UK. Just added the blu ray onto my list.

Thanks.

He was on my copy of Woman is the Future of Man/Tale of Cinema last night espousing the brilliant naturalistic quality of Hong Sang-soo's character interaction.

I'm not surprised he can't enjoy superhero movies when he likes pretentious arty types having personal breakdowns over soju.

Kumail Nanjiani transformation into a marvel star is something from a horror movie.
What's going on there? He looks massive even compared to his look in the trailer, let alone before he started hitting the gym. I'm assuming he's just kept going with the crazy workout schedule and 'vitamins' that he may have been on while filming? Surely it's not healthy to keep going like that.

Yeah putting aside the use of steroids, I can't imagine this is a healthy lifestyle(I could be wrong but I think he only started this insane workout around 2019).

If anyone believes that isn’t down to ‘gear’ they need to take a trip down to the nearest body building gym

I guess it's bad PR but still I'm a bit surprised he hasn't come out and said it. It's very clear the guy is/was on steroids. Tbh just give him the Oscar now, how many actors would get a new jaw line for cameo role in a marvel film. That level of commitment and insanity should be rewarded.

I mean she's clearly joking, the stand up fashion designer bit makes it pretty obvious, even I got that and I'm someone who falls for banking scams on a monthly basis.
Not that it matters, fans of that Joker film are rabid, she should invest in security asap.

Marvel movies are what happens when you give a team of meme creators a billion-dollar budget.

I recently discovered that a 15 year old Joaquin was in the Viper Room with his brother the night he OD'd. Not particularly pertinent but whaddyagonnado.

Pff. Next you'll be telling me Chris Hemsworth isn't clean.

I mean that's just good nutrition right there.

Doesn't really belong here but I can't think of another thread for it, so I'm going with "Martin Scorsese would let Batman eat out Catwoman" as my argument.

Two points I would note are 1) some people have really unhealthy attitudes towards sex and 2) that Harley Quinn cartoon series is easily the best superhero TV show around atm.
