How long do we think it will be before we’re all complaining that we are playing him on the left, moaning that Rashford isn’t playing well enough on the right and it should be Greenwood starting on the right if Sancho is playing his best football from the left?
No chance.

He will play close to 50% of his games for us from the left. I’m certain of it. That’s not a bad thing, the important thing is that we will have quality in depth on both sides of the pitch.

Agreed. Sancho being right footed is more natural for him on the left IMO as he isn't one of those out and out winger like Valencia was for us.

However it's only a good thing that he can truly play on both sides of the pitch.

I totally understand the argument that if we sign him now and he has a awful injury at the euros we've fecked up....so best to wait until after.

BUT, doesn't that work both ways? What if he has a blinder of a tournament and attracts new interest from across Europe? If some of Europes big hitters can clear some players and free up some funds who's to say they won't come in and snap him up?

I hope the club get this right.

Doesn’t he play 95% of his games on the Right though?

It's a silly argument. Literally anything can happen but if you worry about it you'll never sign anyone.

Moreover the players we already have could sustain a career ending injury at the Euros but what can you do?

Cristiano 04/05 used to play prominently on the right but as old legs of Giggsy weren't blistering fast as they used to. It was against Arsenal in the Highbury United in black. Ronaldo Scored both goals that turned the match upside down from the the left and was assisted once by Giggsy from the right flank! Scoring from mulitable options is a great factor in creating a team that can challenge for a tittle against the oil funded projects.

He won't play on the left so that Rashford can play on the right though. If Sancho isn't on the right then Greenwood or Diallo will be.

Who cares about rashford. He needs the competition. He has shown he is horrible in decisions making and lacks a footballing brain. Has so much more to offer.

If Sancho comes in and adds competition on both sides, great. Even better actually.

Also, why the ef is everyone so fixated on having a dedicated left and right winger. We played some amazing football with park, tevez, rooney, ronaldo, nani etc all playing in all front three positions. During the game they would switch it up constantly. Helps being two footed too.

So how about a front three of rash, mason and jadon but they dont stay static?

No, he mostly plays on the left these days, occasionally switching to the right.
He’s been much better and more productive on the left.

According to the BBC, £11m of what we pay to BvB will go to Man City. The sell-on fee included in his transfer from the Bitters to Dortmund.

Spot on. Also, (and I keep repeating this on here) - it's been reported that Rashford is still carrying a shoulder injury and may need surgery after the Euros. He could miss part of next season - so it's good that Sancho can play well on the left.

Imagine our front three options next season:

Sancho - Cavani - Rashford

Greenwood - Cavani - Sancho

Sancho - Greenwood - Rashford

Greenwood - Cavani - Rashford

EDIT: I've just realised I've not even considered Martial - there's even more options!

2 games in. Then its free reign to shit on Rashford because he can't play from the right.
Theres no point in signing Sancho if we play him from there. Its better if we use that money for a top striker or midfielder in that case. Its ok saying City have strength in depth but they have strength all over. They havent got 3 great options on 1 side and threadbare in the other. Thats lopsided squad building.

You think Ole gonna dump Rashford/Pogba on LW in 50% of the games? I dont quite see it, especially when our right side is devoid of options.

I do agree that Sancho is probably better at LW, and that the front three will interchange a lot.

They’ll all rotate during the game - Sancho, Rashford and Martial could be an incredibly fluid front three...if we can encourage Anthony to move now and then
They will be a particularly awful front 3 unless Sancho loves the 6 yard box, because Rashford and Martial are alergic to it.

And Pogba :) though with those amount of options Pogba might play more in the middle. Still think Ole doesnt necessarily trust him there though, at least not against the better sides.

Do you watch Bundesliga?

I don't, but whoscored have him on the right twice as often as the left for the season just gone.

Translation: A year too late, but will it finally be successful?
Several of the most important parties involved in the transfer feel increasingly confident that things are going well.

I‘ve watched a fair bit, but I’ve read what German commentators have said as well.
Are Whoscored just giving starting positions or is it from actual play or heat maps?

If you want a quick and dirty idea, have a look at video highlights, not only of Sancho, but of BvB’s general highlights.
I know these vids only show the best moments, but as I said it’s a quick and dirty look.
A lot of Sancho's goals and best bits come from a central attacking runs as well.

Hmmm that puts a slightly different perspective on this one for me.

Rashford is poor on the right side. At the same time Rashford is likely to score more goals than Sancho so we need him in his best position (LW)

I think Ole would play Sancho right side for this reason, but worrying he’s been better on the left though.

Pretty sure all big clubs have known about his presence and quality for some years now. They aren't waiting to see him in Euro to confirm.

I don't expect us to sign any players till after the Euro anyway.

This deal will go through, as BVB will want to get rid and earn some money they might not be able to get next year.

Wouldn't surprise me if we have a deal in principle before the Euros kick off, pending medical etc.
Then again, it could be one of them that drag on the entire summer? Who knows
