Why's everyone going on about nearly died? The fact is that right now, he's in stable condition.
Mate, get ahold of yourself. Seriously take a look inward. Please. Are you trying to be provocative right now? I cried seeing the images on live TV. Imagine how his teammates feel...Jesus!

So pleased he's awake.

I would expect them to continue the game tomorrow or soon after, lots more things can go wrong from here with his body and brain. I can't imagine the players are in the right frame of mind.

My own thought would be that even if the players say they would be okay to continue, for their own sake give them a point each and leave it be until their next matchday

Don't think he understands how massively that can affect someone.

In university, I had the terrible experience of having a friend of mine collapse on the field, everyone froze and didn't know what to do, I tried my best to do CPR, but it took AGES for any proper medical personnel to get there, so I just kept doing CPR with another friend, until the medics came but sadly, what we didn't know at the time, was that it was too late, he didn't make it. :( Seeing this tonight, just unearthed all that emotion and experience.

That was one of the worst experiences in my life, and to this day there is a certain smell and images that triggers the memory of that day and giving him CPR that I can never forget.
I couldn't go back to the pitch for the rest of that year and had to have extensive counselling before I could even step on it and play football again.
That's a really sad story, sorry you had to experience that.

This makes me realize I need to sign up for some classes and learn basic CPR. I run and play sports and I see other people running or playing around me all the time and I can't imagine being utterly useless if someone was to collapse around me and live with that on my conscience.

The man just nearly died ffs, if it wasn't against the rules I'd say something more appropriate.
They were giving him CPR and used the defib so it's likely he was dead for a period of time. His team mates saw him like that and wouldn't have known if he would be brought back. That's incredibly traumatic for them.

You’re a special type of self-centred cnut, aren’t you? You do understand that when it was happening, none of us knew he was going to be ok, especially those around him. That shock and scare doesn’t randomly go away because he is “stable” now.

Going on and on about “drawing a line”. No one gives a shit about your hypothetical line right now, and the game altogether is a secondary concern for most normal humans.
Well said.

Brought back some bad memories of how my cousin Alim died. We played in the same 11 a side Sunday League team and after a headed clearance he just doubled over with his hands on his knees. Sadly he collapsed and never woke up. Nobody knew what to do...at the time we thought it was a head injury. It was horrific. He was only 22.

It turned out to be an arrhythmia caused by undiagnosed hypertophic cardiomyopathy - thickening of his heart. Apparently it's a lot more common in black people and can be passed down through families...another couple of reasons, as if any more were needed, that it sticks with me.

It was a decade ago with Alim and I still can't watch the Miklos Feher video because of how absolutely identical it was.

Delighted to hear good news on Eriksen.

That sucks, I'm sure watching this must have brought back some bad feelings. :\

Which part of what I said isn't true?

I'm not a professinal footballer.
Such a sick and disgusting individual. A professional footballer isn’t a human being with emotions in your disgusting opinion?

Class of the Finnish player who reacted the fastest and discovered the seriousness.
Class of the Danish players who formed a circle around Eriksen to shield both Eriksen and the spectators.
