I'm talking about talent, not stats. It's subjective yes but Foden is technically better than both of those. Sancho's stats I'm always hesitant on because I've seen the calibre of his goals in the Bundesliga, it's not very high.

The benefit is that we can instead buy two £50m players to better our squad instead of one 90m player and probably only one other. I doubt Sancho alone will make us challenge for anything anyway, he's not that great against low block teams which we struggle against.

The £100m is mostly for what clubs would actually pay - City are said to be in for Kane or Grealish and both would go for £100m+. In terms of talent that they've shown in the PL, it's not hard to argue against their value.

Foden I put mostly based on his technical level - it's very high. No one's actually going to pay £100m for him though. Mount, Rashford, Greenwood are all similar - good players but no one's going to be putting in £100m bids for them. The only players that would go for that figure and have interest are Halaand and Mbappe.

Fyi - I think values from the group you mentioned are still a little overpriced and haven't taken into account covid and reduced TV contracts yet. The days of paying £80m for the likes of Maguire, Pogba etc are gone. That calibre of player would go for £60m at max now. There just aren't many clubs outside the oil ones and United that can afford to pay £80m on a player now.

Hate to burst your bubble and all but Buendia literally just went for 40 million from the championship

In terms of people underestimating Sancho it's also important to remember that Halaands only goal drought in his Dortmund career came when Sancho was out injured.

Dortmund began dropping down the table and looked like not getting top 4.

Then Sancho returned and they got top 4 with Halaand scoring again. Almost always assisted by Jadon.

Why? Romano just jumps on any sort of news now while adding nothing new so he can get his clicks.
Told us it was all Utd unti the window neared, then told us Liverpool and Chelsea were in to get 3 fanbases on board, then told us Chelsea and Liverpool werent involved when it was obvious Utd had it in their pocket.
He will be bitterly disappointed this is going to be wrapped up so eaely.
i used to think romano was super reliable, but im starting to see why people call him a tap in merchant. He very rarely seems to put his neck on the line and jumps on stuff once its reported elsewhere

or he’s just not as good as the other attacking players
does it also mean that Sancho is not as good as the 3rd choice GK (who was on the bench) or maybe there is another valid reason or Southgate is just crazy.

Okay....

Hasn't worked out for him. Grealish would get way more involved than Foden has been tbh.

Saka selected on the bench over Sancho is what makes zero sense.
Not as crazy as having 3rd choice GK ahead of Sancho, unless of course Sancho is injured

Are you seriously comparing a guy over 30 with 100 caps and a World Cup winners medal with a 21 year old who can’t even make the bench against Croatia? And who said Kroos won’t start? He’s going to start. Not sure what you’re talking about here.
The more important Q is, do you really support Enyimba FC?

its a pretty silly argument you have here.

england had Rashford, Sako, Grealish, DCL all on the bench to provide options up front.

when you have 12 subs - it’s not a ridiculous idea to have 2 keepers as an insurance policy against an exceptional turn of events where two keepers get injured. That’s more sensible than having your 5th choice attaching sub available.

I mean that's a pretty good defensive job of having two keepers on the bench. Seriously when have two extra goalkeepers ever been needed? The odds have to be tiny. Much more reasonable to have another outfield option.

All teams have had two goalkeepers on the bench so far, maybe it’s a rule that they have to? I don’t know.

I imagine other countries do it?

if Sancho is considered to be behind Rashford, Grealish, DCL and Sako (which today he was) then he’s not needed.

of course the odds of needing two keepers is tiny, but the impact if you needed him is massive. Simple risk management. Risk = probability x impact.

but you don’t need another outfield option when you have 10 on the bench.

Few other teams have the quality of Englands squad though.
2 keepers is overkill. If it were that important we would see it every week in club football

It was £33m. And I actually wanted United to sign him for that, I think he can push into that £50m bracket. He's super talented.

What does this even mean? He's not scoring enough worldies for you? Such a bizzare comment.
It means, go watch his Bundesliga goals for 20/21. Around 50% of them were scored in absolute acres of space, with not a man near him. The kind of defending he wouldn't face against the worst team in the PL.

Look at the Germany thread... many of them wanting a kimmich and goretzka midfield.
They’re not in charge of the team. I’m sure there’s many on here who want Sancho to start for England but the fact is that Southgate at present deems him surplus to requirements. Maybe that says more about Southgate but it’s not a good sign as far as Sancho is concerned.

It’s a rule set by UEFA:

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....oatia-why-2-goalkeepers-are-on-the-bench/amp/

Both goalkeepers, Dean Henderson and Sam Johnstone, were on the bench. This is not a tactical choice instead one set in place by UEFA who require teams to have two natural back-up keeper options available.

Even if you subtract those goals his stats is exceptionally good.

Then why isnt everybody doing it? I was watching a Sancho vid from a few pages back and it said hes the only player to get 15 goals and 15 assists in 1 season since records began.
There has been some serious talent in Germany over the years and yet Jadon stands alone

Does he really need to repeat the same thing 3 times every day?

He's said literally nothing new and rarely ever does, it's the same repeated reshashed BS over and over.

Damn him for being good at reading space and exploiting it. Maybe if he signs you can start a petition for him to only shoot once he's dribbled past 5 players.

Ridiculous criticism and a ridiculous post.

Also what about the other 50%?

I hear what your saying but it is his job, and if it’s working for him then good for him.
I just don’t understand people getting so bent of shape over his tweets, I find it a bit bizarre.

Plus most of the time he’s replying to the barrage of questions he gets asked on Twitter.
I suppose he doesn’t have to answer them but he does.

It literally means nothing for Sancho. Stop trying to put relevance into international fixtures for a players quality. It's a different world and the managers are 90% of the time mediocre managers who failed at club level so took international football who do team spirit and nothing else.

Maybe you should look at highlights from City games or our goals this season!

The way people go on about the Bundesliga is crazy. The way people talk about Sancho makes it clear they know nothing about him either. The way people go on about Southgate leaving him out as any relevance to Sancho and not just Southgates ineptitude/lack of relevance of international football to club football either makes me think that they've watched football for 1-2 years and haven't realized this always happens. Was Scholes shit and overrated because he was punted out of position? No. He was a better center midfielder than Gerrard or Lampard but the managers wanted different things (very clearly wrong things). Southgate has loads of options to choose from around his squad. He chose Trippier at LB ahead of Shaw who was arguably the best left back in Europe and Chilwell wasn't even in the squad. He picked Sterling who was awful all season, garbage most of the game (but yes he scored a goal even though it was a bad finish) ahead of Grealish, Sancho and Rashford who all had far better individual seasons, and are more talented players individually.

Maybe Southgate just wants something specific. Maybe (probably) Southgate is just a garbage manager who plays favorites? It means nothing for Sancho's individual quality, just like it meant nothing for Carrick to continually be left out despite being a key cog in a regular title winning side.

That's the 95m € question, isn't it

As for the 'acres of space' stuff, United had less average possession in the PL than Dortmund in BuLi and people using that argument might as well take a look at Rashford's goal compilation.
