I listened to that podcast, they claim Raiola and Chelsea have been in talks and that "get out" clause needs to be worked around, and Haaland is expecting to be at Chelsea next season. Or words to that effect, I forget what was said word for word. Just a shame Castles is full of shite
I think a release clause would be our only hope of getting him. If Abramovich is driving the deal, he is the type to just pay what they want.

If City go ahead and spend 100m each on Grealish and Kane, then should Haaland come to the prem this year, it'll be to us.

I still think he stays though
I think he will stay at Dortmund, but Graniskiova has a habit of pulling off transfers for Chelsea. If and its a big if Chelsea got him, with the team they have, they'd automatically alongside City be favourites for the title next season.

Sure, and I am considering Scarlett Johansen as a replacement for my wife and it is just as likely. Bayern cannot afford him and for what it's worth neither can we. He is going to Spain or to an oil club, money is all his team care about.
Now you say, neither can Bayern nor we afford him, but some club from Spain can? Which one exactly? Granada?

Abramovich really wants Haaland this summer. Riaola is insisting on a set release clause fee if Haaland were to join Chelsea as its not Haaland or Haaland representatives first choice club.

Maria Graniskiova under major pressure from Abramovich to make this happen this summer.

Riola happy to move him obviously £££ for him, but only spending a few seasons at Chelsea before moving him on again.

But what does Raoilo want?

if we ended the window with only Haaland id be happy. Even Lukaku, tbh

There's a part of me that wants Haaland to go to Chelsea this summer...

I think he'd make such a great villain that we all love to hate haha

I'm happy with Rashford-Greenwood-Sancho which has insane potential over the next 5-8 years

He looks like Ragnarok series on netflix's main character. Hope he will be added to United sqad partnering Sancho.

I'd really really want him not to move to the PL unless it's for us.
He's not going to be a one club man and we can get him in a few years but if he joins Chelsea he's probably going to try a different league next.

If you asked me six months ago, I would have said I would prefer our main striker target to be Kane. However, I can't help but shake some major Torres vibes I'm getting from Kane, and thus I have moved over to wanting Haaland as our striker. Whether it will actually happen is a different story.

Totally, couldn't stop thinking about this while watching the series. Even thought "Oh now they have to talk to Haaland to get this sorted"

It meant to cause confusion, which it has done judging by your post. He wouldn’t have tweeted something similar if United picked up Messi.
Well reckon him & Jadon will stay in touch over the next season about what life is like at Utd

Is there any possibility that he will seriously consider us, given the history of his father with Keane? Of course, he will never say anything about this in public. And his agent will definitely keep us in the loop because the more suitors the higher the price. But I don't see Haaland ever coming to United. We can't offer him the most money, we cannot guarantee titles, his father has bad memories with United ... why would he ever seriously consider us?

I pretty much agree. My thing now is this: if you’re going to buy Kane, and we know levy is charging dumb money, why not just go a little further and pay the extra for Haaland IF he’s willing to come?

We should go all in for Haaland next summer. We have our agent Sancho and his fatherly figure Ole to persuade him to come, finger crossed.

This could be the master plan. But let's see if Ole's still in charge by end of next season :)

I was thinking about that and even if he is terrible i would keep him a little longer just to get Haaland and then make whatever is best for the club.

Yes.

I'll give you some slack since this is your first post, but these points have been discussed to death on here. It may have been slightly different if Keane had any active role in United, but even then I don't think it would impact a possible deal other than maybe a joking point brought up during talks. His father has publicly stated that anything about his playing career will not impact the career of his son, including name-checking saying that his spat with Keane would not be a hindrance towards Erling joining United if it makes sense career-wise.

Not to forget that they brought Haaland to Molde because they thought Ole was the best manager available for Erling to work under (at least at that stage of his development). Ole was there when he was breaking into notoriety and helped him with his mindset when he was struggling for goals initially. He generally has a good relationship with Ole both on his own and through his family (who played with Ole). And then it's kinda the factor that Norwegians don't very often get international fame, so whenever they do we cling to them, Ole being the most famous footballer for us from before and now the most famous manager. The prospect of our current most famous footballer (with a much higher skill ceiling than Ole had, but still has to deliver trophies etc through his career to become a bigger legend than Ole) joining up with our most famous manager in a club of United stature would further elevate both of them in Norway. And I know many will say that doesn't matter, but it kinda does to Norwegians, so while I don't by any stretch suggest that factor alone will make up his mind, I do think it will be on his mind as a factor that weighs favorably if the offers from all the clubs are similar.

I do think we can offer him comparable salary to other clubs, and being associated with the brand of United will help his personal brand grow internationally more to people who aren't as hardcore football fans as well.
And maybe I'm naive, but I think we are very close to being regular contenders for all the trophies again, and I also do think Haaland is the kind of person who feels motivated by being the final puzzle piece that really elevates the club back to former heights.

Guys, he isn’t coming to us next season. We need to make our peace with this.

Hopefully the fact we have Ole and his best mate at Dortmund in Sancho has just joined us means we’re still in with a decent chance of signing him next summer.

It's an indication of how spoilt we are when looking at videos on Sancho, there's a bittersweet feeling of not getting Haaland, who inevitably is the one on the end of the chances Sancho is creating

Yes, personally I do believe we have a strong chance, especially next summer. This a list of factors I wrote earlier in another thread that goes in our favour regarding Haaland:

- OGS who he is very close to (OGS' job wasn't remotely safe when we tried to sign him the January he went to Dortmund) and they are in regular contact as per reports in Norwegian media
- OGS is also close with his father (they both played together for the NT and spoke a lot together regarding signing Haaland for Molde and develop him from there)
- An existing relationship with Raiola, even if it means silently accepting his public outbursts
- The money to pay a release clause
- The budget to match most if not all clubs on salary
- The biggest club in his favourite national league (born in England and for most Norwegians see the Premier League as the pinnacle of league football)
- A young and highly talented squad which will now include his best buddy and main assister in Dortmund

A big reason for the lack of noise around Haaland to United this summer is probably because OGS and the club knows his situation very well directly and with Cavani signing for one more season the immediate need for a top striker isn't that pressuring. Personally I still see City as the biggest rivals to his signature so won't have high hopes for signing him next summer unless City end up going for Kane this summer.

Yeah sounds like Dortmund are determined to keep him this close season, and are likely to be all the more so now they have the Sancho money. So next season is the likely time. If we have a decent season, we would be in with a shot of landing him, and we must surely try. All the big clubs will be interested.

Yeah think he could also fancy the move if Jadon really hits the ground running next season

Thank you for the reply. But it wasn't just Keane. Thousands of our fans were hurling insults at father Haaland. And the whole United organization supported Keane against Haaland (of course!).

Can you imagine Beckham's son playing for Liverpool if United also wanted him? Our fans would be upset, and the Liverpool fans might never really love him. Too risky for a footballer. It is so much easier for Haaland to go to City.

Anyway, I really hope I am wrong. It would be great if we get him!

This is an older article from when he was at Salzburg, but pretty sure the opinion hasn't changed since then.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...orwegian-starlets-Manchester-United-move.html

It's the Daily Mail, but they are reacting to him speaking to Norwegian media. Here is a google translated url to that original article.

The core of it is this part:

But even though the senior played for Manchester United's rivals, he does not rule out that Erling Braut Haaland may consider playing for the team that is now led by Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

- It would have just been nice. It is important to distinguish between being a supporter and a job. So I have a very relaxed relationship with that. It's a little different when it's serious, he concludes.
Nice is a bad translation here cause he uses a dialect word. Swell would probably fit better.

100% in with a chance depending on how get on next season. Not really sure how anyone could confidently rule us out.
Especially if we end this window with Sancho, Varane, and a new DM. That should mean our only major target next season will be a new striker.
