Bought him five years too late, but I don’t think there are too many better CBs in 2021 than Varane anyway.
In terms of price:asset ratio, quite easily the best buy in the post-SAF era.

Varane and Maguire could be a legendary partnership, can't wait to see him debut

Best summer in a long time for me this feels like. Can't believe how quick and efficient we have been. What are we going to do for the month of August!?!

So...Glazers still out or in? :nervous:
Well this last 4 weeks show the level of mismanagement under them even more obviously. They trusted an investment banker to do dealings and we remember how all those summer windows dragged on. Now we have a sporting director and see the difference.

It should not have taken this long for us to challenge.

Great to make a big name signing but even better to make a signing that makes perfect sense.

Good in the air, quick and not too shabby on the ball either. Pretty much the exact qualities people wanted alongside Maguire at CB. And then add in bags of experience on top of that.

I like the other CB options we were linked to like Torres and Kounde but all things considered Varane was the best choice available and we got him.

Congrats to United fans on signing Varane.
So how good is he then really? I’ve watched him a few times in champions league, his achievements speak for them selves. Do you think he’ll handle the prem?

Out, as soon as possible. They've sanctioned the club to use its own money to sign two players because they've been shamed into it, they're still parasitic pricks.

This is a good signing though. I don't think it means we're guaranteed a title challenge and there's no such thing as a surefire transfer but it feels like a good bit of business.

Top signing. Signing one of the best defenders on earth and partnering him with the best defenders in England in Maguire, AWB and Shaw is fantastic business. No doubt that we have the best defense in Europe now

What a fecking dream this summer is turning out to be. If we can get Solskajer's other signing's (RB & CM), while moving on some that aren't up to scratch or want to leave it's the perfect window.

Hopefully he can have the same positive effect on AWB that Maguire has had on Shaw

Couldn’t blame him for picking Real at the time. Nice to see their financial mismanagement finally costing them, Barca as well. But also nice to see the strength of the EPL through profit sharing causing all the teams to improve their quality.

look at how hard it is to get 3 points in the league last season! Top teams can’t collect the same point totals they used to because every club has international starters in their team! 10 years ago most of the league was fodder for the top 4.

Don't think we ever had this good a window post SAF to be honest - probably with SAF as well on paper, it genuinely is two world class players! Really really have to push City this year.
I dunno about that.

Fergie announcing Nani, Anderson, Tevez and I think it was Hargreaves mere days after winning the title in 2008 takes some beating. But this without a doubt the best summer post-Fergie.

Madness. Feels fake. It’s like something I’d do on fifa and then stop playing because it feels unrealistic.

I don't think any of those four were really world class when we signed them though? Maybe Hargreaves given who he played for but he'd recently come back from a big injury I recall so the risk was quite high.

Sancho & Varane in the same window seems another level to me
