Will his announcement video top Sancho's? That one gave me chills

I'm insanely jealous of this. You guys just did the best business of the window by far.
You say this whilst Chelsea are advancing on Koundé. To be fair, we've had some very obvious weaknesses that needed to be addressed whilst Chelsea don't have as much.

Brilliant signing. In prime years and "low" cost for that kind of expirience and quality.

Madness. Feels fake. It’s like something I’d do on fifa and then stop playing because it feels unrealistic.
I was thinking that earlier. It feels like we added a manager on FM so we could put sign him on the cheap!

No doubt that we have the best defense in Europe now
Fantastic signing but this is getting quietly too far. Best defense in Europe?!

Have people forgotten how horrible that back 4 was looking for a good amount of last season? Offense bailed them out again and again. That didnt feel like one last puzzle piece missing for greatness at all...

AWB offers no attack, but even defensively, he showed some atrocious positioning and even King Harry was not seen as best PL defender prior to the EC, and with good reason.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes, a single upgrade can make a huge difference to a full defense or even the whole squad and I'm happily awaiting them form a unit, but that's going too far now with the praise for me.
Let's hope I'm wrong, anyway great summer business by the club!

Really does come across as a pro's pro by all accounts, a true professional in every sense.

Him going back to Madrid for training might've concerned some fans but it endeared me to him more seeing him being respectful with his club instead of going AWOL and forcing a move.

Says a lot that they're singing his praises on his way out given how Madrid usually treat their legends

Incredible signing!

Next step get rid of Pogba and bring in a competent midfielder (who actually wants to be here).
I agree, but its looking likely now that we'll be shot of him soon; its just such a waste of talent, or rather hes a waste of his talent.

To be fair, the only reports coming from the French and Spanish outlets were that he was really keen to play in the Premier League. I bet if another Premier League went in hard for him, this would have dragged on for way longer and been much more of a saga.

Wow. Sancho and now Varane. In the words of Goldberg, who's next?

@carvajal , @giorno , is he still good? I don't watch Madrid so I'm surprised he's leaving.

The talks about United being his priority started in France a long time ago.

Well well well ... even with the reports yesterday, I still was a little sceptical. From the first reports, was convinced will just turn out where he would resign with Madrid. Over the moon because I think even more than Sancho, with this signing, our back line plays a good 10 yards further up the pitch, which will move the midfield a bit closer to the forwards and particularly Bruno. Will make such a huge difference.

I love the fact we seem to be buying players who actually want to come here instead of because we're willing to outbid the market for them.

Feels much more familiar.

Fair enough. Do you mind disclosing the outlets reporting this if you know them off the top of your head?

From what I could gather, he did like United, but I don't know if he'd have necessarily come to us if, say, Chelsea were in for him. As it was, United were the only Premier League club making moves.

I don't think any of those four were really world class when we signed them though? Maybe Hargreaves given who he played for but he'd recently come back from a big injury I recall so the risk was quite high.

Sancho & Varane in the same window seems another level to me
Either way, Murtough has clearly improved the clubs' transfer strategy this year. So much so that the time Warchest Woody chased every world-class player in Europe one summer and ended up with Marouane Fellaini is just a distant memory now. Yeah, it still stings a bit.

I'd be surprised if United were the only Prem team that came sniffing. He's a world class centre back and we're not exactly in an era where they are abundant. More fool them if they weren't interested.

Fantastic signing! This window feels like a dream. Finally we're doing things a second placed team should be doing and addressing weaknesses that will take us to the top spot. Hope he retires here with honors that match his Real career.

Interest is one thing. Actually talking with the player's camp as well as the club is another matter altogether. There were reports of Chelsea being interested, but for all of their interest, I don't believe they ever approached Varane's camp for talks.

I don't really believe that this window is happening to be honest. Reckon it's all one big prank, or that I'm gonna wake up and follow transfer rumours about us going after Willian.

Sancho and Varane. Who next?!

I don't think they'll get both and anyway attack shoulnt be a problem, we need an upgrade in midfield and we're set.

Now I know who took a slash in the fruit punch.

We've just addressed a huge issue in our squad with an indisputably good signing and your first thought is about City. I feel bad for you.

Finally, a proper world-class defender, CL and WC-winner none the less. This place has deluded itself into thinking that players like Shaw and Maguire are «world-class», it will not take long until the same people see what true ability really is. Magnificent signing, hats off.

Fair enough. I'm surprised that I didn't read about them, but that may have been before I got onto Twitter and keeping an eye on football news regularly.
A lot of what is said by both outlets isn't going to be easily available for people outside of France, RMC is mainly a radio while a lot of small details are on L'EquipeTV and not necessarily in the daily paper versions or twitter.

I'm hope we're willing to wait a year if we have serious run at Haaland. Not sure Kane would fit our squad that well and at what he cost, I'd rather we sign Rice as I think we need to fill that gap more than a CF.

Yeah, that's true. RMC have been doing better with reporting their radio talks on their website and Twitter recently, which is nice to see.

My last memory of Varane was what should've been a sending off after he fouled Evra in the 1st leg of our tie back in 2013.
