Do people think Camavinga could be a good partner for Bellingham?

Yes. Probably the best two young central midfielders in world football.

In other news Messi and Ronaldo would be a pretty handy pairing!

In about 5 years time it’d probably be the best partnership for a double pivot anywhere in Europe.
In about 5 years time they could be playing for Southampton & Newcastle. You can never know for sure if a player is going to make it at the top.

look at Youri Tielemans. Back in 2014-15 everyone expected him to be at Real Madrid by now. Great player? Yes, fulfilled the expectations? No.

Young players spending too much time on social media is a red flag for me. We need players who focus on football 24/7 and don't get distracted.
We should get rid of most of our young players. Greenwood even has a girlfriend, Rashford posting on instagram regularly, I think Sancho should be sold too.

This may have been mentioned already, but Per-Atle Karlsen (Norwegian journalist, close to OGS) said while talking about his intention to switch to a more attacking 4-3-3 this season, that it all kind of hinges on getting a DM in - and Ole's first choice is far and away Camavinga.

The way he was talking about him, was like there was no viable alternative. It's all about Camavinga, it seems.

I mean Haaland and Bellingham rejected us to go to Dortmund
Dortmund smaller club with less pressure on the players and in a less physical easier league. He appreciated he'd struggle as a big boy of 17 in the EPL, but the German league has done him well though and he's had plenty of time in the first team..

PSG and Madrid don't seem to have the desire to sign him(PSG) or skint for cash(Madrid) so we should have a free run at signing this kid now that the varane deal is complete(assuming it's in our budget as well)

Can anyone please give me a tldr? Last time I was checking this thread, he was planning to run down his contract and join Real next year. Anything changed since then? Do we have a chance?

we will find out soon enough. Reckon we will be sticking a bid in if the players agent gives us the go ahead. He’d be a fool to waste another year in France when he could join Oles sexy United revolution and get a good fee for the club who developed him.

Rennes have said they won't allow him to leave on a free (not sure how they can force that)

Madrid don't have the wonga to buy him

PSG have not said anything and seem his best option.

Its rumoured we have had talks and he has said he wants to wait and see who comes in for him.

Unless he says he will come, we wont bid.

He liked an instagram post announcing Varane to Utd but that's basically it. Still holding out for PSG / RM next year on a free presumably.

Yeah exactly. Feels like that’s the way we do it now. It also feels like we are also sounding out backups to our main targets at the same time. Imagine being one of uniteds backups? “Eh we might be in for your client if Varane doesn’t come, would he be interested”
“Of course”
But it must kind of suck too
Like Romero ends up at Spurs instead of Utd. I guess it’s all awesome. Big bump in wages and exposure.

I reckon Neves is our backup option. Similar price. Very shrewd indeed all of a sudden.

He’s liked about 5 United related posts all throughout the summer. I think all the does he or doesn’t he want to come noise is just to create drama and clicks in a story that hasn’t even started yet. I’d bet we’ve told the player to tell us to make a bid and we will and we will be going to him any day now for an answer. We will know either way very soon. I reckon he comes instead of sitting it out on a free and rinsing Rennes. Real have a big job on over the next few years

I think he might screw Rennes over for a chance to play for RM. Kroos and Modric need replacing as well, so just signing Mbappe won't be enough for them.

Thats what it all hinges on.

If Fletcher and Murtough can turn Varanes head I reckon they’ll be able to sell it to Camavinga. You’re our new Roy Keane or whatever… fingers crossed. I think we had no chance but with the dedicated recruitment department we can sell ourselves to anyone. We are a staggeringly big club who went off the rails for a while

That's never happened though, footballers before social media would find other, sometimes detrimental, ways to get their mind off football. It's just crazy to expect players to focus on football 24/7 and not be distracted when it's always been a part of a footballer's life and, if anything, social media actually keeps footballers a bit more in check in regards to their lifestyle because now everything they do is just one tweet away from becoming a PR nightmare.

God knows I love Pogba, but at that point send his ass and his agent to Paris, and buy Edgar Davids regen.
Yeah, his preference is Real. So is Rice's preference to go to Chelsea but still, everyone wants him.
Camavinga has no choice but to join Ole's Tricky Reds.

Rennes want to sell (or him to extend, of course), we want to buy, but allegedly he has his heart set on Madrid. Madrid don’t have the money though, so if it happens it’ll be on a free next season. Not sure if Rennes will let that fly though

He needs to make up his mind soon and commit his future one way or the other. I hope we get him though, looks like a brilliant young player who would give us some steel in the middle of the park.
