They might get a transfer ban and worst case maybe some titles stripped away?

I can't see how that will effect them now though. IF they want Kane and Grealish they'll do it this summer.
Well, they'll probably stop doing that if they get a punishment for it..?

Sucks. The one player I don't want to go to City, I think he'll tear it up and surprise a lot of people. At Villa his final ball has always been good, just the quality hasn't been there around him.

The summer we sign Sancho they spend more and get a better player (in my opinion from watching both a lot regularly, don't want to argue this with the Sancho fanboys). We're just continually playing catch up against a team that has the wealth to continue to build a stronger team.

Class player and think he'll do well for City even if it's crazy money. I still think it's mad how some fans thought he was worth pursuing over Sancho, considering it was fairly obvious he'd be more expensive and the fact he'd cover/replace one of our best attacking players in either Rashford or Bruno. Him being a Pogba replacement never made any sense.

The one silver lining is that we'll never have to hear this again

They are going after Kane after they’ve signed Grealish.
I saw the Kane rumors and I don't think they can afford him, even if they're a state backed club. If Grealish goes for 100mil, Levy will not let Kane go without 150-180, not a single chance.

But, at a second thought, if they get 40 mil for Silva and 60-70 for Sterling, that's Grealish on a free and a quarter of Kane. Silva will be easy to move as he can play anywhere, but Sterling is very hard to get rid of, especially sending him outside of the UK.

Shame hes going to city, top player. Would have been great at Utd. But thats the way it is. City land Grealish and Kane this summer and thats two top quality recruits and probably the PL title.

You say that with such confidence in the same post where you admit you haven't seen much of Villa. Appreciate the honesty at least.
That's the point - a player worth 100m has usually accomplished a whole lot more (club/national team) than Grealish, but let's agree to disagree.

Sam Lee who broke this Grealish story (whilst everyone said he was bullshitting and unreliable) says City will spend up to £225m on the two players. If they got Grealish for £100m and actually offered £125m straight cash for Kane I’d be amazed if Levy turned that down. They also have a number of players to offer to Spurs with Jesus being the most likely.

Do people think supposedly deleting one tweet means this is on?
Or is there something more concrete?

I liken it to plain old fickle behaviour from our supporters. Sancho is by and far the more exciting player and at 21 has another level to reach. Grealish has peaked.

Not only that , in Villa everything goes through him and he has total freedom.

Will be quite different in City

Not gonna lie, this’ll sting as I’ve always been convinced he’d end up at Old Trafford and would light up the place..

If we offered the 100m he'd be joining us, I'm fairly sure of that, so we can't moan. Think he'll be quality for them though and can't blame him for moving there.

Levy wants £150m, don't think £125m will be enough.

Sam Lee is full of shit. He backtracks like feck all the time. I have never seen him break one story for City. He jumps on bandwagons. John Percy broke the Grealish bid

Sam Lee reported that talks were advanced a few days ago didn’t he?

I don’t follow him extensively but he’s been very reliable the time I’ve noticed him.

I think it means there are negotiations going on..

lets be honest, Jack would never have thought to do that

it will have been his team and probably would want to do it to avoid scuppering negotiations

just my 2 cents

This will surely put an end to the endless - quite weird - mancrush many have on him? I'd have liked to see him here too but if he joins City feck him.

I'd prefer City spend £100m on Grealish to add more rotation to a position they're already extremely strong in if it meant they don't get Kane and are stuck with Jesus up front. Imo they wouldn't be any stronger than last season if that was the case. Striker is obviously where they need to invest.

He’s a really good player but £100m is fecking crazy. He seems to have been massively overhyped in the last year, talk of being a Ronaldinho regen and a ‘generational talent’, people need to settle down.

He’ll prove to be the best player in Europe at City.

Wanted to sign him years ago when he was in The Championship. His talent has always been obvious and he’s excelled despite mediocrity around him.

Genuinely devastated over this. People still have no idea how good he is outside of Villa fans.

Definitely the most overhyped and dare I say, overrated player in the country. Settle down is definitely what some of our supporters should be doing. We got Sancho and Varane, and are still looking to strengthen.

He’d be a better fit at United or liverpool, but we no longer need him and the scousers need to sell Mane before buying.

Very good player. Crazy price. even 80m was crazy .. that's the reason we didnt even try.. didnt make sense.

But then again.. City dont care about money.. it improves their squad..

I agree; it's tough to watch a player of Grealish's quality go to City, but whatever way you slice it, 100mil is stupid money for a player who, while very good, doesn't offer them a huge amount on top of what they have. I'd be much more worried about them for the coming season if they missed out on Grealish but signed Kane.
