There is no indication that Leicester will even sell him, they have no reason to sell and can slap whatever price they want on him. If its 70m for Maddison its gonna be the same if not more for him.
If Utd want him perhaps Lingard and Pereira and lots of money,

If Maddison was to go to Arsenal and rumours they like Lindgard maybe there’s a deal to done with Ndidi. I think he would be perfect but it’s going to be expensive but cheaper then Rice?
Losing Maddison and Ndidi and gaining Lingard.

That wouldn’t be good business to say the least.

How much would Leicester want for Ndidi? Given his age, PL proven and the fact that Leicester do not need to sell and are a team always there abouts fighting for a CL spot, my guess is they would want around £65m-£75m?

That's the very most I would value Ndidi at a push, because as much as I likely his defensive game, from what I see of him, he isn't an exceptional passer of the ball and likes to just keep it ticking and does not have the ability to pass between the lines like a Carrick. But maybe we just need a player who can break up play, keep it ticking and let our more expansive players do the attacking work? :D

I'd say his value is 60 ish but they wouldn't sell for less than 80 ish.

Is he good at linking play, and passing between the lines?
Not at all his game. He’s great at breaking up play and reading the game, but passing isn’t a strength at all. I’d say we need someone more akin to a 25 year old Matic.

Me too, I want a midfielder with real quality on the ball.

Leicester would demand a fortune for him. We wouldn't even consider it without selling someone like Pogba or Martial for £50m or so first to raise funds.

£60m would be fair value to me.

I really really really like him a lot
It might be fair, but there's no way would we sell for £60m (unless he desperately wanted out, but there's not really been any indication of that).

We can afford to lose Maddison, but N'didi is waay to integral to the team - and I'd argue much more difficult to replace - and we could easily spend £60m trying to find replacements for him (like we initially signed Mendy to replace Kante, which didn't pan out).

oh sure I definitely wouldn't sell him as well, unless it's for *very* stupid money that nobody shells out for DMs.

just sayin that as an abstract valuation, that's a fair baseline

Those watching them often enough, how do you rate him against Bissouma?
I haven't watched them that much but when I did Bissouma stood out to me. Very good defensively and pretty good on the ball, probably better than Ndidi on it.

Rumours were though that Brighton would want a huge fee for him. Shame as I think United suit the team well.

Thanks Mark. Yeah Bissouma is someone I like as well. I wasn't aware that Brighton would want "too much" for him - thought Pool were linked last season or something as well. Was hoping 30-40m max and definitely thought he'd be cheaper than Ndidi.

Haven't heard this guys name in a long while. Can he still make the step to a bigger club or is Leicester his level?

Depends on what teams want, I suppose. If they're looking for a ball winner to screen the defence, then statistically, Ndidi is still one of the best around. However, for those who want more of a deep-lying playmaker, then he's probably not the best pick.

Ball-winners don’t “screen” the defense, holding midfielders do.

No, actually, a holding midfielder is what it says on the tin - they hold, and some have different traits. For example, you can have a deep-lying playmaker or ball-winning type of holding midfielder, i.e. Ndidi and Pirlo. Both play in the same position but have different jobs.

Two types of holding midfielders:

1) Deep-lying playmakers like Alonso and Pirlo.

2) Defensive midfielder that sit in front of the defense and just protect that space like Makalele. Basically like a third CB

Ball-winning midfielders like Kante are not holding midfielders (number 6), they are number 8s as they run around the pitch putting pressure on the ball as opposed to protecting the space in front of the back four by cutting off passing lanes.

Since we are now interested in Mount who did not have best of the seasons, what does Cafe feel about Ndidi as backup to Casemiro , may be as MCT/Fred replacement?
Couple of seasons back everyone here were impressed with Ndidi but it seemed to cooled down this season. Did he have a really bad season as a player or was just in a bad team?
Any Leicester fans who watch him regularly add how did he do this season?

No. Too limited with the ball at his feet. We need better ball players throughout the team. Ndidi is not it.

I used to really rate him and thought he had huge potential. But, at best, he's stagnated in recent seasons.

he's a destroyer, Rodgers ruined his form by trying to turn him into a Pirlo and injuries have made him regress too

A couple of years ago I would have said Indidi, but he's looked a bit crap when I've seen him lately.

I'd take him as a rotational/backup depending on the finances. He obviously shouldnt be as expensive as he would have been 18 months ago due to being less important now to Leicester

Injuries seem to be the main issue. Otherwise I think he'd be ideal as a backup to Casemiro on the cheap.

I don't see Leicester selling Maddison and Ndidi in the same transfer window...
I'm not sure that they will have a choice. Maddison is leaving for sure & I expect Ndidi to let the club know that he wants to leave. It usually isn't good business to hang on to players who don't want to be there. I wouldn't be surprised to see a mass exodus !!
