He got less scary as the game went on. I’ve never seen a player look so threatening and yet so useless at the same time.

Yeah if he had an end product, he wouldn't be playing for wolves. A physical beast with speed to burn. Its a bit sad to see him torch our players again and again. Basically he does to us what Fellaini used to do when he played for Everton. We bought fellaini and know how that turned out. But awfully effectinve in what he does minus the end product.

They should use him purely as a ball carrier, he is good at that.

He’s a beast with unbelievable technique, think he would be great as a SAF winger in the shape of Valencia.
Maybe we have different views on what technique is but Traore’s is awful. He’s an outstanding dribbler but when he actually needs good technique i.e for a pass or cross he usually fluffs it.

It’s a wonderful paradox. Must be a nightmare being a supporter of Wolves.

I watched him live years ago when Middlesborough played Hull. He was a monster, tore through us at will, defence were shitting it all game. Ultimately he created nothing and we won 4-1

He absolutely annihilated us for the first 30 minutes and then I don’t really remember him doing anything significant after. He’d be an amazing substitute for a top side but not a starter

He claims not to lift any weights at all. I’m no expert but that seems…questionable.

If this guy had end product he's literally playing for any club he wants in the world, that good , terrifying in those first 25 mins

I do feel though stats don't do this guy justice, his end product in terms of shots etc and scoring goals might never improve but put him in a team like City, United, Pool , Chelsea etc and his assists would be very high, he should have had a few assists today easily.

I'd be very intrigued to see him at a top team, I' would swap James for him in a heartbeat , I actually think he'd do very well here as a squad player

His technique is what let him down so bad and that is why he had 2 goals and 3 assist in his last 40 PL games. He has the power and speed to blast past players, but that is about it.

You contradict yourself by saying he has no inherent end product but then say that he would magically get it if he played for the big teams? If he can't do it for Wolves, who had Jota and a pre-injury Jimenez who were no slouches up front, then how can he do it for any big team?

Maybe he's using those resistance bands. Either way you won't build muscles without straining them regularly with some form of resistance be it weights or bands.

Stronger and faster Daniel James.

to be fair he set a ball perfectly to Trincao who managed to feck up.

He was toying with our midfield at the beginning of the game luckily for us wolves were determined to miss every single chance.

Well, the problem is at City,Chelsea, United or Pool he would never get this space behind. Means, you will have the ball but you just won't know what to do with it.

Yeah he uses resistance bands and some other methods, but not dumbbells and weights you see in the gym of course.

He’d be another player the caf would hate after watching him for any longer than about 3 games. Only good with space to run into, no end product, not great technically. Most want James sold yet would be happy to spend the money on another kick and rush merchant.

He's hilarious to watch, a proper athlete but an atrocious footballer. After the first few minutes we realised it was better to let him turn and run and concentrate on who he would pass to, instead of challenging him early.

I hope today was enough to put to bed that ridiculous notion that Adama is just a strong Dan James.

Has his flaws but is a vastly superior player.
Can’t agree enough with this, there’s always this notion that he’s just a Dan James on steroid but he has got so much more to his game even though there’s usually no end product.

You never see Dan James running past players like he does or can never recall a game where he gave a full back or team a torrid time.

If both him and James are one-trick ponies of the same trick, then the difference is that Traore can at least do that one trick well. James can’t. He’s really a no-trick pony.

I don’t recall the last time I saw James kick it and run past a player with success (he always gets shoved off because he’s too weak). I only have to point to the first half of today’s game as evidence of Traore pulling his one trick successfully half a dozen times and terrorising our defence.

Spurs (or any other big side) would be crackers to go near him. He’s obviously got a very particular skill set but I’ve yet to see much evidence that those skills materially affect the winning of football matches.
His particular skill set is like Liam Neeson in Taken but instead of killing people he just finds them and tells them about it.

Wonder when his knees are going to start playing up? A guy that size moving that fast is a recipe for knee trouble.

Traore's one of the more impressive of the many players who look such a threat with their physical attributes - pace and power - but just don't have, or develop, the technical ability / decision making to hurt teams enough with their end product.

And, although the raw power and pace is very eye catching and makes a player a regular handful, you see plenty of them at youth level, or at lower league level, who don't make it to the top as its the ones who also possess technical ability and decision making that provide the end product to make it to the very top and stay there.

Traore is unusual in that he has such power and pace, and looks such a handful against even the best teams, that it seems so likely that at some point he must start hurting teams more with his end product. But, so far, he's not developing that side of his game and is still remaining just one of the better versions of the frustrating 'great pace and power, lacks end product' club.

I mean at the very least, this is the guy a big club should have in the squad if not starting.

Imagine a tight game defending a one-goal lead in the last 20 minutes, and you throw on Adama Traore. He would effectively pin back their backline or cause them to be severely exposed each time they tried to attack.

He can also play wingback to good effect. What's not to like?

Adama Traore is buff Daniel James

He had a worldie last night but his end product will make several Caf posters take legal action against the club for signing him.

Antonio Valencia before his leg break and eventual conversion to RB. Except without the end product.

Is this guy a lot of huff and puff?

Works hard, looks good, not much end product.
That's really not his fault. I've previously made the point that Traore is really unique in that he creates a lot more than the stats show but his teammates let him down.

Against spurs it was the same. He rinsed Tanganga and put it on a plate for someone else who squandered it. If you're not watching the games, the highlights and stats simply show a pacy runner with no end product but I'm telling you in a better team this guy will explode.

Well, so far, it's obviously his lack of end product.

He looks a huge threat and, like you say, coming off the bench for a top club he'd scare the hell out of tiring opposition with his pace and power. But his lack of end product up to now means he's more the level of Wolves as a regular starter.

But he'd be a useful player for a top club as an impact sub. And, if he can develop a consistent end product, he'd be a good signing as a regular starter for any club.

If he had an end product he'd be one of the world's best footballers.

Klopp would probably turn him into a scary player.

How would Klopp or any manager turn a 25 year old like him who has no end product into a productive player? He's not some kid.

Quite incredible that a player who put the fear of god into Man United today is being criticized. Even the manager came out and mentioned him specifically. This is a perfect example of being wise after the event.

His duration is 30/50 mins, then he goes in a energy save mode

It's like watching a better and enormous version of Dan James, but zero end product and zero stamina.

Traore has 10 goals and 18 assists for Wolves in 135 appearances. James has 9 and 9 in 74 appearances.

He's an interesting and entertaining player when given the freedom to do so, but goodness me he's a blank shooter.
