Ridiculous. He outscored Lukaku in Serie A last year, with a dogshit team, who went to Chelsea for 100 million. Ronaldo can easily score 30+ goals even at this age and we don't have that. Not even Cavani.
It's not as ridiculous if you'd bother to think about:

1. As shitty as Juve could be they're still largely able to control their games against those serie A fodders. We simply couldn't against Southampton and Wolves. In matches like that Ronaldo will be isolated and make no impact like in the Euro.

2. Comparing to Lukaku is actually a bad thing imo. Plus Chelsea has a great midfield, we don't. If we have a midfield like that I have absolutely no issue to start Ronaldo.

3. With all due respect Serie A is a shit league. Mkhitaryan was tearing that league last year.

If he performs like he did at the tail end of last season then there's a chance of him being used more sparingly. Barring any serious injury that's the worst-case scenario.

Our shite midfield shouldn't be a hindrance to him starting though. We have enough defensive-minded forwards to cover for him higher up the pitch. We really need to shore up our midfield regardless.

Our midfield is unfortunately. Yeah we badly need at least a good one.

I didn't say he'd need to cover any defensive duty, it's not any of his job in the first place. I only worry that against a solid opponent he won't run back to help link the play like Cavani usually does and because of our shitty midfield he'd be isolated and have no service. He's a great goal scorer but he does need service to score. We simply can't guarantee him that in matches like against Wolves or Sou. We couldn't even progress the ball forward.

It's clear to me you didn't see him play as much because he was isolated in euros and juve due to terrible defensive tactics.

At united we create enough chances.

Also it's funny you bash serie A when the two top scorers in ronaldo and lukaku are likely to be the two top scorers for premier league this season.

It’s ridiculous, he scored 43 goals last season in all competitions (clubs and country), who else match his output? Let’s see:

1. Lewandowski - 54 goals in 46 games (4th league + CL+ international)
2. Ronaldo - 43 goals in 53 games (3rd league + CL+ international)
3. Messi - 43 goals in 56 games (2nd league + CL+ international)
4. Mbappe - 43 goals in 56 games (5th league + CL+ international)
5. Haaland - 42 goals in 46 games (4th league + CL+ international)

So you sure Mbappe and Haaland etc is as irrelevant as Ronaldo as you’ve made out to be then? As they scored about the same or less in shitter league and against even worse folders.

Where in my post I said he's not a great goal scorer?

Actually I did said he's a great goal scorer if you've bothered to read my posts in this very thread.

You've completely missed my point. Did we create enough chances last match?

Anyway, I knew my opinion won't be popular. We'll see when he plays.

The sort of player Ronaldo is, his movement and bullying of defenders creates chances. He's not just a fox in the box as some media outlets would like you to believe. Juventus last year were horrible and they just lost this week again.

Not to mention his presence in the air as well. Ronaldo would have 100% made a difference.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Simple question: with that Portuguese fella with number 7 or 77 on his back, is it better for our team that he plays in a left wing - forward position, or as a central striker?

Personally, I think he would be better in a wider position. And age is not the issue, look how good he played this spring from the left:

Also, this match in april:

For national team he plays in a more central role. His last match for Juve:

Discuss. I would like to see something like Ronaldo on left, Sancho on right side, with Greenwood in central role like against Leeds and Bruno behind him. Believe it would give us right balance, mobility, etc.
What's an SC (op title)?

I didn't see him bullying defenders in the last Euro.

Anyway, let him play a few games for us first then we'd see.

If Giggs can run the left wing at 40. I can say Ronaldo wouldn't have a problem if asked to do so on occasion. No disrespect to Giggs, but CR is by far the more tuned athlete of the two.

That said, I couldn't care less where he plays, so long as he's smashing in goals against the gobshites.

Viva Ronaldo!
