I’ll be sad to see him go. He had a great start and unfortunately hadn’t kicked on after the first couple of games. Wish it worked out for him, to be at least good enough for a back up. Wish him the best of luck.

Good luck to him.

Nice lad, worked hard and his pace can be very useful at times.

Hopefully he has a good personal season, Leeds go down he moves somewhere else next year.

If 30-40m are true for Daniel, the Duracell bunny, hames, it’s a tribute to his engine. Welcome to the era of electric vehicles

Even 30M is a lot of money. But good luck to James, very likeable and always gave his all. Can't really ask for more than that.

The first couple of games where he was scoring bangers seems ages ago now.

That's a fantastic deal for us if it goes through. Fee is pretty much double what many would have expected us to achieve.

Wish James all the best. Seems like a nice lad and always gave his all.
Us?

We are a collective number of people, of a forum. We didn't buy, value nor sell him.

Fact is, we have a player of value. Top and top bottom of it really. Irrelevant of wages/fees. Which shouldn't matter to anybody but the club.

This needs that Vince McMahon meme with the price going up for each image.

The denial that our welsh wizard is worth more in the eyes of professionals is hilarious
I’ve been one of about 2 posters defending him on here in recent weeks, I think he’s a good player. But if we manage to get 40m for Dan James I’ll be astounded.

United will use his vacant number (21) to more use than his fee for a new player. This helped finance Ronaldo and allows Cavani to get 21 and enables Ronaldo to get (again) the 7 shirt.
I don't believe that's possible. Once a player is registered with EPL, both the player and the number are registered. The only way #7 becomes available is if Cavani is dropped from the squad or sold. I'm guessing its #28 or #77 for CR7

That tweet sounds really unlikely. I think Everton are broke — they couldn’t afford Dumfries and they’ve signed two wingers (for a combined fee of like 1.5m too)

We'll see if the PL allows it. For CL, it's clear that Ronaldo can wear 7 and Cavani 21.

Murtough deserves a knighthood for pulling this off if the figures are accurate

Now to put that money towards the likes of Neves/Bissouma/Tchouameni or Camavinga immediately....
Holy hell, I actually don't mind James as a squad player and even I would snap off the hand offering 30 million pounds for him.

They certainly aren’t broke.

To say how shit we are with getting fees for our players, getting £30mil for James is astonishing.

I’m pretty sure their previous transfer windows have caught up with them — they’ve only made free transfers + a 1.8m deal for Gray this summer.

I’ll be sad to see him leave. Seems like a nice lad and he had a really great start to his United career. Very emotional when he scored his first goal for us right after his father had passed away.

To sum it up. There are other players I’d much rather see sold. So, DJ, good luck on your future endeavours. Was nice to have you at United.
