Nothing will probably happen but in the off chance it does I think Neves will be the target
Yeah it's down to him and maybe Saul but only if they can find a replacement tomorrow which I can't see happening

Neves was always the one I wanted out of all the targets we were linked with. Don't think it will happen, but I hope for some good deadline day drama tomorrow.

Let's see if United will do anything... Yeah thanks for that tweet.

We must sign 1 more DM, our only viable option is McFred, if one is out we are fecked. I think Neves will do it. Wolves boss our midfield last match with Neves.

I'm not really sold on him either but here the thing...

For one, if we get him for £35m at age 24 (his current age) we can sell him for £25-30m at age 26-27 and basically recoup most of the money. In the meantime we avoid having to play McTominay or Fred at DM which we have to agree are just not as good. Or, god forbid, Matic.

The other thing is, we've been talking about this all summer and no one has actually come up with a ball-playing DM that is better. Bissouma, Tchouameni are more athletic for sure, but they are not better passers than Neves. Camavinga is a box-to-box really and he is also very young and likely to be one for the future rather than one to improve us immediately.

Players like Jorginho, Locatelli (just moved), Fabinho, Veratti... just aren't available. There's a dearth of good ball-playing DMs. So if we want to go for a Carrick-esque player and it's not Neves, then who?

Big day ahead.

sign a DM or we‘re in for what’s likely to be a disappointing, long season.

Respectfully disagree, but fair enough mate. I thought he was brilliant to watch. Yes, final product is lacking, but power, pace, skill, strength, directness - he was fun to watch, even if it was against us.
He was electric. To think many posters on here would tell you Daniel James is the better winger

Good thing he didn't tweet it and it's just a snippet someone has taken from a podcast.

There has been no link whatsoever. Just that we considered him but no approach till now.

We badly need him in our midfield. Hope everyone at the club saw that on Sunday. Our midfield was unbalance, we need him to steady the ship and let Pogba do his thing. Matt Judge please its time to take out the chequebook for the last time in this window.

I feel as though we'd be hearing noises about this by now if there was any chance of it happening. I think we're done

I think so. It's a bit disappointing as you could argue that we need midfielders more than we needed Ronaldo. But feck it, we've got one of the best goalscorers in footballer coming back which is exciting. Up to Ole to make the midfield work and use Bruno and Pogba well.

Indeed. It's difficult to moan about the window we've had when you look at the three we've brought in.

A lot on here will still manage to do exactly that though

If he played like Carrick and was a tempo setter of his team then I would be interested in him.

However to me he just seems like someone with a great long pass rather than someone who plays with the ability to actually dictate the tempo of his team.

I kind of see this with Kalvin Phillips too. He can make a great accurate pass to different sides of the pitch but he isn't exactly dictating the tempo of his team either.

If Wolves bring in Renato Sanches maybe there's a chance that we can bring in Neves. They'd still have Moutinho to play the deep-lying role and Sanches as the box to box.
Obviously i'm clutching at straws but it is one scenario.

Off to Spuds,,I am reading..
Where are you reading this? I'm utterly convinced that if he's to leave Wolves today, he'd be coming to us. But I don't think he's leaving Wolves. Especially after it looks like their move for Sanches might've hit the rocks
