Not much different to when we used to yell Ruud. That made such a noise too, it felt like the whole ground was rumbling, it was ace.

I understand that United fans didn't do it for him 12 years ago, but Juve fans adopted it. I'd be surprised if we didn't adopt it too. Might not be all 70k doing it, but I'd bet it's quite a lot.

Why would anyone join in with a player's celebration? What an stupid thing to do. It's known throughout the world that true football fans just stand there when a player scores. No applause of anything else that could be construed as joining in.

If he shits on the floor in the tunnel we'd yell it. People are buzzing to have him back.

Christ, how miserable are some people on here haha?

I hope so, you may think it's cringe or whatever now but if he smashes in an important winner against City and an absolutely electric stadium does it, you'll bloody enjoy it.

Football is meant to be fun, stop being so uptight ffs.

No reason why the fans shouldn't. I mean Ronaldo does it to show appreciation to his mentor, Siu Alex Ferguson, doesn't he?

All that article did was fill me with rage because it shows that Ronaldo makes less money than the annoying ginger twat who sings other people's songs with his child sized guitar.
Seriously. Fecking Dr. Phil makes more money then most on that list? How the actual feck did that come about. I know he's popular but not above anyone on that damn list.

I'd give the Old Trafford stewards a tazer and if anyone isn't siiuuuu-ing then they should be tazed until they comply

Please enlighten me, what the hell does it even mean and how did it come about? (I've seen him shouting this when accepting the ballon d'Or)

Not sure if your everyday match going fan will be au fait with social media memes and Fortnite celebrations, or care very much for that kind of thing.

I think it's a bit cringe but I could probably get on board, especially if it pisses off rival fans
It's actually from the Spanish word "Si" which means yes.

Here's Ronaldo about the origins of it:

Cristiano Ronaldo said:
"I started to say 'Si', which is like 'yes' when I was at Real Madrid. When we win, everyone says 'SIUUU' and I started to say it, I don't know why. It was natural," said Ronaldo to DAZN Italia.
"I scored a goal and I did that [the celebration]. People asked me why did I do it and I don't know why. It was natural! Because I always say, the best things come in a natural way," added the Portuguese.

I don't really like memes and Fortnite myself, this isn't it anyway. I'll definitely be doing it when I'm at the game, I think it's sort a way to show our affection for him, reckon he'll appreciate it.

Wouldn't be doing it alone in front of the telly though, unless I do it so often at games it becomes natural:drool::devil:

It'd be like someone saying yup instead of yes/yeah

I find it very very cringy but in an exciting moment nobody will care

Very easy sitting here and say “no” or “cringe” but when you at OT and he scores a 30 yard screamer you’ll get caught up in the emotions and shout from the top of your lungs SIIIIIIIIIUUIUUUUUU!!!!

Why not just celebrate as normal rather than some premeditated noise? It just doesn’t feel very “United” to me, the kinda thing you would hear an MLS team do, or if a British team did do it it would be Watford or Reading or someone like that.

So what's classified as "United" for you?

I see what he's saying.
I can't imagine the hardcore Stretford enders doing it on a Saturday 3pm kick off against Wolves in a scrappy game.

On a European night on the other hand with a load of younger fans against Young Boys or something I can see it.

Personally I don't think I'll do it, but then again if everyone around me is clearly gearing up to do it who knows

Hmm echos of his time in Madrid.. I have mixed feelings about it.

I'm planning to go a couple of the CL home games and no doubt will be swept up by the atmosphere when (not if) he scores, and will be loudly Siiiuuu-ing with a bashful smile and little giggle to myself afterwards. Doesn't feel very British but, whatever makes his holiness happy.
