How is it not on TV. I'm gutted I won't see it live.
It is going to be on the wireless, the BBC have changed their planned schedule for 3pm on 11/9/21 dropping City vs Leicester as the commentary match so they can do Man Utd. v Newcastle instead, to cover Ronaldo's return to Manchester United.

Sky and BT must be furious that they don't have the Newcastle game. The re-debut of Ronaldo would do huge numbers.
Whoever called the shots on United's first game after transfer deadline day being a 3 p. Kick off will likely be dead by now.

Again how do you know what the vaccination status of the players are? Varane was also asked to quarantine for 5 days presumably cause he didn’t get both jabs.
I feel we are arguing different things. Ronaldo was denied the elite sportsman exemption. all epl domestic players have this exemption for when they travel, the unvaccinated ones can still leave the hotels to train and go to the stadium etc. If Ronaldo was given this he could have started training immediately. I assumed Varane wasnt given this exemption due to the fact that he wasnt technically a united player when he arrived to UK. Ronaldo actually is a United player registered in the EPL. So for those wondering yes there are people that have exemptions to quarentine rules in the UK.

This is also why the EPL didnt want to allow teams to go to red alert areas as under current rules even with vaccine and even with sportsman exemption they would still have to quarantine fully and not come out at all. So I still feel i am well in my right to be upset. Or am I miss interpreting the rules?

This is Good and all but I'm still gutted, Raphael Varane Didn't get the number he wanted, which i think the Club has just done something like a double standard with this one.

They can Get No.7 off Cavani's back but can't get No.4 off "Phil Feck Injury prone Jones"

Phil doesn't agree, you have to respect that.

Cavani agreed, simple as.

To be fair he’d already contracted Covid 19 last season so maybe that’s why he felt he doesn’t need to be vaccinated. I’m not sure about the science behind that though.
I remember reading an article saying people who've had Covid naturally had better immunity than those who had vaccines. Not sure how reliable the source was tbh

Perhaps Varane just doesn't care about the shirt number as much as Ronaldo.

That's the case for any communicable disease. The stronger the immune response that occurs, the greater the number of antibodies our bodies produce.

Do United ever sell the authentic version of the long sleeve shirt?
I think I’ll grab an authentic one instead of a replica this time around
I’m beginning to think that poster who said Ronaldo was bigger than football clubs is right. I’ve been riding a wave ever since the news broke and everything just adds to it. I’m not convinced they would have allowed any other player to take the 7 but Ronaldo is just too big to refuse!
Haha! We are all riding that wave!! :D

Did we sell James so Cavani can have his 21 and return the 7 back to Ronaldo?
Crazy how your United career can just end. We must have a sell on and buy back clause.

Why is he not vaccinated? No quarantine is required for fully vaccinated people entering from Portugal even just to see the sights never mind moving here. I’m finding it strange so many footballers haven’t had the jab.
Many footballers are un-vaccinated. They just don't trust it, seen a few interviews of players talking about other players.

I know, but being double jabbed significantly reduces that risk.
Hmmm not sure if I agree. My friend got double jabbed a month before becoming very sick with Covid.

My other friend had 2 people die in his family with Covid after being double jabbed.

Got a few kits from DHgate and they look mint. How big is a difference between those and the ones sold on clubs website?

4 x 30 goal seasons or 5 x 24 goal seasons. Anyone else I’d ridicule it but I’m just not going to write off his chances of it. Could you imagine it though?

  • Goes to Real Madrid, becomes their all time top scorer.
  • Goes to Juve and scores over 100 goals holding the 1st and 2nd spot for most in a season and most goals in consecutive matches (16 in 11).
  • Returns to United after 12 years and lifts a record held by Rooney who stayed here most of his career including all of his best years.
If he did that, he’d be above Messi as the GOAT IMO. Top goal scorer at both of the two biggest clubs in the world? Nobody will better that.
Yeah if he does have the top gs record for both clubs then there's no discussion for me. Still think he'll play max 3 years here.

Haven’t seen this forum so united since SAF.
the positivity here is really good to see. Every one is riding on the CR7 euphoria. Long may it continue.

I think he is also fastest to reach 100 goals and broke record for most goals in a single season for Juventus which stood for around 90 years.

Why do i get a feeling of pride on Jones's part, Respect Jones why should i do that?? Phil is a cnut there's no hiding that now, he should be ashamed of himself!!

I'll rather respect Cavani for showing us what it means to respect another person.
A tad harsh there but yeah he has plenty of defenders and he's not done himself any favours when it comes to the fans.

Enough stats out there around the world to clearly show that in general, being double vaccinated significantly reduces risk of Hospitalisation and death.

Reduces risk being the key word. Reduces.

I can't imagine having the energy to get worked up over Phil Jones wanting to keep his number. Why do people care?

How so? It's only speculation among fans that Varane wanted the #4. Maybe Varane is such a good guy he never asked or expected it.
It makes Jones look so petty.

Wow, nothing like making a mountain out of a molehill. 4 was already registered with Jones, so as with CR and the number 7 a special dispensation would have been necessary from the PL. I doubt Varane 4 is the global brand that CR7 is and there for the dispensation would not have been forthcoming. Let’s see who wears the 4 next season…..
