It always surprises me just how many Liverpool fans watch United's games religiously.

Also they really despise Solskjaer don't they? I love it

I've never seen a more deluded bunch. The few times I have gone on there just for a good laugh I've honestly left shocked at the things they believe. It's almost as if the entire forum is a parody.

interesting to see on here a lot of people mocking Liverpool for having a poor window. Surely its more commendable to do well with players youve nurtured and developed, not just buying a team of superstars to win (City, United, PSG etc).
Literally exactly what Liverpool did, the only difference being they got world class players for cheap. Credit to the scouting and negotiation departments, but you spent as much money as you could to get a completely new team. To lump United in that group too is mental. You have to spend to win things, without a doubt, but United has more homegrown talent than the vast majority of top teams.

Almost like we haven’t had a first team academy player in the match day squad since 1937.

It is indeed very weird. A very good friend of mine watches every United CL matches (apart from their own matches) even late into midnight in the rare chance that United loses and then he would rub it in. I admire their dedication

Now i'm tempted to watch their match tonight.

Sure, buying said superstars can bring success, but it's hollow success in my book. Give me passion for the club and a group of passionate players, not mercenaries (Ronaldo, Cavani, Pogba, Di Maria, etc).
There's that good old RAWK delusion.

The PL now almost stands alone. It's a distant second for other leagues. The likes of Brentford and shit Southampton will cause defenders nightmares, forget the mid table clubs like Villa and Everton. Defenders just cannot breathe, even for a second and even against supposed dross. Despite being pumped even Norwich will surprise a big team or two, you watch.

No other league offers that. Varane comes from such a league where he can switch off for a third of a season. Not here and he will take a season to acclimatise to that sharp reality.

Edit: Zlatan was fun to watch but gave us zero nightmares that he would lead you to number 21 or number 4. Zero.
Cool story Dumbo

3 goals conceded already against Southampton, Leeds and Newcastle. Should have been 6 if Wolves put in a third of their shots. Early days but unacceptable pattern really. Hey, ho. Carry on.
It's fine, we are doing a Chelsea approach from last season where we will concede 3, score 5 ;)

If this pattern of us being top of the league continues I don't know what we'll do. Not just any team can beat Norwich AND Burnley, while holding 10 man Chelsea out for 45 minutes to earn a point. Am I doing it right?

No.

You drew with relegation battlers Southampton. You don't win the league in September, or as per your DVD from last season, in January.

Good luck with your midfielders against Chelsea's midfield. By the way Leeds put two past Varane and Maguire. How? The Whites are rank this season.

How did they put 2 past a team that only conceded one?

And here you are, drawing conclusions yourself after 4 games. Incredible.

It's the same midfield we had last season genius. You know, that season where they scored a grand total of 0 goals against us in the league? Is that the Chelsea midfield that battered you until the red, right?

Yeah Varane, who didn't play the game, should've stopped that 25 yard screamer, as well as the other goal you just made up... We came away with a GD of +4 vs Leeds and you a GD of 3, despite Leeds having a player sent off. I do believe this could be the worst comparison even used on this site. You criticized a player that didn't play, got the score wrong, and fared worse against those same opponents than we did. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

How can you have 2 shockers in the space of 2 sentences? That's impressive! Dumbstar makes sense...

I was indeed wrong. 1 goal past Maguire and a world class squad replacement for Varane.

The other points remain correct.
Youre talking shit.

Leeds we’re beaten 5-1 and didn’t cut us open. They’re were largely underwhelming. You’re cleary thinking of last season when it was 6-2 and they could have had 6, but we could have had 10.

Wolves were the better team and lost. I seem to remember that happening to Liverpool and awful lot the season they won the league, it happens. The defence was superb against Wolves, it was the midfield and attack that was poor

we’ve conceded 3 goals in 4 games. A worldy, a massive deflection that was going wide and a good counter attack from Newcastle. Maguire was reckless and it left Varane in a 2 v 1.

Really? You don't? Would be baffling stupid to say that after making other sweeping claims after 4 games then, eh?

Slightly awkward of you to bring DVDs into the mix after you released one detailing your run to 2nd place a few seasons ago.

It's the same midfield we had last season genius. You know, that season where they scored a grand total of 0 goals against us in the league? Is that the midfield that battered you until the red?

Yeah Varane and Maguire should've really stopped that 20 yard screamer. Equally you only managed to score 3 against them, despite Leeds being down to 10 men and still creating chances against you. You also only managed 3 past Norwich while City put 5 past them. Does that mean your attack is shit? Or are you the only one that's allowed to draw stupid comparisons? :nervous:
Our attack is clearly weaker than Utd and probably on par with Chelsea. Have said it in many threads. But like Chelsea's attack it is more than sufficient with the way we play.

Defence however isn't costing us valuable easy fodder points against Southampton. If it did I would be shitting bricks regardless of how good my attack was.

No, your attack is costing you points against 10 men. And how you only managed 1 against the suicidal 10 men of Leeds is baffling, too.

You're just going to sweep over the catastrophic failure of your comparison then?

I mean, you're arguing about a result you fared worse in, despite spending a considerable portion of the game with a man advantage, while getting the scoreline wrong, as well as criticizing a player that didn't play. And you think people are going to take you seriously? Really?

@Dumbstar what are you doing? You're in the RAWK thread. Surely you've been around long enough to know getting into it in this thread isn't going to do anyone any good?

Our defence conceded very little last season, even with Lindelof and musical chairs in nets.
This season we’ve upgraded our centre back and the keeper seems to have found renewed form
We don’t have a major weakness in defence.
We do miss more choices in midfield but that’s another story.
