Still hunting around for one, unbelievable they are still near impossible to get.
I've had two people (who've originally come round to repair/fit something) spot the PS5 and ask me how I got mine.

We've just moved and I had it up on a shelf but I realised it was in full view of the window so I've moved it hidden behind the TV stand

I'm surprised how big the difference is with 3D Audio on my TV speakers. I was expecting nothing much, but it's actually pretty impressive.

Miles Morales is the one I've tried. I was expecting nothing to be honest, but after going into the settings and setting it up for my position in the room it was noticeably different.

Does anyone else’s PS5 sometimes go quite high saturation? I used to be able to fix it by switching between two HDMI channels but that doesn’t seem to be working now.

That's weird. Does your tv only support HDR through 1 hdmi? Is it game by game?

Guessing it'd be a hdr related issue but if the same game/menu randomly changes then likely its something else. Have you swapped the hdmi lead itself?

I’ve got the HDMI in a different slot to the one I had it before but it shouldn’t really make a difference. It’s in HDMI one at the min. Never had any issues with the lead.

Worth trying a different lead just to check.

For me, only HDMI 1 has HDR and the others don't. But if the saturation fluctuates without swapping the lead then yeah won't be that.

I'd definitely try a different cable if you've got a spare one.

Other than that you could try to turn off HDR in the PS5 settings to see if that helps. HDR can be a bit weird with some TV's and PS5 outputs HDR for non-HDR content. You could also check the input settings on the TV for the HDMI ports. They should be set to enhanced, but it can be called different things on different TV's.

Got no clue
Press a Menu button whilst playing, and it should tell you the mode in the settings

Put it on games mode to avoid input lag and the TV putting an extra layer over the top. If that's then too bright just turn it down rather than changing the mode.

It was on standard. I’ve put it on game now. Will see how that goes, cheers!

Mine arrived this morning and I'm already loving Astro's Playroom. Got Spiderman: MM installed for after but I'm in no rush.

I've got a Curry's VIP code for a PS5 bundle, valid until 21st September, if anybody wants one?

You have to go in-store to redeem it and then await delivery to the store.

Bought Hades the other day and played it last night for an hour or two. Early impressions are very positive. I love the art design of it all, the characters are great and the dialogue is very well done - very engaging and funny, which is a difficult thing to achieve. Combat is really fun, but can't say too much about the weapons as I haven't gone that far so haven't really unlocked many. Beat the first boss last night and left it there.

But yeah, very good indeed.

I stuck that game on just to see what all the fuss was about. Didnt think much of it, and yet somehow, 200 hours later Im still playing it. It seems kinda simple at first, but then as you get into it theres so much more going on and to explore. And just when you think youve got it figured out, it throws something else at you to switch up the replay value. Honestly, I havent enjoyed playing a game like this since FTL. Very fun, very addictive game.

Whats the bundle? How does it work?
PlayStation 5 Disc Edition with additional DualSense Wireless Controller in white, black or red £499
PlayStation 5 Disc Edition with Ratchet and Clank £499
PlayStation 5 Disk Edition with PULSE 3D Wireless Headset £529

You go in store, give them the code and purchase your bundle of choice (subject to availability). They'll then let you know when it's ready for collection.

It's an excellent game. I didn't play enough for the 'true ending' - you need to complete 10 runs for that and by that time I just didn't have the motivation to continue fighting the same bosses and doing the same levels - but I had a blast anyway.

It's a little grindy if you want to see the entirety of the story but it's really fun to experiment with different builds.

Ah wow ok. Then yeah i think i'm interested - is it literally just a code? And are they working on a huge backlog?

Yeah, it's just a 15-digit code. From what I can tell, it guarantees you a console as long as you redeem it by the 21st of this month, but they don't say anything about the turnaround time. I'll PM you now.

I am using ps5 with a home cinema setup with a receiver and it's great. But I don't think the explicit 3d audio option works in this case, but that might have changed with the latest update.
Yes it's the latest update I'm talking about. I've been using 3D audio with my speaker bar for a couple days and tbh I don't know if I can tell any difference...

Well if its just one bar under the TV you won't be able to. You need multiple speakers or a pair of pulse 3d headphones.

I tried Returnal with 3d through the TV last night.

It certainly sounds different, but it's tinny. I can tell depth with it but I wouldn't say it sounds good.

I'm intrigued how it'd sound with a bar as I feel with a bit more bass it'd achieve the depth of sound that seems lacking through the TV.

The point I am making is that in order to actually experience 3d effect , you need multiple speakers , regardless of whether that 3d audio signal is provided.
You don't though.

See my reply to afro before I replied to you.

It is creating the 3d audio effect but obviously not as deep as through the headphones. I imagine with a bar it will achieve an acceptable audio experience, but will still be worse than using headphones.

Isn’t the latest 3D audio update just for tv speakers rather than speaker/sound bars?

I can notice a difference now when I’m playing Ratchet & Clank with the audio coming through my tv speakers but when I switch the audio over to my soundbar, it just sounds the exact same as before.

The first PS5 beta software lets you "enjoy 3D Audio through your TV speakers" and the DualSense controller's microphone can be used to measure the acoustics of your living room. 3D Audio support for soundbars and receivers will arrive later.

I thought it sounded muffled but with more depth to the sound. I got used to it after a while and quite like it, but I agree that more bass would help a lot.

I am yet to see anything resembling adequate 3d effect coming from a soundbar. It will be slightly different for sure, but thre is a reason home cinemas have 7+ speakers , and with atmos they can get into the dozens.

Someone above has posted that the tech may not be there for bars currently but it most certainly is creating a 3d effect with 2 speakers on the TV.

Yeah muffled is a good way to explain the sound. On Returnal specifically, bullets that impact further away give off a really tinny sound.

Acoustically it's the same thing, I will check it tonight to see if there is any difference, but will absolute shocked if there is actual 3d effect - meaning hearing sounds to the side and behind you.
