I can barely understand the first one not given but the Zouma foul, if that's not even worth a 2nd look then what's the point of VAR. In fact the Ref should be giving it live. We can't be fighting against that kind of ineptitude bordering on corruption and expect anything from the season.

We give opposition so much time and space out wide when defending.
Fred shouldn't play for us again.
Bruno is Hollywood everything. Should keep it simple at times.
Basic errors today could have cost us dearly against quality opposition. S
I'm happy for the win but I'm concerned with how this team of Sancho, Ronaldo, Pogba etc is playing. At times we made West Ham look like prime Barcelona.
West Ham hardly had a sniff mate. We dominated most of the game.

I thought we were well worth the win and a few good performances out there. Second half was poor and it looked like two teams that looked very leggy. Hardly surprising given we played most of our game midweek with 10 men on a bad pitch. No idea how some here think we were second best. They hardly had a sniff and any chance they did have was from us fecking up a 5 yard ball!

Also can someone explain penalties To me? The commentator was going on about how there are three criterion now but that first one looked nailed on for me…

West Ham will do a lot of teams at their end honestly, they're a strong outfit. Referee was awful and Ronaldo deserved the penalty in the second and to me, the first too. We played better than some are going to say, there is an obvious hole still in the middle though and I truly believe that fixing that would instantly move us from challenging for the league into champions elect. Plenty still going to complain that Olé didn't do enough but the subs were the right ones imho. Jesse doing everything he can to put himself back into the first team though, clearly wants it. Winning ugly is still a sign of champions and 4 games won at the start of the season is a good start, don't give a shit who says differently.

Kudos to Lingard and all, great display of 'bouncebackability', magnificent goal. But I'm still in absolute disbelief about the penalty calls. Like how?
Dunno. Unless Atkinson and his VAR buddies put a bet on a West Ham win, I can't imagine how they could make those decisions.

What???

We had 17 shots, 10 on target.

That's more than the Leeds game we won 5-1 and the Newcastle game we won 4-1.

Admit you have an agenda
He expected a poor game so he wont let it go probably. Feel sorry for guys like that.

Glad for De Gea, he deserved to save one eventually.

Comical decision not to give Ronaldo a penalty right there at the end, absolute shambles of a ref.

- Ronaldo is the man. Could have scored another. Unlike him to miss that sitter.
- Defense still very hollow. Every time West Ham attacked i was clinching my buttcheeks
- Greenwood passes well to Ronaldo, Ronaldo needs to sometimes pass to Greenwood.
- Pogba was unusually bad today. Maybe tired? Maybe upset at Fred and how much he sucks?
- Fred absolutely aweful. Big liability both going forward and defending. He fights, but lack of skill is so evident this season. He is so much worse this season than last few seasons. What the heck is the reason for such decline? Most evident problem is his lack of pace, probably because he is not fit enough. That translates then into terrible passing and terrible positioning. Not sure what can be done about him.
- Lingrad. Great bounceback. Very important goal for him. Even if the game was draw at the end this game would be huge positive for Lingrad.
- Macguire needs to get his sh1t together. Terrible passing today.
- Shaw... There is a reason why players keep their arms behind their body when blocking crosses. Could have cost us the game. I know it is a harsh penalty, but it is almost always given!

Overall conclusion: There are some positives from this game, but our midfield is till incapable of grabbing the control of the game. It is a huge problem and without reliable midfield you can't win titles. Even Pogba was bad today. Huge problem that Ole needs to solve. If we can't get the DM, we need to create formation to mask that huge lack of cohesion we have in the midfield.

Ole's subs did the job. I was a little unsure about Pogba coming off but Matic was not asked to do a lot of running and was a good option. Well done Messe for making space and putting the shot out of Fabianski's reach. DeGea with a clutch save, getting back to his best.

Crucial to our attack today was McTominay back in the side. Fred was good for about half an hour and then ran out of gas. We really are one solid midfielder away from being a top side.

Our defense was a bit worrying. Never a pen on Shaw, that was a ridiculous decision. Shaw's corner deliveries have been excellent. Remember when we couldn't even beat the first man? Soon he and Ronaldo will develop telepathy and those corners will result in goals. Varane was good, AWB was decent, Maguire worst of the lot.

Happy for Jesse after his howler midweek. That'll do him the world of good.

As for the game itself; it's results like this one that spark devastating championship runs. It's on, lads and lasses, it's most definitely on!

Great win and the passing and movement from us showed a lot more cohesion across the 90 minutes than we've shown for quite a while in terms of the consistency with which we kept our momentum going on the ball.

The penalty was a disgrace, especially since we should have had one just a few seconds before, so pleased for De Gea to make that save after the shootout disaster and prevent them getting an undeserved point, and what a cracking winner from Lingard, hopefully we can build on the performance as much as the result.

I am looking at a draw until Lingod scores a screamer. Great 3 points, please drop Fred. Can someone shout at Maguire? How can our captain misplaced 2 simple pass when we are chasing the game. Never thought Dave can save a penalty. Important 3 points towards finishing high.

Pogba was good in the first half but very poor on the second half. Was killing our attacks too much with holding onto the ball.

3 points, what a goal jesse. Great pen save.

A poor performance again for me.. not enough quality in possession and other than Ronaldo no threat. Poor coaching evident again.

Maguire and Shaw were very sloppy
Fred diabolical.
If you think that's a poor performance, I am sorry your expectations are insane. That's away to West Ham. And they were again very defensive minded. And yet we had so many half chances and decent chances. Not to mention the penalties

Wan Bissaka deserves a better rating today
He was pretty poor today and he easily could have given up a penalty on another day. The main thing for him is that he just offers no threat going forward.

Good first half, probably should be leading in that. Lacklustre second half until Messie's emergence with the goal. He must be utterly relieved after last week's debacle. And my word what a time for De Gea to save one finally. Will lift his confidence hopefully and elevate his performance down the season.

All in all, we deserved the victory and score line too is a fair reflection of that. Away record extended and on to the next one now.

I love that Jesse was the one that scored the winner.

Huge win. Massive.

- bent ref, check
- hit post, check
- missed sitter, check
- conceded a fluke goal, check

The football Gods were firmly against us today & we still won. In the past we lose that game. Big win.

Aside from a spell around the hour mark we controlled the whole game. Probably the 2nd best performance of the season. On another day we win that 4-0.

- It's great to have our keeper back. He is full of confidence and we need him.

- I cannot see many easy games this season. Every away game has been a proper scrap.

- I forgive Lingard for Tuesday night. What a banger!

- We are still struggling to break teams down when they sit deep. We don't move the ball quick enough. Too many sideways passes that are easy to defend.

- Two stonewall penalties not given. No contact on the ball both times. Took the player down. It would have been a foul anywhere else on the pitch. The ref and VAR bottled it.

- Rice is proper decent. He would improve us.

Agree with all that except for Mctominay, who was clearly unfit and shouldn't have started.

Shaw definitely deserves a mention for his corners today, they were excellent. He seems to have mastered the inswinging delivery that has eluded God knows how many United players before him.

Roller coaster.
I hope that this is the catalyst for DDG to return to his top form. He really needed that.

In the end happy with the result.
Bad refereeing. But all worked out.
Hes made points saving saves now v soton, Wolves and west ham. All at key moments

Best performance of the season for me that. Everything went against us and we still came away from a tough away game with a win.

If we can upgrade Fred or McT, we'll be a powerhouse of a team

De Gea redemption for the Europa Final (not that he needed to make up for anything) and Lingard redeemed for Wednesday.

Scruffy second half. West Ham were there for the taking and we didn't do enough. Passing again lacklustre, it needs to improve fast.

All that said a hugely positive result and the manner it arrived was amazing. Lingard coming off the bench to score a beauty at West Ham, no pens for us, they get a crawpy one right near the end, they send Mr Hammer on to take it who's not missed a penalty since Adam was a pup, De Gea decides to make a wonderful save. Unbelievable.

We need to ride this positive wave all the way. We're showing the kind of balls we showed last season away from home and if we can just smarten up our act we could be in business this year.

In a weird way, we might be better off the way the game developed. DDG and Lingard getting experiences that will greatly boost their self-confidence, and the way of the win surely greatly boosting team cohesion and morale.

Wonderful moment for Jesse. Pleased for him. A sensational strike. Huge moment for Ole and the team.

Ronaldo’s no penalty in the 93rd minute was just blatantly missed by the Ref and VAR should have requested it be checked on screen by the Ref.

The handball is the rules however harsh it is but VAR was quick enough to have that one checked.

Delighted for De Gea after the Europa league penalty shambles. At last.

Still laughing to myself about Moyes bringing on Noble in the 94th minute for one kick.

What a brilliant last 5 minutes to a game! What a win!
