Hats off to him, won us 3 points after receiving a lot of stick in mid-week.

Delighted for him. Obviously great goal, but thought he played well and was energetic when he came on.

When he's focused, he can overtake Martial without a sweat.

The type of goal best wingers score.

He is a good man to have on the subs bench. Has a knack for getting space in the box and getting a shot off. Don't think he should be a starter mind.

Good on him. Glad he scored after midweek. Now let's find him a new club.

Great goal.

Weird flex not to celebrate but ok, helped us with the 3 points is what matters most.
To be fair he got a standing ovation from the West Ham fans. They've not had a player of that kind of impact since the Di Canio days so he obviously means a lot to them. Understandable that he didn't want to piss on their parade.

2 goals now. I said he has to contribute quickly in his short time to be in Ole's plans for the rest of the season and he' done just that. Sadly at the wrong end on Tue but I think that was on Ole. For West Ham, England and United he's been very good in and around the box. Such an important goal today as well with others not finding a way. I think he's proved it wasn't just him being much fitter in the covid season when joining WH and less pressure.

With the stick Lingard got for giving the goal away mid-week, I just wonder how many on here who said "rubbish...should have got rid, etc. etc." are now applauding the fella....

If Sancho had scored Lingard's two goals, we'd be raving about him...instead, people are MEH about his start at the club, because their expectations were far too high.

On form, Lingard is actually an extremely useful player.

Absolutely. It makes sense in the greater context.

However, in the context of my perspective, being a United fan celebrating a late winner, I would appreciate it if our player, who had a shit week and cost us a point, celebrate if they just scored and potentially won us 3 points.

But as I said, it makes sense. Overall its no big deal.

They are footballers, I dont care if he is popular, my point was from a footballing perspective.
I do not believe he has a future at this club other than a bit part squad player, and if his blunder against YB is anything to go by it doesn't even look like he's worth it as a sub for games that we need to close out. Again it just increasingly feels like we should just cut our losses but Ole disagrees and that's all that matters - even though his reliance on Lingard seems to be hurting him more than it's helped him. But I'm just repeating myself at this point so I'll stop here.
Aside from the blunder, I couldn't see a single positive contribution from him against YB.

His performance, on the whole, was a typical Lingard performance and why he should have been sold off ages ago.
Guy is 28 but is going to end his career being perennially regarded like a raw 19 year old youth prospect. It's a travesty that with everything going our way during the loan deal we still couldn't manage to sell him and have given him both playing time in a new season as well as a new contract(?). He's going to be our new Anderson and compete with Phil Jones for that honor.
Ole is so biased towards Lingard that it is unbelievable. He gets minutes before Donny and Martial. Blimey
Commentators saying how Ole is trying to get Lingard to sign a new deal, you can't make it up. Should have sold it to West Ham would have been the best move for all parties
Hope you lads celebrated his gem of a goal!

Not even just his goal, but he always finds space to receive a pass from midfield. Always been a fan of his movement and spacial awareness.

Fair play, good way to put Tuesday behind him and us. Especially with him being g such a confidence player, it was important ot to dwell on it.

Yeah I don't understand the criticism for him not celebrating. It's pretty self explanatory. Revived his career there and they gave him a standing ovation when coming on, as well as applause when warming up.

However biggest impact since Di Canio? I'm not sure about that. Dimitri Payet?

I'm one of his biggest critics. Infuriating player with his struggles, but on balance he's earned a second chance and a clean slate from everyone.

Jesse doesn't have the right attitude to play for Man Utd. And, I don't buy the "that's how the modern player behaves" argument. Too much song and dance, and not enough ruthlessness for my liking. I really don't understand why Ole didn't want to sell him to West Ham.
It just shows how much I know about football. That could be a vital two points in the title race.

Never understood why he wasn't played out on the left in previous seasons, his movement and shooting technique is tailored to that side so much more than all the time he has been stuck out on the right.

Having cussed him on every occasion possible, let me at least put in a post to celebrate a great winner he’s scored today. Redemption for him and Ole. Brilliant strike.

Never thought he would bang it in like that. Superb goal from nothing really. Hope he carries on proving me wrong all season.

Lingard has been playing well for a while now, at West Ham and the NT and now he is contributing for us as well. As a sub player he is not bad, he used to be a good sub when needing a goal.

The west Ham loan seems to have done a lot of good for him.
