Poor start to the season. Last season, I thought Lindelof and de Gea were lucky to have him; now I'm thinking he's lucky to have de Gea and Varane.

Come on, 'arry! Shape up!

Yet another in the long line of poop performances. Ole giving him the captaincy of the batt and making him a 'de facto' irreplaceable was the biggest mistake Ole had made so far...

He started last season like this
He played through it and then grew into the season

Don't see us dropping him because when he gets into form he will then start linking up with Shaw more

In England's shirt he's scoring 3 goals from corners and in united he strikes a lot of pigeons, I don't understand that.

Was terrible today but fortunately didn't cost us (that mistake in the first half did cause us to lose our grip on the game for a few mins)
Needs do get back to his best like he did last year
I'll bench him for the cup game as I think he needs some rest but knowing ole he'll probably start

Won a few headers but was just generally just doing normal Harry things but instead today people took advantage of the many errors he often gets away with.
Not helped mind by this suicide football of not being good as a team in possesion but throwing our fullbacks up as high as we can get them, then turning over the ball as much as we do so they get caught out.

Not worried about him long term but we need his form back sooner rather than later. He’s been undeniably flat so far this season. It’s not like we’re blessed with a high quality midfield so if our main passing defender is also not at the races we really feel it.

Have seen him play worse, but he simply isn’t the CB many have painted him as on here. You see him next to Varane & it’s not even close.

At some point I’m sure Varane will make a mistake or two but Maguire wants to be a CB he isn’t; those marauding runs ending in a sideways pass or a long ball to AWB who’s being given space have never been that impressive & his lack of mobility will forever be an issue. Hopefully he gets that he should be the compliment to Varane & not vice versa.

He looks even slower than normal, maybe he's not fit? Needs to be dropped mid week for sure.

Perhaps, after the international break and having to play under the cosh for an hour in Switzerland, Maguire was tired. However, he was making some very dodgy decisions today. Not acceptable really. Especially from the Man Utd captain.

Seriosuly needs to wake the feck up. He's been giving away silly chances this season. He started slow last season as well, but it's now time to kick on.

Those 2 passes, which he gave away still annoys me. That's Fred levels of incompetence, at least Fred passes it instantly. This guy had the ball for like 2 mins and assessed all options before sending it out of play.

I never understand how he's so poor with his headers at corners for us. With England he is pretty decent, but somehow for United he barely hits the target, considering he does very well to actually be first to most of these headers.

Usually a slow-starter.. Couple that with a new defensive tactical set-up and partner.. But he is running out of excuses, especially the two 10 yard passes he miss-hit today.

Really poor today and to be honest he's been poor so far this season.

That 2 minuted period in the 2nd half near the end when he just smashed the ball right out of play under no pressure twice summed it up.

Surprised how many times he was caught out of position today.

Varane, Shaw and De Gea carrying him at the minute, Needs dropped for Lindelof to wake him up a bit.

Still find it weird that we gave him the captaincy before he kicked a ball for us.

Personally I think Shaw's been getting caught out of position constantly this season. Both the England lads need to pull their finger out.

When Maguire predictably gets back into form will it be because Varane's making him look good?

My biggest problem with him which I think I've mentioned before is his lack of urgency and lackadaisical style. He seems to take an eternity to make a pass and his weight of pass is all too slow and lacking pace. He seems to think he has loads of time on the ball. This is the fecking premier league and you get no time Harry. He's still got levels to go up though. I just wish he bangs in a few headers from set pieces as well. Our set piece deliveries have been great recently yet bear no threat in the box.

I don't rate him nearly as highly as some on here. However, credit where it's due, he was excellent last season; I also thought he had a very good Euros. His form is slightly baffling. Maybe he's getting used to a new defensive partner, I don't know. Hopefully he gets back to last season's form soon.

I thought he was fine today apart from the one moment when he tried to overplay against Bowen. Made numerous defensive interventions in the box. I think the issue was West Ham didn’t have a conventional striker and Bowen was causing a problem with his movement.

I tried to find reasons why he is the United captain, but I didn’t find any

He was poor today and in fact I’ve noticed he’s been off the boil in the last couple of games. I’m sure he’ll be good but Varane is definitely looking superior at the mo
