Our defense has come on leaps and bounds with Tuchel. But let’s give credit to Mendy, his save % is absolutely ridiculous. We wouldn’t have 23 clean sheets with Kepa in goal. It’s crazy how people here think he is our weak link.
Not a big name so falling victim the same way Keylor Navas did in terms of not getting the credit he deserves.

And it's not just opposition fans either, I've come across three Chelsea fans in the last month alone who not only don't rate Mendy but also think Kepa will win his place back off him, it's absolutely insane.

How was Mount yesterday? Is he expected to start on Sunday?

He was not sharp at all. His passes were not accurate. His crosses sailed. Ziyech was walking the pitch most of the match. I am not sure which of them will be out there with Kai on Sunday? Kante should make his return on Sunday.

Hasn't had a very good start to the season it seems. Why do you reckon that is - fatigue after the Euros? He looked quite good under Tuchel at the end of last season.

His save stats last season were very average in the league. Ranked 15th at shot stopping out of keepers with at least 20 starts. Not sure whether he just ended well after a bad start or what but it doesn’t suggest he’s all that strong.

Probably not getting to the speed yet in my opinion. Fatigue I don't think so. He did very well in pressing even yesterday but sharpness was missed in his passing game.

Eh wouldn't go quite that far - yesterday was his first truly poor performance. He was quite good vs. Palace and Arsenal, and did a very credible job dropping into midfield against Liverpool overall (though given the red card he was obviously subdued from an attacking perspective).

Chelsea got easiest last 8 fixtures. Except one against united rest are winnable. This could be the deciding factor in the title race.

The team to beat. Already played away at Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal as well.

Werner though  he’s awful.

City next as well, imagine being top of the league after 6 games with 4 of them being those fixtures? Christ

Unless City get their act together like last season then they're easily league favourites, for me. I think they'll likely have a consistency to their game that us and Liverpool won't,

Will get 90 + points this season.

Only issue I think though is if Silva or Lukaku get injured for a few months as with either out for that timespan can see a few narrow wins becoming draws.

Team to beat this season and not many will from what we've seen so far.

Liverpool are the interesting ones at the moment, they've had the easiest fixture list of the 4 but we know they do have the capacity to be consistent

I don't remember a Chelsea title win where they ever had a real challenge, can't imagine us, City and Liverpool will all give them a free run at it but who knows

EDIT: forgot about the Ancelotti title win

Having Kante is cheating, should be DQ from the league.

Kante's the key for them imo, he's the one they need to keep fit

In other seasons I'd say yes for sure but Jorginho has been in god mode last 6 months and Kovacic has his excellent games so not as crucial as recent seasons he has to play every single week.

'tis a silly place
Liverpool/Chelsea's mirroring of each other's results this season is pretty eery, as Drury was also saying just now

3-0, 2-0, 1-1 (against each other), 3-0, 3-0

Can't imagine that has ever happened before after five games

They are well run as a business. Results only, no time for sentiments. Abramovich is ruthless and it works.

Scary because not only are they not conceding goals but they aren't conceding many chances, and scoring goals with defenders and midfielders contributing

Definite favourites for the title. They have been really good since Tuchel took over, no rebuilding or any 5 year plans nonsense, immediately improved the team.

Look absolutely formidable this early in the season. Easily the early favourites for the title. Whoever finishes above this Chelsea team will pretty much win the league.

They've played Liverpool, arsenal and spurs already. If they can avoid defeat to city they are in a great position as lukaku will punish all the lesser teams

They've had tougher fixtures than most and come out of it well. Impressive. That and their ridiculous squad depth makes them joint favorites for sure. I'd put Liverpool and us one step below them and City for the title.

I hope all 4 teams continue their form, and we have a proper title race for once.

They play City next - Tuchel's Chelsea has already been a thorn on their side in the past few games... I would actually be surprised if City snatch points against them next week.

There’s no way they have better players than us, you can extrapolate this how you want.

Unreal how sound their defence is. Just 1 goal conceded this season, and that was a penalty.

Did anyone on here honestly rate a back four of Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen and Alonso before Tuchel went there?
