Interested what neutrals thought of his decision making today. Was listening to world feed and think it was Jim Beglin on and he wasn't having it at all. Thought he should've just shot at goal.

I actually thought he made right decision. Hesitated a bit when he received the ball and De Gea was cutting down the angle. In the end he produced pass that cut out keeper and defence. Mina holds back his movement for another second and he can still slide in to reach the ball and score, something Calvert-Lewin would've had knowledge to do.

Big moment of the game with only a few minutes and from the first replay it actually looked like Mina was behind the ball (obviously not on the other replay) so just interested if others thought he made the right or wrong call in that moment as he obviously could've just shot straight at DDG.

I would have shot. He knew it was Mina there, and not a striker. Passing to a CB in that situation, that was tight from the start, or having a shot at goal from a good position? I would have gone for the shot, but he lacks confidence i guess. That pass was risky and it didn't pay off, a shot was guaranteed.

He obviously made the wrong decision because they should have scored. Thank god that Mina is an idiot.

Any competent player would've shot into the far corner with power. It wasn't even difficult. Mina would've still been there to tap in any rebound too.

It's th reverse situation of Greenwood last week. Ultimately the end result determines the narrative, one player decided to shoot and the other decided to pass

Almost identical position Townsend was in. He should have taken the shot. Squaring it honestly just seemed like he was passing the buck.

To be fair to Davies, Mina shouldn't have been offside. He should have made sure he was a yard behind the ball and the same thing would have happened.

Overall I like it when players square the ball in those situations... Basically guaranteed goal (provided yer man isn't pointlessly offside)

If he’d shot and missed everyone would have been saying why didn’t he square it for a tap-in.

It’s really Mina’s fault for not staying behind the ball despite being able to see down the line.

Fortune shines on us again. For there to be a thread even mentioning this by United fans just shows how lucky we were that he did not shot and we came out with a point. Anyone know if Ole has a pregame ritual or believe in a deity that not many know of? I need to emulate whatever he is doing because it is granting him great fortune time and time again.

When I saw that moment, I taught it was odd towards why he passed. A defender was much closer to Mina than de Gea was closer to the far post of the net.

Off topic but I thought you were fortunate in mid week as well that Villarreal don’t have a decent finisher up top.

I think he should’ve shot but if Mina holds his run a bit he has his tap in.

He's not particularly fortunate. We've conceded two freak deflected goals, one of which had a foul in the buildup. We've been denied clear penalties, Villa scored a goal that should have been ruled out, that won them the game. We've had luck both ways this season.

Had to shoot, dreadful decision. Would have been the winner.

Really thought he was going to shoot and chances are he would've scored, passing across was madness.

Shot. If he missed, it’s ok replays would have showed Mina offside anyway.

A striker shoots but the pass was actually the better decision, if Mina had been onside. Took De Gea completely out of the game.

Would Mina have gotten the ball if he was onside?

I thought about in during the game and I still think that it was a great decision.

He should've shot. Thankfully he's a terrible footballer and chose the wrong option.

I don't know. If Mina is calling for it I think Davies has every right to expect him to be onside though.

100% go for the shot and it’s 2-1 he had plenty of time to pick out the bottom corner.

1984 was about to be revisited...

As that was the last time Utd were beaten at home in the league when winning at half time

...thankfully Tom Davies decided to let the 37 year run continue :)

Shoot across DDG, he would may have parried it out to Mina ? I don't mind it was off, but the lazy defending was the worst and got away with it.

You should take into account that you are replying to wum who is a Poch fanboy.

As for the thread topic, The main question should be why was Davies let in so easy. Yet another lapse in concentration?

Odd to have a thread about this
Go back to your panel of judges house of games thread.

Just interested what people in that type of match situation would do. I thought he did the right thing but Beglin disagreed and so you have the debate.

That was so stupid. He should have just shot. He had the whole goal to aim for and De Gea wouldn’t have been able to cover much of it. Great for us that he made such a stupid decision.

I thought Mina looked miles offside in real time, but it was much closer than I thought from the VAR replay.

Davies hasn't scored in about 2 years, so his decision was understandable. It was a good move. But he should have just smashed it as hard as he could.

Just seems odd to pick that one moment from a match to have a thread on it. Run of the mill premier league game.

There's plenty of different decisions in matches that could go either way.
