Quality game of football that was. Mad to think we're only a point behind Liverpool and equal with city.
Every side have their problems this year. Liverpool are now conceding a shit load of goals and relying on bad misses that could substantially add more to the against total and it’s only October, City should have won that in the first half and Grealish looks to be a massive problem for them. KDB falling off a cliff could see their false 9 formation struggle going forward.

As pessimistic as my post might be, at times... I gotta keep hope that Ole get's his shit together. We've got too much talent to believe we can't perform at the highest level.

I'm not so optimistic about the influence of Pogba being a poisonous influence with his not signing and likely going off to another club. If I were Ole, I'd bench Pogba until he signs or send he to the reserves
You can bench or sell Pogba, it won't change much. Too many other issues

Who is even mentioning Solskjaer here? Where have I mentioned his name in this thread? This just show what your agenda is.
Oh Yeah, what has Ole - our former player - to do with the current united team. My bad !

Looking over my shoulder.
Liverpool were atrocious in the first half and bailed out by Salah and the ref in the second. There was only one good team out there.
Agreed! If United put on a similar display, especially in the first, everyone would be ranting about how Ole needs to go. Completely outplayed, at their home ground no less. Ref also gave them one big feckin helping hand.

Come on. If we signed a midfielder and not Ronaldo with Cavani out then you can be absolutely certain we would be having the exact same discussion. The same would apply if we didn't sign Sancho. Could you imagine of we didn't pursue Varane?
Why you only looking at one window? We needed a midfield just as much the summer before and we had a very poor summer in terms of making the most if the cash we spent.

I agree we need a new Midfielder. I just would have signed one ages ago. And again I'll reiterate that we are still underperforming regardless. Wouldn't you agree? Or do you think we sign a DM and it all clicks together?

Red Card for Casemiro!
Sick of Owen in post match. Kop was quiet as a grave after City equalized, and he's asking KDB how Anfield was the most special away place to be in the whole wide world.

No one talking about Milner of course. The bias is sickening.

So I can't mention that we are on par with ManCity and only one behind Liverpool? Is that a lie? It shows that it is hard league and that it is very tight at the top where we are at the moment.

City looked pretty toothless for large portions of that too...thank feck they didnt get CR7. They'd walk the league with him up front.

That result spurs me on, think we're still in contention.

Kinda amazed by the United fans envious of Liverpool's performance here. City embarrassed them for a half and were a clear level above except for the magic of Salah and the ref being a coward. Counters and individual brilliance is all they had, which is fine, but this was not an example of a great team performance by Liverpool.

With Pool and City you just know they will score or at least create a lot of chances. With us we are so unpredictable.

Pogba has been so frustrating since he came to United. I'm so done with him, even though yesterday I was thinking he's the only possible midfielder with such talent to provide service into the box. The trouble is his attitude and consistency. Granted he's a competitive player, but his commitment to leading by example isn't his greatest attribute

At some point, did I see Ederson walk a good 3 yards outside the penalty area with the ball in his hands and nothing happened? I didn't get the impression a foul had been called either. He just casually strolled outside, complaining to the ref and then rolled it to a player.

Around the 71st minute.

Have you already forgotten we bought a midfielder last season?

I think we need one but we'll improve as the season goes on regardless, as we have every season under Ole. Remember this time last year there were threads created about fighting off relegation, and 80% of the forum thought we wouldn't finish in the top 4. That's not to say we're going to win the league, but I think the negativity is overstated. Either way, its a digression away from what I had said.

Consistency, I agree 1000% but attitude is ok for me. Not everyone is a Cavani

City’s opening 7 have included Spurs, Leicester, Chelsea, and Liverpool away.

United have played at Southampton, Wolves, and West Ham.

I’ll take being 2 points off top after those fixtures!

We bought one seemingly for the bench / as a Bruno or Pogba backup instead of one that could replace Matic Fred or McTominay.

Id argue that was very naïve wouldn't you?

The Pool v City was a nice flowing game of football. Neither side decided to sit back and defend.
Unlike most of the teams Utd have faced this season.

Are you privy to some piece of information I'm not? His complete lack of minutes in Bruno's role would suggest otherwise. I'd also say it's equally naive to assume we've spent £40m on a player we wouldn't consider a serious contender for a starting birth.

Well he has never a DM or even close to one so we clearly bought the wrong player.

He isn't signing on for another contract. That means his heart is elsewhere.

I'm okay with Pogba's decision, and almost can't blame him.

Ole needs to open his eyes to the situation and bench his ass for the season. We need to work with the talent that are committed to the club going forward. Fielding Pogba is foolish, just my feelings on this subject at this point

Last summer the desperation for a DM wasn't nearly as prominent as it was now. Where you so vocal about it last year?

Edit:

This is what you thought last year.

RW is a must. Anything else is really depending what we are looking for.

Id personally go and sign Grealish and call it a day if that's all our money.

Worry about LB and DM next Jan or summer.
That's not me trying to 'expose' you or anything, just to use as an example of it far easier looking at things retrospectively. You as well as I thought RM was the priority last year. Which leads us back to what we signed this year and how similar criticisms would've been if we hadn't signed Ronaldo (and he went to City) or if we neglected RW again, or even let Varane go elsewhere.

Same here, I'm really grateful for what he did as a player, especially THAT goal, and for stabilising things when he came in as manager, but he should never have been renewed. That's probably why he's grinning away, as he knows he's safe

He's irking me too, he could grin all he liked if we had clear patterns of play, well drilled players, and were playing good football and were top!
Agreed

Liverpool will win it i think. Looking like the team that won it comfortably two years ago.

Come off it. Liverpool played the champions, we've played mostly average sides.

It can be elsewhere without being much of an issue. I doubt Ole would play him so much if the attitude was that bad.

They were still terrible in that first half and were ultimately very lucky to finish with eleven players. Both teams were sloppy in the first half, but Pool were awful. How many shots did they have on target?

I've never understood the obsession with atmospheres at football stadiums both in the media and on this forum, but to each their own.

You might be right, Ole will probably be foolish enough to trust him even though Pogba's heart isn't 100% in with Manchester United. This might be the big mistake that Ole make's this season. I'm guessing he's wondering if this difficult decision might cost him his job.

Personally, I don't trust or believe in Pogba. I hope he rides the bench until he signs or leaves.
