Man City have good fixtures coming up, Burnley, Brighton and Crystal Palace.
You could strike gold with the right midfielder but its trying to get a player who will start at least 2 of those games.

They also have Champions League away on Tuesday night to Brugge after Burnley, away to West Ham in league cup after Brighton and Brugge again after Palace. So there will be a lot of rotation but its even quite possible that benched players in the league come off the bench and e.g. score the 5th goal in a rout against Burnley and Palace.

Foden could be tempting as short term and long term pick.

I think this wildcard calls for premium defence with a midfield of Salah plus 2 or 3 low end players. I cant find justification for any of the midfielders from City or Chelsea given the rotation risk and apart from Son, who is even worth considering from the bigger clubs? I've never had such a weak midfield but the options just aren't there this season IMO.

It's weird how some days I look at my team and think, this is a complete mess. Other days like, today, I'm quite happy with it.

For a few weeks I picked up Aubameyang and Saka. I'm not that thrilled about Aubameyang, but I think Saka will have a good run after the World Cup qualifier break

What would ye do this GW lads? As I was saying during the weekend, considering working to Son and a stacked defence and 3 mid priced forwards especially once DCL and Bamford come back.

So I think you have money spread around a lot. Makes it harder to manage, but can work well if you nail the cheaper picks.

I think your def is pretty weak, Alonso is your main man that may not play and we got really hard fixtures to come.

So wait for Alonso news. Greenwood can go as well. I plan to sell him myself.

Feels like there’s so much work to do!
Shaw is the first to go for a city player. I can get rid of White and get Ramsdale to cover Arsenal. I’m keeping Duffy and Livra. Too much value there to get rid. They are starting cheap and good. I want to have 3 banging big team defenders. TAA + 2. I also don’t mind taking a risk with someone like Stones because he most likely won’t get subbed on and the backup lads could easily outscore him anyway.

midfield long term currently thinking Salah stays. Greenwood to Mbuemo. Sarr to Raph and hopefully Gray to Son with DCL covering Everton attack.

Attack: 3 of DCL/Bamford/Jimi/Antonio/Jesus/Toney

it’s basically the team I would have started the season off with but it’s taken a while for my preferred players to get into form, injuries in the forwards and the template was banging this season

Worth a WC?
That is a really strong team without a wildcard. Have you taken hits?

I think the only flaw with this team that I would fix on a wildcard is go more agressive with Cancelo and maybe Chilwell.
Rudiger and Dias are a bit boring, but they are certainly fine picks.

I just used my FT this week, I think I wanted to get Benhrama and Sarr out too as well as change Toney for Antonio and Sanchez/Guata for Ramsdale/4.0

Alonso out, Walker in. £5.5m and he's starting every week pretty much!?

Rudiger looks to be injured. Not with the German squad. Things are starting to look really tricky with Rudiger, TAA and Lukaku doubts.
Hopefully we will get clear news if players can play or not.

Nope, looks very solid. Obvious Ronaldo -> Lukaku option exists as well.

Do you want any major changes to the side? Some have been going both Lukaku + Ronaldo, Some have been getting Son + Salah + Lukaku, Some with Vardy + Lukaku etc.

I'd just hold off and see if any of the premium forwards / mids start firing and then make the call. If KdB, Son, Kane suddenly start racking up the points, a lot of people are going to be in trouble.

I thought he was cleared late last week for the Macedonia game?

I seen the talk he would be able to play today though. Hopefully we get more news.

I am quite happy to sell him and then bring in Chilwell if he looks nailed for Norwich.

If Rudiger is out surely Azpi is the best or the most nailed defender for Chelsea?

Yeah, but I think Chilwell is the best one if he play. Ázpi can play as central defender with James back.

Just need another start from Chilwell before I gamble if I do.

How on earth is Raphinha on +101 in delta on fplstatistics, like he's about to go up in price? Makes little sense considering the fact he might not start/probably get subbed on next game

This is for the draft. So price is not an issue.

What are the odds that Werner starts for Chelsea more often? Will he be a good punt? Currently I have ASM. Other options are Jesus, Toney, Ings or Armstrong

If Lukaku is out then he might be worth a punt and you have options to bring in for the future too.

I think I'm settled on my WC team now (barring news about players like Rudiger and Lukaku).

Ramsdale
Azpi, Rudiger, Cancelo
Salah, Raphinha, Mbuemo, Son
Hwang, Antonio, Lukaku

Subs: Foster, Liveramento, Duffy, Brownhill

There are a few injuries in there but a WC is long term so if those players will be out one GW, then I'm willing to leave them in as I have a playing bench.

I plan to bring back TAA for Azpi after Chelsea's easy fixture run ends. Have a few other transfers planned also. But this is FPL, I bet my plan goes out the window...

Very nice. Only thing I would probably change is double City defence maybe over Chelsea (so Dias over Azpi) but that's arguably a 50/50 call.

I think that midfield and attack is the perfect blend of template and differential..

I'm similar, but like you awaiting last knockings news.
These last couple of seasons the idea of using a WC to generate squad value seems to have gone out the window, so it's all about the actual squad now.

Still don't like Brownhill over Luiz, but maybe that's a 0.2m difference in funds? I know Luiz is now 4.6, and think someone was surprised Brownhill went down.

Not sold on having to play one of Mbuemo and Hwang every week either. I currently have Foden in there, but he was more a place holder as I saw his value was increasing.

I'm still very keen on the TAA-Rudiger-Cancelo mixer, but may have to compromise one of their values down. We'll see!

Almost identical to mine.

If Lukaku and Rudiger are passed fit I'm going to sell Raphinha for a one week City mid gamble and get him straight back.

I wanted to get Son in and Sarr out somehow

I thought that was 100% identical to my latest draft that I did a few days ago, but I can afford Dias in for Livramento! It sounds like Trent is fit for the week though, so I need to figure that out.

I have had a bad few weeks and have major issues forming for this game week. I have only 1FT and no money in the bank…

Sanchez

Tierney, Alonso, Rudiger

Salah, Sarr, Raphinha, Gray

Ronaldo, Lukaku, Antonio

Bench: Steele, Livramento, Williams, Gilmour

I could be facing Rudiger, Alonso, Raphinha and Lukaku all not starting and my bench picks were poor. I have no WC and don’t really want to waste my FH. Any suggestions on how I could cover myself for this game week?

I fancy keeping Lukaku and Ronaldo, so wondering if the best move is to take a -4 and downgrade Antonio to Hwang and Gilmour to Saka?

That would let me change Alonso to Dias/Cancelo next week if he doesn’t start again and also gives me a far better bench option going forward.

Thoughts?

Sell Alonso for a City defender. Probably Dias who is a bit more nailed than Cancelo. Livramento is a fine starter this week.

Don’t use FH.

Don‘t panic.

Its one GW, you can put a team out, roll with it

Be careful with Alonso. Think Chilwell will play more now.
