The story behind that - 4 years ago his then girlfriend (today wife) and he were fighting with each other on the street - she was scratching his car and his face with a key - he then slapped her face twice.
A Madrid court ordered both two each 31 one days of community work and 180 EURs - and ordered them to some months contact ban...

They did not keep the contact ban, in this time married and went into honeymoon... They are married and have a 3 year old child now.

But - there is still the topic that he did not keep that court sentence and had contact with her...
Oh man... I always thought he was simply a d*** for beating his wife. I had no idea that the two of them fought equally, changes a bit the moral of the story for me

Makes me wonder, what about her? Would expect that she would face the same procedure now?

They somehow dismissed that. But he is a famous footballer - so there is always more publicity for the public authorities. In some cases that is favourable - but often it is not.

The story now is about "not keeping the contact ban". He probably let things slide in that topic and did not go against it with a good lawyer in time.

Based on what I've gathered from various articles, it seems like Lucas's wife wasn't notified of the restraining order at the time, so she won't be detained for now. Now that she knows, though, she has to keep her distance.

This report says that she's not facing the same legal trouble ('contempt of court' or something) as her contact ban order hadn't been officially delivered to her yet when they went on honeymoon.

Farcical.

It's never that some dude just randomly beats his wife. Most of the time it's both sides that get physical and more often than you'd think it's women who initiate the physisical violence. Men however don't contact police after their wives hit them, but rather they start hitting back and of course men do more damage, so in the end you have a woman that's totally beat up and a man who goes to jail for it.

Yes, there are „dudes“ who randomly beat their wives. Believe it or not.

Because of this one incident?

How are Leverkusen financially and how likely is it they can hang onto all their best players and possibly add to them in the coming windows? They clearly have a bright future if they can do that

They are owned by Bayer. They are and always will be financially secure and rather independent from their fortunes on the pitch (as long as Bayer's marketing budget doesn't get cut ;)), but they won't make big leaps and they won't be able to keep top players longer than is necessary for their development. E.g. Wirtz seems all but certain to leave in 2023.

This was true for the last couple of decades, wasn't it. They always had good scouting, at home and abroad, but building and maintaining a top level squad never happened, they always seemed not to mind when players with top potential would play for them a few years and then move on. Bit like BVB at this time.
Kirsten, Sergio, Völler, Bernd Schneider, Schuster, Wörns, Novotny, Ballack, Ze Roberto, Lucio, Berbatov, Butt, Adler, Juan, Donovan, Arturo Vidal, Kroos, Emre Can, Heoung Min Son, Carvajal.. they all played there
Leverkusen is not as much a town as a few housing blocks next to the giant Bayer facilities, other big clubs like Cologne, Bochum, Gladbach, Düsseldorf, Schalke, Dortmund, Essen etc are very close geographically, they never managed to build enough of a fan base and attract enough outside sponsorship interest to become financially less dependent from their owner company, maybe they didn't put much effort in it either.

2-0 Lewa. Phonzie with what is shaping up to be another good performance. That is pleasant viewing.

What isn't pleasant viewing however is the word "Nagelpilz" being continually spelled in giant letters all over the ad banners. What the hell, Bayer?

3:0.
Sülinho should be banned for being unfair, Müller scores with his dick. What a first half!
Bayer is playing like shit, though, what are they doing?

Oh, and it's 4:0 as I type.

Amazing, shades of Bayern-Barca or Germany-Brazil between the 3:0 and 5:0

Taking off players to give them a rest in minute 39 seems a bit over the top though
