Drop bruno in midfield with Matic and Pobga for more control.

Take off greenwood, move sancho to the right and bring on Rashford. Bailly for Maguire who is clearly not fit. Its so simple yet our joke of a coaching team and manager will do sweet feck all.

Maddison has dived pretty much every time he's had possession of the ball, and Pawson's bought every one.

I don't think we've played too badly, considering our last few games. Some good moments, but still nowhere near good enough. Maguire has been tragic. Looks nowhere near fit. I'd rather have bomb-scare Bailly back there.

Also, Pogba looks slow as feck. He was never a sprinter, but he had a burst of acceleration at least. He seems to be beaten to every loose ball even when he's closest to it.

Individual moments are a lottery and can happen any time but it feels like the general performances are getting progressively worse game after game at the moment.

Ole needs to do something about the midfield at the break, we can play another half with them walking through midfield and dominating us.

not sure what the answer Is but feels as though we need an extra player in there, possibly Bruno playing deeper and McT instead of Pogba.

We have top quality forwards but when you are playing against sides with better midfields week in week out it's going to be a struggle and renders them pointless.
Agree. That front line should scare anybody, but with no service they are redundant. That is probably why the individual brilliance thing came in. They basically have to produce something for themselves.

    Usual cafe though.
People using their own personal grudges with certain players to try and heap the blame on that one guy.
When in reality the whole thing looks a bit shaky.

    We have some major problems.

    Defence can't keep anyone out.
Midfield is either 2 fairly limited scufflers who can't play it, or 2 quality on the ball guys who can't stop anyone or run around enough.

As big a problem as those is that we don't barely give Ronaldo a sniff, and Sancho and Greenwood barely get involved.
Greenwood can put a few incredible shots in like today, but isn't going to create much, and Sancho doesn't look much of a creator so far either, though very early days, and we barely give him the ball.

If we had any sense we get a new manager while the season isn't a complete shit show.

    Look at Chelsea last year.

What's the point of wasting time on a failed experiment??

We are crap every game. It's not just bad results. We don't play well. We don't deserve to win most games we play.

When will we tell Bruno to actually do something in midfield? This number 10 bullshit needs to stop. No proper team plays that anymore.

Basically been the story of United since SAF retired.
We have gone from having no identity under Moyes, to possession type under LVG, to counter attacking under Mourinho, back to no identity under Ole.

If Pep or Klopp or Tuchel had this team we would look much better. Even Conte would make us look much better.

With the way things are going, I would not even keep him as a sporting director now that we have people working by committee like a DOF would do. I'm just done with his bullshit, both professional and personal.

If it wasn't for the fact that he has been living off the last 22 years on that special moment for the club, there's no way he would get a job at such level. He's like Jason McAteer living off the glory of the big goal for Ireland against Holland, as Roy Keane would say.
He's been living off a special moment for the past 22 years? What does that even mean? He has done nothing since?

Maguire looks awful and not fit. Rushed back for sure.

Pogba looks like his usual self. Total liability yet people will continue to delude themselves.

Ronaldo barely getting ball. Sancho doing nothing.

    It's a real mess.
We paid 70m for Sancho to play RW but Greenwood is playing well on the right and Ronaldo is not going to be dropped. Pogba will NEVER be the central mid we are looking for. Matic has the positional sense but just doesn’t have the pace anymore.

Would be leading 1-0 at half time but for yet another lapse in concentration, Maguire the culprit this time choosing to day dream during a live match. Any other top 6 team in the PL that has individuals that switch off as much?

Need to step up in order to claim the 3 points too many passengers in that United team 1st half.

I wish we would swap Sancho and Greenwood. Inverted wingers are so predictable and annoying. Leads to selfish play and shots from poor positions.

Shows you how Ole really feels about his centre backs when Maguire gets rushed back, he looks way way off it and wouldn't surprise me if he costs us the game.
No it shows that ole needs a superstar 11 of individual brilliance to mask over how rubbish he is as coaching us to play like a great team.

For the players we have, we are not very good. Sad really. No identity whatsoever. Just a collection of very talented footballers making it up as they play.
I'm not having a go at you, but I'm surprised this gets brought up every match as if it's something new. It's been apparent for a long time that we have a poor team.

Take off Greenwood? Our best attacker from the first half? Makes sense :houllier:

Agreed. It’s oh so clear that there’s no where to go under ole, he can’t turn this around.

Maguire isn't having a good season. He has been bailed out by Varane, Shaw and De Gea many times this season.

Just saw the goals. Greenwood continuing to look our best player (outfield) and that mistake by Maguire, yikes. He's been pretty bad this season. Is it mental, feeling weird being the captain now that players of a much higher level are playing in our team?

I cannot believe we are thinking of doubling his deal without any pressure to do so. Bruno is understandable, he deserves it, but come on. We are so frivolous with money.

Mctominay. I imagine Tom Heaton could cover more ground if asked.
It's simply not covering the ground. If so we can get a marathon runner. When you have Pogba doing feck all McTominay is not going to be any better. It's going to be worse. Matic reads the game much better. He is really a one man midfield together. Take Pogba off and put even McTominay or DVB and it will get better.

Exactly right. Maguire will be the scapegoat, it will be someone else next week. The management isn’t good enough, we have the squad to be more entertaining and effective than we are.

First half an hour was pretty even but we probably just edged it and that brilliant strike from Greenwood gave us something to work with, unfortunately a really sloppy bit of play from Maguire and a great finish from Tielemans gave them a real boost and after that they definitely looked the more likely as their press became more intense where as ours became more fragmented allowing them to cut through us a few times. We need a reset at half time to come out more disciplined and focused to cut out anymore silly mistakes but it does seem to be a bit of a symptom of our play so not sure it's going to happen.

They have been terrible in possession, what are you talking about?

They're our best 2 mids for possession, but are being absolutely waltzed through.
Fred and McTom would stop that, but can't play it at all.

Not a great watch so far.

Midfield is our best combo when in possession, but arguably the worst combo when not.
    Basically yeah.

Matic has been utterly useless out there. You can moan about our defence until you're blue in the face, but the problem begins in the midfield and spirals downward from there.

Not good. But we can still win this, with a bit of composure.

Sancho has had one or two moments, one drive in particular looked particularly good to me. He's being fed off scraps though, we cannot get this midfield going at all so we're trying to launch it over everyone like we're Big Sam's Bolton.

That goal is just infuriating. I'm fecking sick of conceding comedy goals, if any opponent needs a hand getting back into a game we're always happy to oblige. Dogshit.
I'd fancy Ivan Campo, Gary Speed and that Stelios bloke over our midfield most weeks at the moment.

Exactly! But no doubt Ole will ever do this, he just doesnt have the tactical nous to see this
