I love Ole. He comes across as a good man plus he's a socialist..

As a player he is a club legend.

As a manager/coach though he is poor compared to the likes of Guardiola, Klopp and Tuchel.

The club should be aiming higher.

I am 100% Ole out but I don’t think he’ll get sacked just on the basis of yesterday’s performance. The fact that yesterday comes on the back of some recent abject displays won’t have helped him but I think he’ll be given the next couple of premier league games to see if he’s capable of getting a positive reaction. Tottenham, Atalanta and City will decide his fate and that is a fair view.

The next 3 games are crucial for Ole. Two or, god forbid, 3 more listless and incompetent performances and I think he’ll be gone and rightly so. There can be no more doubt about his lack of tactical nous and the ability of his coaching set up. He was literally embarrassed by Klopps Liverpool yesterday just as Scholes predicted after Atalanta. Poor and disjointed performances have been the norm now for way too long and despite the quality we now have in our squad we are no closer to having any kind of positive identity on the pitch.

Still, as always I just want the team to do well and that desire is very strong now when I look at the squad we have. But there’s some real bullsh*t going on with it with no clear solutions.

The Pogba situation, VDB and now Sancho. Three players, all expensive and currently Ole seemingly has no clue on how to use them so why buy them (I know Pogba wasn’t bought by Ole but in 3 years, he’s not figured out what to do with his talent). Our basic play is so aimless, we seem unable to do the simplest of things on the pitch. We can’t keep laying the blame at the players door because all of these players were bought because they were excelling at their former clubs, they’re top players.

The manager and the coaches are paid to get the best out of the players we have, can anyone really think our current manager and coaches are doing that? No way. It would have been a dream gig to win something under Ole and Carrick and for all their faults, the glazers have backed him handsomely by funding a rebuild that’s bought some real quality in. I’m my view, we have a fantastic squad (obviously we still need a proper DM), on paper we look amazing, on the pitch we look worse than we did last season.

So, the next 3 games will decide his fate I think. If we don’t come through them in good shape, I don’t think any remaining Ole ‘in’ folk can have many complaints. There has to come a time where no more time can be given.
We have 1 points from our last 4 league games with some of the worst defensive statistics in the league as is.

How much further do we have to slide before the inevitable happens? Let's say the next 3 games go on just about as well as the last 3 - then what next, should we give him the next league games against Watford, Chelsea and Arsenal to decide his fate?

For the record I'm pretty sure Ole has lost the dressing room as well. You have players like Bruno openly speaking out to change the team tactics, for one.

I'll be honest, I don't understand this point of view. You say it's fair to give him 3 more games to see if he can turn it around, but then go on to point out he's not managed to figure out how to get the best out of his players in 3 years.

Surely we've all seen enough by now to know he's not even close to being capable? All 3 more games does is provide another opportunity to fluke a good result and prolong his stay, giving rise to false dawn #537. Sorry but enough is enough, he deserves to be sacked today.

Pretty sure he's getting sacked today or tommorow.
You know something we don't? We all are hoping for that to be case but "being sure" about our board to act decisively and in timely manner is inviting disappointment and frustration.

I've been considering the OLEOUT view since the Wolves game (still dont know how we managed 3 points) and I rarely had a knee jerk reaction on this site. Having said that who are the alternatives? Two really talented managers are at Chelsea and Liverpool. Zidane isnt all that. His role in Real was just to establish his authority amongst a set of players that are superior to our current squad. I said it before (when Joses head was on the chopping block) Pocchetino isnt nearly good enough to be the manager of a club with expectations. So who then?

He can be allowed to carry on, but nothing will change, he won't suddenly become good enough. In truth its been time to go for awhile. Give this squad to a manager with an idea of how to use it properly.

Honestly, this has always been the daftest view on the caf during Ole’s time. As if there are no managers with fecking miles better CV’s and who have proven to play great football with inferior sides.

People said Tuchel was a flavour of the month, Nagelsmann too.

The problem is we are not run like a big club. A top club with these results and performances is gone, without even blinking.

With United, it will be the same back the manager until they realise they wont make money and change it.

12.3% want Ole to stay? Interestingly, 'Among various causes of disability, mental illnesses account for 12.3% of the global burden of diseases'. - Narayan KK, Kumar DS. Jokes aside, he has to go now guys and girls.

Changed my vote to sack.

Served his purpose; steadied the ship, built us a great squad, repeatedly secured us Champions League football. Time to let a better coaching team come in now.

Conceded 11 goals in the last 3 games. That could quite easily double in the next 3 games.

Paying he will be gone around 10am if not it isn't happening today. Imagine they would have the conversation with him around now with it breaking anytime from now.

Don't think it's going to happen, Glazers are too busy trying to bid for an IPL franchise. Woodward will do all he can for this not to fall on him now he is on the home straight. So many people at the club trying to save face.

I would think the majority of the die hard Ole sympathisers (of which I was one) can see that this is a long deep trough we are in. It goes back into last season if you look at the results and performances then as well.

There was always contradictory criticism of Ole: some lambasting him for picking Pogba and Matic, some deriding him for picking McFred.

I disagreed with a large portion of the criticisms (even if some of it was hard to deny) and I always said the points are what matter, the only true barometer, but with one point from a possible twelve, we don’t even have points any more.

I just cannot support a manager who loses 0-5 to Liv. In time I could forgive - if it was a blip, if we were winning the other games but we are not even doing that anymore.

I think there's 3 scenarios we will take:

1) Zidane on a 2 year deal. He can focus on winning now, and move on to his France national dreams or Juve after that.
2) Blanc on caretaker (he should have been caretaker post-Mourinho for me). Good coach and more likely to get us playing as an organized unit and stay competitive and in the top 4. Then in the summer we can bring Ten Hag or similar out of their clubs.
3) Stick it out with Ole too long and plausibly fall out of top 4 by seasons end. 3 teams above us comfortably with Leicester, the side 90 mins away from placing us 5th a couple seasons ago, looking settled and welcome back some injured players.

I'd be fine with Option 1 or 2!

I don't think its daft. I think its a genuine question that will have an impact on Ole's sacking (now or by the end of the season). Nagelsmann is at Bayern and Tuchel is at Chelsea so you really haven't answered my question.

I don't know how anyone can back manager, we are on terrible run, playing shit almost every game.

1 point in last 4 league games games and only 4 teams have conceded more goals than us. Luckily we have 6 points in CL instead of just 3.

We don't care about winning.

Ole won't be sacked until the end of the season.

Not even expecting it.

The entire season is a write-off in October yet again.
In the post game stuff Neville said ‘he’ll get to end of the season but he needs to win a trophy’.

Which trophy does Neville think he can win? Europa League is only possible if we blow the CL. League is gone. League cup is gone. CL we aren’t good enough. So it’s only the FA cup and there are 5-6 teams you’d definitely fancy over us and maybe more.

If there is any leadership and direction at United, Ole needs to go before the next game. No other club of comparable size would tolerate this. It's a shame it's come to this, but it's obvious to many that it's the end of the road. Ole will always be loved at the club, but there is no coming back from yesterday; it was a watershed moment. He's been supported in the transfer market and by the fans, but this isn't acceptable for Manchester United. He's had plenty of time to impose his blueprint, but we're going backwards.

We need a world class manager; Ole cannot compete with the likes of Klopp, Pep and Tuchel. He isn't near that bracket.

Is it really an option that he does not get the sack now? Scary to think he is not yet finished here and what the ultimate outcome of his reign might be.

It is not only the lack of tactics. There is a lot wrong with the behavior of the players on the pitch. Moaning, lack of discipline, not playing as a unit, not properly tracking the runners, trying special things and give the ball away because of that...
Imagine a manager like Klopp or Tuchel when players do some of the things our lads do. They would go completely nuts.

Also Ole seems to have no say when it comes to transfers. Players like DvB and Sancho are bought because god knows why. And when the board decided to bring Ronaldo in he should have said "thanks but this is not what we need right now."

Was going to say that. Deadwood Woodward has 2 months left and I dont think he will want another sacking on his watch. Obviously if the Glazers start worrying we wont make top 4 they may force him to sack Ole, but it wouldnt surprise me if hes not here until Deadwood has gone.

What I dont get is match going fans abusing and throwing insults at the players. Yet they're happy to cheer Ole. I'm not for abusing anyone, but just simple Ole out would suffice. If anything people leaving the game in masses yesterday sent a sort of message.

But seriously, in the last 3 games we shipped 11 goals.

Eleven. Goals.

And we got hammered by our fiercest rivals. The biggest defeat at home since 1955.

As I said yesterday straight after the game, if he can somehow survive this he can survive anything. What is disastrous is that it's more realistic he'll stay then he'll get the sack this week.

Bollocks, there are dozens and dozens of better options and miles better CV’s than Ole in football.

The whole point is that these comments were also made when Tuchel and Nagelsmann were “available”. All that will happen is the likes of Ten Hag will go elsewhere and like Tuchel prove they are top class and suddenly folk like you will say “well Ten Hag is at Barca so who are the options”, if you’re always gonna wait for a Ten Hag or Nagelsmann to prove himself at another top club, well you’ll never get a promising manager will you?

Poch isn't an option (he has done nothing in the english game) and Mancini isn't either. International football and club football isn't the same and Mancini has been a flop at City winning the league by the good grace of our poor run of games back in April and May 2012. Maybe Zidane but I will accept Ten Hag as an answer.

Given how many games it's been now where we have been clearly sub-par, and the lack of any discernible adjustments to correct it, I agree it seems pointless to expect that more time is going to make any difference. And where we stand right now is not at a point where's there's a lamentable underperformance in results, or a worrying lack of consistency, or we've had a really bad run of 2-3 games. Where we stand right now is we're playing in a way where we cannot expect to beat anyone, and where we don't have a fundamentally functional game. Also, our defensive performances just seem to be steadily deteriorating, to the point of being laughable. It's just intolerable. It's not working. As in not working at all. And the fundamentals of that been there for at least 7-8 games, and showing every sign of deteriorating. The only time from YBB onwards where I've thought "okay, that looked a little bit better, maybe that's the start of recovery" was the Everton game. And even that was being generous.

I think we risk damaging the foundation Ole has put in place, if we continue to put the team through the grinder of more embarrassing defeats, playing a game plan they've stopped believing in. Confidence is evidently already collapsing even in cornerstone players (Shaw, Maguire). It would really be best if he leaves now. But in any case, Ole will go when the Board decides it's time. And whether it's him, a caretaker or a new manager leading us against Tottenham next weekend and then against Atalanta, the issues that need immediate fixing are the same. We're not going anywhere until we've re-established some basic control and confidence out of possession. It is painfully evident that's not going to happen with the game plan we've been trying to implement this year, maybe not with the formation we have either. If they could find a way of fixing that while fielding four attackers with limited input of either pressing or backtracking, I assume they already would have. There has got to be a more fundamental response, if that's what it takes.

Something huge has to happen and soon.

Furthermore Maguire needs to be dropped immediately, how much worse at this point can Bailey be.

It doesn't even look like there is a murmur of him being replaced, other than the odd pundit saying "surely he has to go now".

Gary Neville calling for the club to be 'brave' is bizarre at this point. It would make sense if he was new and needed time, but he's had several transfer windows and enormous backing, and despite a fair amount of progress last season, albeit some ups and downs, there has been clear backward motion pretty much since the Leeds game.

Things aren't going to magically get better just by keeping him, nor are we going to start looking like an organised team. If Ole doesn't have a plan now, then why would he all of a sudden have one in a months time, or 3 months, or however long they want to keep this going?

There is no noice at all that he will be sacked.
They extended the coaching staff's contracts and fully backed him with briefings not long ago. They've since beaten Atalanta. I don't think they're pulling the plug even if we lose to City. If we lose to Spurs too I think they might, otherwise Ole is our manager for a while yet.

Sure but nobody has done more than Jose amongst all the managers that were mentioned (Zidane the exception but he has had a set of much better players still getting dodgy ref decisions in the CL and being spanked by Barca in the league) and the Caf still wanted his head. The point is the right fit not the manager with a stellar CV as both Jose and LVG flopped at United.

I get the frustration and you can have the last comment but I don't think the CAF or 99% of United fans can pin point who the proper manager for the job is at this stage. I certainly don't know.
