I expect the same formation and line-up against Spurs if Ole is still here.

I think we’ll see a back 5, let’s hope Varane’s fit, play Sancho as a wing back, what ever, do something different

    De Gea

    Lindelof Varane Maguire

    Sancho Fred Donny Shaw

    Lingard Bruno

    Ronaldo

A very rare occasion where we have a whole week to prepare and our opponents have a midweek game. That won’t have happened too often under Solskjaer with our frequent deep cup runs.

I said before Liverpool that I think the Spurs game will be more indicative of whether Ole has a future or not as Manchester United manager. These recent performances defensively have been so bad. It is undermining our ability to get results and will continue to do so. If after a hard week on the training ground we still look as uncoordinated, the club have no choice but to act.
You think the club shouldn't act now?

What will happen next week is that the team that played today will rock on to the pitch and lose.

    He never changes his approach.
    He doesn't drop players

What should happen is that Maguire Shaw Fred McTominay Bruno Ronaldo are all dropped and give the other players a chance

If we have learned anything from Ole it is that he will not change his approach. I expect the same line-up and formation against Spurs. It is a strange thing to watch when someone keeps trying to be successful with a bad formula. It reminds me of a kid I taught who had asberger syndrome. Prediction 1-1.

    Nothing due to manager?
I mean how did the same players become bad in a year time.
That's the point isn't it? The coaching setup didn't change, no one changed. Performances changed.

And its not even a systemt that's changed. They're just playing poorly.

I'm sorry but I'm not going to sit here and have a discussion that excuses the players for being shit. The lot of them should have stayed behind yesterday and signed autographs to the entire stadium.

So it's just that, set up is good but they are playing poorly and surely they will, should lift their form?

Fish smells from the head, there's a saying. If players are playing poorly surely it's in part down to the manager.
As for system I'm not even sure what the system is. Its not even counter attacking anymore. At least we were good at that.

Of course players shouldnt be excused but what excuses does manager have?

Another horrible game as Spurs have in them a performance to beat us.

Posted my thoughts plenty on here and they can easily be found.

There’s not much point firing the manager as an emotional reaction to yesterday. City, Liverpool and Chelsea all had bad losses conceding five under their current managers last season, it happens. Ferguson and Busby lost by five goals at home in derbies too before winning further titles too, it happens.

Solskjaer can have no complaints if he is sacked though. We have seen the same defensive failings in the side week after week, with little evidence that he or his staff are equipped to address them. If the board want to sack Ole, they need to do so on the basis that there’s someone better equipped ready to do the job. They need to already have sounded out potential candidates and have a preferred one lined up. If they don’t, then removing him may just be an act of self harm. I don’t want Carrick or Fletcher managing us for a run of games.

Spurs for me was always the more informative game, given we have a very rare, whole week to prepare. If we play poorly in that one, he absolutely will have to be replaced. No ifs, and no buts.

We all know that Ole will once again play almost the same team, but to be honest they almost all need to be on the bench at Tottenham. Not in terms of quality but some of them needs to be punished.

    My team :

    ---------------------------------------De Gea---------------------------------------
    -----------------Lindelof--------Maguire---------Bailly---------------------
    Wan Bissaka-----------VDB----------Matic------------------------Telles
    ---------------------------------------Lingard----------------------------------------

Maguire is the biggest problem recently and you have him starting?

He needs to be the first one dropped

What will the Spurs game inform you of ?
Even if we win it won't paper over the shambles of the last 10 months.

Ole is finished and the game yesterday was just another reason to sack him. Not the only reason. Saying other managers shipped 5 is a misnomer as they are clearly blips which all teams have. Oles results are not blips, in fact good performances under him are blips so it's the total opposite.

I can see us drawing this 2-2
    And me.
Think there will probably be few of the players changed. Sancho will come in, Cavani and maybe Bailley. Still go with McFred though. Still have Maguire. Still will be disjointed, but Spurs are no Liverpool.

I really think he needs to drop some players to send a message, Maguire & Shaw have been god damn awful and they both look shot, I am not sure if Varane is back yet but i will assume not, therefore

    _________De Gea__________
    AWB_Bailly__Lindelof__Telles
    ___Lingard__Bruno__Fred______
    Sancho___Ronaldo_____Rashford

We need to be brave and move away from McFred and also this 4-2-4, it's killing us, Ole needs to get Bruno playing deeper for now at least and also get Lingard in there for his hard work and tracking back, i'd also put Varane with Lindelof if he is fit.

No selection is perfect right now with our current form and before people say back 5 every time we try this we concede goals, i can't remember a time with the exception of PSG game i think this team done well with a back 5.

The difference is they have all won trophies at the top level. Ole hasnt got that to drop back on. Thats the difference, one is a blip in successful management careers the other is more dross on top of dross.

Will draw this one and get smashed by City the following week.
That's how I see it as well, Nuno has stifled us before and both managers will approach the game being more concerned with not losing rather than winning.

Solskjaer has won more league titles than Busby had won at the stage, but that's kind of my point. You don't sack Ole in an emotional reaction to a 0-5 loss, the same way you wouldn't sack any more successful manager without considering the bigger picture. If you want to sack him, do so for positive change, but you need to get the succession right. There's no point firing him, if you have no clue what your next move is.

A clean sheet for once would be nice. And a boring and efficient 2-0 win to calm people's nerves a bit.

But probably out-of-form Harry will suddenly find his scoring boots and get a hattrick...

You are right, but do you think this club at the very top is run right on footballing decisions? We will look at who is available without any thought of if they are suitable VG Mou and Ole are all testament to that.

If Ole is still in charge then I suspect his cronies will be picked again regardless of form.

Team moral must be so down I won't be surprised if spurs thrash us next.

Two teams with some talented individuals but neither playing well right now - though Spurs are still playing better than the current Utd team based on the last week or two. Utd look utterly shot - if Ole is still in charge for this match then I'd expect us to win.

They're not anything special but its a tough away game still. The game in which it would normally be tough to win in let alone in the state we're in at the moment. They'll most probably outplay us and we'll ship 2, 3 goals due to defensive errors.

Is Pogba suspended for this match? If he isn't, obviously you play him as he will try his best.

I highly doubt any coach can make this shambolic display into a refined team game within a week. No matter what line up Ole chooses to play I don't expect players suddently raising their game, add to that lowest moral at the moment.

What I expect is damage control from Ole by parking aeroplane and then go for counter if possible. That's it.

It's why I can't get overly invested in calling for Ole's head, despite the shortcomings we see every week right now. I feel he is just as likely to turn it around, as the board are to appoint the right next manager, coaches and other appointments in the footballing structure to turn it around.
