Always remember - Jurgen Klopp would be managing us if Ed Woodward wasn’t a bellend.
Jurgen Klopp accurately spotted that United were being run as a money making operation not a football club and that Ed is just an accountant delivering that money. Of course he didn't want to come but it's about the Glazer, not their flunky.

For the same reason they will struggle to find a really elite level good manager now.

So, it's mid morning now in Florida...even the rich should be up and working. I totally get the frustration but unless there's been some clear communication and an agreement made with someone suitable to step in, I don't want a sacking. Heaven forbid we get a stand-in from that backroom. Some of us old enough will remember Sir Matt stepping in to steady the ship but I doubt even SAF is the solution today. I'd stick with Ole until the next coach is properly recruited, not airdropped in to change the mood quickly.

I am very worried about who replaces him. We have to get it right.
The thing is bad results are one thing but the performances this season under Solskjaer are so poor that the team has no spine and structure. I think given the inconsistencies with Ole the team the way they are playing are capable of finishing beyond 10th.

Conte or Zidane from Solskjaer is a step in the right direction. I however wouldn't take Conte beyond 24 months.

If Luckhurst is reporting it, then I’m likely to believe it. But the club needs to decide quickly what it’s going to do, tonight ideally. That decision has to be the sack though I would prefer it if he was offered the chance to resign first.

The issue for me with not sacking him now is that this Monday will repeat itself. The team is clearly at rock bottom right now, no belief, no organisation, we will get another defeat, maybe against Spurs, highly likely a trouncing by City and the board will be asking the exact same question as they are now. Put him out of his misery and move on.

How much credit ie trophies did Ferguson have in his account when that happened… completely different scenario.
Exactly. Context is important. So one embarrassing defeat should not be an automatic sacking. Ole should lose his job because we’ve been pulled apart like this multiple times this season alone. I just think he deserves a bit more respect than he’s getting here but hey ho.

Feels like the board are putting feelers out to see how the fans would respond to sackinh him

Expect Gary Neville to throw a massive fit anytime soon. Thankfully it's not a matchday for him to rile the fans up
Gary sacks managers after 6 games but he expects Manchester United to act according to what he says and not how he behaves

He's as good as gone.

Half the players in that dressing would have lost all faith in him at this point. He sealed his fate by bringing in Ronaldo, who's not going to accept mediocrity and certainly isn't going to shoulder any blame himself.

They're probably trying to persuade Conte to sign up to Disneyland and he adds a zero every time Ed opens his mouth.
Conte is probably demanding a substantial budget, full control of coaching appointments and final say on all things connected to the team. It's not ideal to take over mid-season, so he probably wants assurances before he says yes.

Which he really should get if he were to be appointed.

You can’t spend this much money and be this bad, it really is that simple. Lovely bloke, but he’s failed.

They're probably trying to get him to accept a short contract like Tuchel did. Don't see a problem with Conte on a deal till end of next year. If things go south this season we can just sack him in the summer.

You'd have sacked SAF after the 6-1 loss? The same loss were we had 10 men at 3-1 and threw players forward and died on our sword?

SAF even said a few years later he'd have managed that game differently now and would've shut up shop to avoid embarrassment.

We did neither of throwing players forward or shutting up shop yesterday, there was just nothing, not one ounce of fight from the players given the occasion.
I don't think saf did anything wrong. We were losing 3-1, if we nicked a goal city would have fallen back. The gamble did not pay off.

He will certainly want one if not two quality DMs in the January window. He would be clinically insane to take the job without that.

Can we stop considering and monitoring all the time and start acting for once? Also, all of Ole's Cardiff mates and amateur coaches have to go.

Woodward tried to do a lame sales pitch to Klopp.
The bizarre comparison with United and Disneyland.

Of course a proper football coach would be wondering wtf was that.

Rightly so, he rejected the offer.

Damn it. Woodward again.

Luckhurst from what I recall has typically been a reliable journalist for information. Clearly there are a few in the media who have close sources with the club. The fact the glazers haven't said anything is evidence enough.
I'd say it's probably 50/50 on him. He gets a lot wrong. Others in here have said he gets more wrong than right.

He could be right, but they have to make an official announcement to the stock exchange and that won't happen until trading is closed for today. So it will be later today when they are closed, closer to 10pm or in the morning around 9/10 about 5 hrs before they open in the US.

Can’t see them sacking him today, we’ll get the usual vote of confidence, he’ll struggle on for a few more games, then he’ll get the boot in a week or two.

I can see him not coming at all and some clown being appointed. It's a terrible way to run a division 2 football club, let alone Manchester United.

I think he's done. Stories like this don't come out otherwise. It will be tonight or tomorrow. At least Liverpool's famous win won't be the headline news all week.

Think he’s as good as gone now. If these reports were untrue, Utd would have come out and denied them by now.

No obvious answers, are there? But at the very least we can’t walk into Tottenham Stadium with Ole serving up lambs to the butcher. I hate the idea of deciding in 24-48 hours the next manager but here we are. If it’s Conte, so be it.
