Yep, that’s exactly what was in Klopp’s mind. 5-0 ok, but 6-0 might get him sacked

I actually believe he stopped out of respect for Ole the player and person rather than out of respect for United.

It was definitely not due to saving energy as they hardly needed to invest any energy in the game anyway.
Yeah I think Klopp respects United too though, he's not just a typical Scouse manager that hates us.

If I was a fan of theirs I actually would be sort of miffed, they had a chance to put double digits on us if they actually wanted to especially when we were down to 10 men.

Ten Haag. Tell me, how many Ajax games have you seen? His gong-ho style of play will never end well in the PL. Besides, has any dutch manager ever done well in the PL?
Well clearly more than you as when does his team play all out gung-ho football? Have you even watched them play? Unless you don’t know what gung-ho even means because it’s nothing like gung-ho football his Ajax team plays.

WTF does past Dutch managers record in the premier league got to do with it? If that’s the criteria then should we hire Gordon Strachan or Steve Clarke as the most successful PL manager of all time was Scottish?

Reports were saying it was mainly the English players that are still backing him and a few international players. If that is true, then he is surely gone.
Shaw, Maquire, Sancho, Lindgard, Rashford, Greenwood... From what I saw yesterday... none of the guys that played have his back (look how they played) and the ones on he bench that didnt play... why would they have his back? Always being benched for underperforming players in a formation that doesnt work.

The biggest mistake Ole did imo was not getting a better team under himself. People who are better than him in training, tactics, etc. As a man manager I think he got everything and the players really like him and respect him.

Well, that did not happen and it’s time to act.
Definitely this. Some of us have been saying it for long time as well.
Just curious, but where do you think he was going to get this super team of coaches from?

Nope.

It’s also quite funny that ten Hag is literally a year younger than Conte and 2 years older than Zidane! The implication with him is he’s was a spring chicken fresh on the scene.

You want to hire a manager with only 181 games at top Dutch level under his belt? This is why we can't have nice things

You don't think they can apply for a job like any normal person? there's plenty of highly skilled coaches around the world.

What we have to ask is why do the likes of Micheal Carrick warrant being on the coaching staff for? just because he was good at playing?

I don’t know but see my post a couple of posts above yours. I think we should try. If he doesn’t want to come, fair enough, we move on to other targets. I like him a lot.
I agree he would be good, somebody else also mention about him leaving during a WC qualifying campaign, not sure he would, but we dont know, if it came to it, no harm in asking the question to his advisers.

Ugh, Zidane versus Conte death match. Definitely wary of his impact after a season or two though

No idea. I'm not the one who is supposed to be doing these things. But Ole himself says he relies on his team of coaches on the training ground. His misjudgement of their abilities has proven to be his undoing.

Gentle? He's a maniac compared to Pep!
I think he meant that City would not stop after putting 5 past us. If we were down to 10 men, Pep would probably add an attacker to their team and ask them to score even more. He seems more ruthless that way.

I'm going to feel sorry for Ole a little when he goes but the signs were there for everyone to see but its like he chalked up all the chances teams have been getting down to bad luck and didn't want to do anything about it. I had high hopes when he said something had to give, I thought we were changing formations but nope.

And to add to that: does anyone know the name of a single coach that Klopp or Pep use? Outside of Arteta and the geezer who left Klopp to unsuccessfully manage a Portuguese team? How about Simeone’s, or Hansi Flick’s?

Conte is perfect though because we'll just fire him at the end of the season if things go south, no club ties, volatile guy, will be a walk in the park compared to Ole's slow death.

Ye he just meant to give even more time for Mcfred to play. Picking those 2 constantly and not being able to get the best out of the star players has ultimately cost him

+1

But he has never really struck me as a manager that valued that tactical nous highly. If he thought being able to press was important, why not implement it in the first year when he'd have a lot more leeway for this type of result?

Every club that tries to transition to a high pressing style will have a rough time and we're dealing with that now. Part of it is maybe McKenna and Carrick just not knowing how to implement it. Part of it is probably player buy-in but a pressing system doesn't need the best players in the world to start performing (if anything having the best players in the world is a bad thing for the collective).

He could've had a good high press with players like Lingard, Pereira, Fred, Rashford, Cavani etc. who all work very hard and yet he went for it when Ronaldo joined.

Yes it's the next step for the club, but it's all very strange.

Just curious, but where do you think he was going to get this super team of coaches from?
Where do you get any coach? Word of mouth, looking at coaching badges and how good they were in their class, People highly successful at U-23 management etc. McKenna ticked all the boxes but it just didn't work.

It was like 3-1 to City in the 89th minute and we’d recently just scored. Fergie tried to go all balls out to get the draw but it backfired hence why they scored 3 goals in 90 minute stoppage time.

Much different to being 4-0 down at HT.
Weren't we down to 10 men early on with Evans getting sent off and us conceding a penalty?

It was a tough defeat I get it… we lick our wounds and we move on as a team and take this result as our main motivation for not letting this ever happen again.

I love my team and I am very much hurt as you all.

Would be very silly to fire Ole at this point, we ALL failed against a much better side and we have to accept it!

It will be unacceptable to hear that LFC has made us again fire a coach.
Im curious, what would it take for you to call the sacking on Ole? I mean if a total humiliation against Liverpool at Old Trafford doesn't do it I wonder what would? Relegation maybe?
