"He's done a brilliant job building this squad"

The most overused and infuriating bs being spewed around by our fanbase along with the word "hipster manager"

Has he really built that good of a squad? Varane, Sancho and Bruno were all good signings but are the rest really? Our £50m right back is offensively handicapped. Our world record CB signing have half the time been good and half the time looked like a proper mug out there. He shat on Donnys career and he offloaded James within 2 seasons out of regret of even signing him. Telles barely gets used and have practically had no impact at all and Cavani & Ronaldo will soon be gone either way. Pogba will likely be gone on a free and the midfield been completely ignored during his entire 3 years.

Someone please enlighten me why this parroting about him building a good team is constantly being thrown out about 500 times a day?
Yeah, give me 500 million and I can do a good job at building a squad. And who would have thought about Varane, Sancho, Bruno and Ronaldo? Absolute hidden gems there from Ole. Thanks!

If we are to believe the latest reports (briefings) from The Telegraph I doubt he's going anywhere right now.

If we replace solskjaer now we are idiots, so much short termism, he’s done a brilliant job assembling this squad, he needs to be given the chance to turn something around.

He needs to handle this pressure, there’s something not quite right and it needs to be fixed ASAP.
He’s had a shedload to spend, bn allowed to recruit serial CL-winners and we’re still light years behind the scousers and City.
Brendan for me: young, tactically-astute, signs good players cheaply and makes them better. If he brings with him Fofana and Ndidi that’ll ding-dang-do for me. Oh, and he’s got something to prove to the ‘dippers

Cant believe im reading this from a City fan.

I've backed Ole for a long time, and while you do write some sense, it seems hes lost the dressing room completely and there is simply no coming back from that. Also, we wont finish top 4 if we keep this up. Hell, we'd be lucky to qualify for the Conference league at this point
Pretty bad when opponent fans want Ole to keep his job while a large part of Manchester United fans dont want their own club legend as a manager anymore...

Nobody could seriously want Rodgers over Conte. Conte actually...you know...wins stuff.
Incredibly ignorant post. Rodgers won the FA Cup last season. He completely dominated in Scotland which doesn’t sound like a great achievement but he got Celtic to a very impressive level in relative terms and they completely fell apart without him.

Conte will end in disaster but at this point I don’t care just get an actual manager in.

Again I agree to a point.
Angry at the way he has managed, but insulted ? don't agree there.
We all want the same thing in the end that's all that matters.
I'm insulted by a club that appointed a man who has no business being anywhere near this role. I'm insulted by a club that has been running a campaign around this man for the past three years. I'm insulted by someone who is supposed to have Manchester United in his heart, but has taken on a role far too big for him and has insisted on hanging on to it, while buying the hearts of the fans with his talk of our history.

I'm not a football coach. I'm not a football executive, but even I knew in 2019 that Solskjaer had no business taking the job. The people running United and himself decided that he does. So yes, I'm insulted. Big time. I feel like my intelligence has been insulted.

People are still seriously considering Rodgers? They're having a worse season than us.

So why is he expected to challenge if the squad is so bad?

It can’t work both ways.

Looking at the Telegraph updated article it seems they've briefed Ole is still in the job.

Still think we'll be waiting for another disaster result or two and we wont see him sacked until the international break.

Going to be another disaster.
The only disaster here is Ole and the fact that the board gave him 2 3 years contracts. Now we're getting a proper coach in. If he doesn't work out, sack him and move on to the next. That's how big clubs do it. No more of this "DNA" and "Ways" pointless babble.

I have hoped, and still do, that Ole will be successful. There have been some appalling performances and many of the players are clearly underperforming (some are simply showing their true colour. maguire.)

There is something structurally missing in the tactics and he doesnt seem able to come to grips with it.

I do however not believe sacking every manager after a few bad runs (i know there has been more than a few) is the solution.
Give him the season if nothing changes then let someone else take over from summer. Its not the end of the world to not win a trophy one more year. Sacking him now might not change it.

+sacking him now means they have to find a new manager mid season AND that manager will come in to a mid season struggle with players who dont have any confidence or believe in what they do.

I'd rather give it Giggsy's parole officer til end o' th' season than see that cnut anywhere near the United dugout.

It fecks me off so much that City and Liverpool and now probably Chelsea are so settled managerially. We could have had all 3 if we had acted differently in those moments. Brutal.

I've supported him and even recently thought he'd earn this year to show his mettle, but the guy is drowning. You can see on his face that he's lost it and the players have lost faith in him too.

Conte is so uninspired. I really hope if it is him it is just a deal until the end of the season.
He is the best manager on the planet that is not currently signed to a club. As if he will sign anywhere for less than a season where he already has a standing start.

Concerned nothing has been announced this evening, surely after today they can't keep him for the spurs game?
