He’s been given 3 games. If he’s as shit as everyone on here is saying and completely lost the dressing room he’s gone after Spurs. Bit melodramatic? Tank the season…
if we lose to Atalanta it basically tanks the season, yeah. Have to beat Villarreal to stay in the CL (resulting in the same kind of pressure we buckled under going into the Leipzig game) much less chance of a great manager coming in mid season to manage a side in the Europa. Bigger chance of players wanting away, and less chance of attracting them in Jan too.. it might be just 3 games, but there are all sorts of precarious knock ons… which is why this is such an almighty cluster feck!
The whole idea that we’ve made such great strides under Ole is based on the notion that Jose left us in such a horrendous state that it needed 3 whole years just to get us back to the place Jose was 6 months before he melted down (2nd and a lost cup final)…. Something that required such a monumental overhaul that we started the last 2 games with 7 players from Jose’s reign still in the side…
And if Jose could tank the club to such a extent it required a lengthy and comprehensive rebuild, a mere few months after finishing 2nd and reaching a cup final (having won two the previous year) how exactly can Ole’s current meltdown - with 7 of the same players, and no previous trophies - NOT be seen in the same kind of terms? Especially if allowed to continue on further, to the point where we can potentially go out of the CL - something not even managed in Jose’s evil scorched earth last half of a season?
And how can any of that not be seen as a humongous lowering of standards?
And don’t get me wrong, I’d love them to be buying themselves time to find the perfect manager, but …
are they doing that??! This is our board we’re taking about. I don’t have the answers, but everything just seems so fecking grim.
